With the exception of Ronaldo I don't think they "took" any of them. Personally I believe they were all a loss to the squad, however Fergie wanted rid and no player in that position is going to turn down Madrid.
They will most definitely take De Gea if they get him for the reported fees that being spouted about :(

I've watched RM a lot over the years and, imo, Ramos is top class. He's 29 though, and De Gea is one of the world's best keepers, so, if anything, a straight swap favours Real. Talk of large sums going to Madrid is mental.

Edit: I just remembered that back in the day, before he went to Real, Fergie wanted Ramos.
 
I'm in the 'using us for a bigger contract' camp but at least it looks likely this won't drag on.

I expect something concrete in the next few days. Too much has been said in the media.
 
He would be a big improvement for the squad, even if as a pure defender is nothing of special.

Got a feeling this will escalate massively now....I expect a decision will be made if he leaves or stays within the next few days.

Well let's hope he gets good fast or his allegedly supreme leadership and experience qualities for us will amount to a fat lot of nothing.
 
A few weeks ago Sergio Ramos would have been one of the last players I could think of that might be playing for us next season. Crazy world. Definitely take him though as long as the deal is reasonable. I think he is class.
 
well this has escalated quickly...

I'm still pessimistic about this and still think this is all a ploy to get better contract on ramos's part, and he'll sign a new contract and it'll be as if nothing happened.
 
Would be particularly satisfying if we get him against Madrid's wishes. For too long we've lived under that fear ourselves
 
I suppose he is a good Footballer and a great leader who is experienced. However, I would personally go for other options but if it happens then fairplay.
 
It would be hilarious is we somehow got De Gea to stay and sign a contract and poached Ramos from Madrid. Not that it's likely but I'd never say a bad word about Woodward again if he pulled it off.

Hopefully not. Superb centre back (compared to current ones anyway, it's a dark time for centre backs generally).
 
Third article by Sid Lowe in four days. He's sourced, that's guaranteed. Whether it transpires or not is different altogether.
 
Is this really happening? He's a little bit on the old side, but not too bad for a cb. What a signing it would be. It would also feel great to steal one of their most important players.

Is...this...happening? It can't be...can it? Seriously, this has escalated quick. Ramos is a 29 year old CB, Madrid's V.C, still in his prime years.

Not gonna believe this until some paper is signed. Definitely wants new Madrid contract and they will definitely give it him.
 
I'm at the stage where I'm emotionally attatched. When I get home, gonna watch some YouTube videos of him.
 
Personal dislike towards him clouds many ppl's judgement about him. This guy in one of the best CB out there and, for a start, a great footballer as well. He is by far the best one bringing the ball out of defense. Get a grip guys. This seemed just way too unlikely to be taken serious but shit got real didn't it?
 
I hate Ramos, what am I supposed to feel like?
Should I just go with a "he's a cnut but he's our cnut" vibe?
