Bundesliga 2015/2016

Anybody playing the "Kicker-Managerspiel"?

Pretty tough this season: If you buy De Bruyne, you don't know if he is still in Wolfsburg after the transfer window closes. And if you buy a Bayern star, you don't know if he is playing regularly in regard of this squad. Where the hell should I get rid of my money?

Mathenia - Heintz, Maroh, Brosinski - Maxim, Malli, de Bruyne, Robben - Ujah, Niederlechner, Bellarabi + some cheap bench options (Weigl at 0.8 is a steal, I also have Dudziak and Joelinton)

Or in more general terms, Darmstadt keepers, Köln defenders and the major point winners.

Somebody has to award Stefan Reuter a medal. He sold an overrated, average LB to Hamburg last summer, buys a much more talented young LB from the 2nd division for € 2.5M and equips him with a long-term contract without exit-clause. Now he's going to sell him the following year for €25M after refusing significant offers in the €15-20M - range for the last two months.

While the departure of yet another young aspiring player from the Bundesliga is regrettable, I feel like this might be a game-changing amount of money for Augsburg. A club that had an estimated pay-roll of €22-25M last season.

A job well done.

We´ll see. The Baba deal is from a financial standpoint certainly a success story, but it also means that they have to replace one of their absolute key players. The prices for them in the market tier where they usually fequent will also certainly rise.

I´m more sceptical about the effects of one time payments on the general developments of club seven if they are as significant as this one. The problem about attracking top talent or good proven players is more about the wages than the transfer fees and I doubt that Augsburg will base the former on transfer income. These should always be backed up by the general revenue and in that aspect Augsburg is at best midtier in the league. I can also see them struggling to cope with the EL and the league at the same time given their pretty old squad.

I like them and hope that they don´t follow the foot steps of other smaller teams who suffer after a successful season and fall back into the very competive midtable or even further (see Freiburg for example), but it is clear for me that a lot of Bundesliga clubs have a problem with substainability. There are only a handful of clubs in the Bundesliga, who can play a poor season and come out mostly unaffected. For the majority of the clubs a couple of missteps are enough to cause a very deep fall.

It'd be crazy if Baba went on to become a top top LB. People would constantly confuse Alba, Alaba, Baba in world elevens.

Supercup tonight.

Bayern probably will play with a mourning ribbon as Stephan Beckenbauer (Beckenbauer's son) died in the morning on a brain tumour. He was 46, has three teenage sons and has been a youth coach in the club. He had all of Lahm, Schweinsteiger, Müller and Alaba in his U17.

Bayern bench: Ulreich - Rafinha, Bernat, Götze, Rode, Vidal, Kimmich

Höjbjerg is missing - but somebody had to miss out. Gaudino, Green and Kurt are with the U23 that plays a derby against 1859+1 tomorrow. (gets broadcasted by sport1 with Tobi Schweinsteiger as co-commentator)

Vidal in for Alonso and that could be our best XI this season. Depending on how Ribery recovers and if Götze finally finds his best form consistently, Costa might start regularly or not.

Really looking forward to the game now and I hope Kimmich gets to play in the 2nd half.

tbh, I don't understand why you're keeping Gaudino/Kurt or Green, none of them will get any decent minutes this season and it will hamper their progress. They need to be loaned out.

Gaudino's problem still is his body. He would not play at another first league team because of this - there is even more chance for minutes at Bayern right now.

Green does not want to get loaned out right now because of his experiences with Hamburg. For him it might be best to get half a year of normal match time even if it is just the U23.

Die Startelf der Wölfe: Casteels - Vieirinha, Naldo, Klose, Rodriguez - Luiz Gustavo, Arnold - Caligiuri, De Bruyne, Perisic - Dost

I did not know that Luiz Gustavo was fit after his injury. Surprise.

Green has no future and I have no doubt, that he´ll leave if any 1./2. League team is interested. hojbjerg should be loaned out another year. He is too good to play for the second team and he wont progress as sub. Gaudion and Kurt still need to develop the body of grown-ups; its okay if they play another year for the second team.

Just got home and seen De Bruyne´s missed sitter. Anyone kind enough to give me a short review of the first half?

Can't believe if Götze is gonna be happy to be a lot on the bench this season. Would love to see him at United.

To this day I can´t comprehend what brought Allofs to pay 30+ Mil. € for André Schürrle. He is a valuable option from the bench due to his pace, but otherwise way too limited for a player in that price segment.

For all the (mostly deserved) praise Allofs has gotten in the last few years, Mourinho properly ripped him off in that case.

Good game overall, but Vidal really wants to prove his reputation .

Could have been send off right now after ten minutes and two pretty harsh tackles.

fecking Pep... will he EVER learn that you do not, under any circumstances, sub off Thomas Müller in a final? Time and time again the same crap.

No Müller for the penatlies yet again. Masterfully done. Never gets old.

I know De Bruyne had that bad miss but he still looks a class above anyone else in this Wolfsburg team.

Absolutely agree. Another thing I like about him is that he is good through the middle and on the wings, basically any attacking midfielder position he is a real threat. We could really do with someone like him I feel.
