That's the best thing ever, haha!
He will be a good signing if we sign few very good midfielders and totally dominate games, otherwise we are in trouble. But actually, if we sign these midfielders, we don't need Ramos. I just don't get it, why him? What is wrong with us?

Yeah, why would we want one of the best, most experienced, centre backs in the world, when we've got Phil Jones and Chris Smalling as our starting partnership?
We're proper mental we are.
why even have any defenders, lets just have a team full of midfielders dominating possession!
He is not the best CB in the world, he isn't really very good. He is an average defender, who is very good on the ball. Smalling is a better defender. Ramos and experience? Maybe experienced, but still stupid and only his name and Real Madrid's name is saving him from having red card in every tough game he plays.
Yes, we are idiots.
At 29 he's already played for Spain just short of 130 times. And there are people questioning his quality. He's bonkers and erratic at times, but he's an absolute class footballer.
You don't pass up on these opportunities if they're legit. And having him will surely help the likes of Jones and Smalling learning to play from the back.
I'd be more than happy if we went into the new season with him as our main CB. I don't actually expect it to happen, but I think we need someone who has done it all back there to tighten things up.

you're crazy if you think Smalling is better than Ramos. no point really debating it.
Why not? He's the superior player. I don't get it.If we spend stupid amounts on this cnut ahead of Otamendi![]()
I'd suggest that there is only one idiot here, if you think Ramos 'isn't really very good' and an 'average defender', or that Smalling is better (and thats coming from a big fan of Smalling)
Oh okay. They were dominant on a global scale for 5 years and their defenders had nothing to do with it.And Spain was successful because of their defenders? They were successful because of their midfielders and attackers. We all saw what happened with their defense after they've lost the ability to control games. He is just not worth the money.
Absolutely ridiculous. He's been the rock in the middle of La Liga, Champions League, Euro and World Cup winning defences. He is not the best CB in the world, he isn't really very good. Especially with De Gea likely gone as wellYeah, why would we want one of the best, most experienced, centre backs in the world, when we've got Phil Jones and Chris Smalling as our starting partnership?.
Bloody hell, after having someone like Rio in our team for 10 years to say that Ramos is a very good defender.... Bloody hell.... But OK, most people think that Bale is 80mio pound players, so why not this...
Didn't you know..those successful teams were based on midfield and attack only.Absolutely ridiculous. He's been the rock in the middle of La Liga, Champions League, Euro and World Cup winning defences.

It's like saying Barcelona's drastically improved form last season was down to the front three and absolutely nothing to do with Pique's huge improvement. When in reality their defensive stability is probably one of the unsung successes of the season gone.

Ramos already has a goal for United
I am watching him since he came to Real. In the first years he was a joke, literally, and it was justified because he changed the position, but later he improved, but not really enough.
So, how many La Liga title did they win since he is there? You are telling me that Spain won the titles because of defense?
Can we say that Pique is a WC defender, he won everything and he won ti more times actually. Mascherano is a WC defender also, as he is playing mostly as a CB for Barcelona? You would want him as a United CB?
Kompany was more than average when City won the league last time, Cahill won it with Chelsea..... Why does it matter what they have won?
As I said, just look how many times he should have been sent off, but wasn't? Even against United he should have been sent off at least once. Just watch the games for God's sake.
Compared to Rio and Vidić he isn't even close, so how can he be a top class defender?
Yeah, Barcelona and Spain were famous for their defending....

I don't have the numbers but I'm almost sure that both teams have among the best defensive records in the last 8 years.

They've been competing against one of the best club teams of all time. Even Ronaldo only has 1 title. So, how many La Liga title did they win since he is there?
No ones saying they were won because of the defence, but don't be one of those pricks that doesn't give defenders enough credit. All great teams have solid defenders, and Ramos is 100% one.I am watching him since he came to Real. They didn't concede a single goal in the knockout stages of Euro 2008 with one of the three games being decided on penalties (Italy) and another being decided by a single goal (Germany). In the 2010 World Cup in the four knockout games they again didn't concede a single goal and all four were decided by a single goal (Portugal, Paraguay, Germany and Netherlands). In Euro 2012 in the three knockout games they didn't concede a single goal with one game being decided on penalties (Portugal), so yes I'd say defence was pretty important and not conceding a goal in those 10 consecutive knockout games is impressive.
