That goal in the 09 final was nothing like the one last night. It's basically like saying any freekick is the same as that Roberto Carlos one.

The header was good, but let's not get carried away.

Ronaldo is the complete goalscorer, just as Brazilian Ronaldo was, that's where the argument ends.

Great guy. You know who can never ever understand Portuguese like that.

Thought he was superb tonight. Let down by sloppiness from the 10 men in white behind him.

Has apparently scored 37 goals in the last three CL's, 13 more than any other player. Went back to being the top CL scorer of all time again tonight (one ahead of Messi who plays tomorrow). Now has 9 semi final goals, more than any player.

The commentary after his goal was funny too. "He can change a game in an instant!"
Ronaldo couldn't have penned it better himself.

That is very impressive. In the CL semi-finals you will always be up against a very strong opponent. That is a great record.

Was just about to post a similar link on this story. Whilst it's not a huge gesture in the grand scheme of things, it is the little things like this that make me admire Ronaldo above other footballers of his generation. Yes he strops on the pitch when he's not firing on all cylinders, but he comes across very well in terms of attitude / professionalism as well as generally being a very nice guy and very appreciative to those that have assisted him through his career.

And there are many examples of other footballers who act like a pricks to those who helped them?

Many would argue that Rooney hasn't covered himself in glory but that's a whole different ball game.

But that's not what I said, I was merely saying that ronaldo often comes across as a very nice guy. Hugging fergie and looking very pleased to see him after clinching cl with madrid. Almost apologetic to Lisbon fans after he scored that diving header against them for us.

What exactly did you expect him to do, punch him in the face because he made him the player he is?

No one ever did that to former manager who was like father figure to him, that's why Ronaldo is above other footballers of his generation. :wenger:

Saying that only he does those kind of things is ridiculous, Rooney does it all the time and even cnuts like Terry are known for doing good stuff outside the pitch.

Ronaldo is above other footballers of his generation for many reasons above his off field actions.

Christ, can't believe i'm having to defend my opinion for saying that Ronaldo always comes across very well as a man off the field in terms of relationships with fans, former coaches. He seems very well thought of in that regard.

Don't really see why that is up for debate.

So these two are the same to you? Okay.

You are not defending that, you are defending that you said that he is above any other footballer of his generation in regard to being good human being.

I don't understand why we've reached a level where fans argue over how nice of a guy a player is like it's at all relevant.

Yesterday He reached Di Stéfano as the 2d top scorer in Madrid history with 307 goals
