4th placed trophy!

Tbf, had we even drawn a couple of the games recently we would be sitting pretty, well we still are. A draw tomorrow is not the worst result as I can't see Liverpool getting anything from Chelsea.

The two fixtures after Palace are troubling. Arsenal who are in fantastic form, and Hull away who may not be safe from relegation by then. Could really do with Hull beating Burnley.

Interesting what he says about only having a right-sided holding midfielder, what does he mean by that?

Well in his 4-3-3 he usually likes to play with the ten as a forward, so a triangle with two CMs. If you think about it at the moment we look more like the other way around, with Carrick back and two forward in Fella and Herrera. But then isn't he counting on Blind in that position?

We hardly create proper chances, if he wants us to score 1/4 chances, shots from 30 meters or shots when 4 defenders stand in front of the player, he needs to have a word with himself. Apart from McNair's and Rvp'a chance, we didnt create a very good chance vs WBA.
So true, strange he keeps cheating even himself

We'll have qualified for the CL by Sunday 6pm.

Terrible news on the Carrick front. Obviously he's been such a key player for us. Still, it's no excuse for the losing streak. At least Blind can now move to midfield, with Shaw being back. That's at least something, freeing Rooney up to move back up front.

Interesting quotes on trying to find a Carrick replacement during the summer, or at least another player who can play that role. It sounded like that was his priority in the transfer window.

Pretty sure Louie said Rojo isn't ready for the bench yet, just like he said Carrick wasn't out for 6 months earlier this season. Whoever does the press conference updates for that twitter account seems like a bit of a dope.

Memphis is a scoring winger, there are not many scoring wingers in the world...we signed him within one day.

Wilson could be on the bench after recovering from illness.

Jesus fecking Christ, give me a break. Carrick out till the end of the season and now some shitty virus attacking our squad? The hell does it even mean? Who more won't be available then?

Shaw being fit is a boost at least, and I like how he referred to Memphis, 4-3-3 all the way!

fecking Christ, now a virus? That means the lineup won't be set until the very last moment because you can't tell who will be well or not. The lineup can be a full squad or half of the youth squad.

I keep saying I could not see Herrera or DiMaria in the training photos from today.

Anyway definately looks like we'll get a Carrick replacement/cover in the summer, and then another CM too?

Sounds like he means right footed holding midfielder, with Blind being left footed. Why that would make any difference whatsoever, who knows? But LVG is more anal than most about which foot players use

If there are some out with a virus, which foot they use will be the least of his worries. We might end up with a team of CB's playing.

Well we lost to one last weekend. Or at least a back 4 made up entirely of CB's. I must admit I will be happy with having 2 CB's fit the way our CB's have been over the last few seasons.

Are these all the people unaffected?

The questions were predictably horrible once again. Its amazing how the journos, who have all week to prepare, can't ask decent questions.

That would take intelligence. I am sure they all did a postal course in journalism.

One of them was struggling for about 5 minutes to formulate a simple question on how important top 4 actually is

He seemed at conflict with himself. It was truly cringeworthy.

Not to mention the amount of times they must have asked LVG a similar question regarding top 4 importance. Could make a drinking game out of it at this stage.

Pathetic rhetoric from Van Gaal on that.

Playing in the CL qualifiers isn't a fecking prize. Playing in the CL group stages isn't a fecking prize either.

The only prizes in football happen when you win something - not something I'm desperate for, I just wanna see good football and get back to properly challenging again.

But to hear that from him is incredibly small-time. Moyesian, even.
