I'm not saying they'll win the league, just that mocking their chances of winning the league when we have finished behind them in two consecutive seasons winning nothing in that time then pumping up our own title chances is odd..Believe me, I used to love mocking Arsenal too, but we had Fergie then..now we are just like anyone else.
It's nothing to do with us really, I'm just talking about solely Arsenal. They aren't good enough to win the league because they aren't good enough defensively as always and they'll always have feck ups like the West Ham game.

Struggle to get 75? Why? We got 70 points last season despite going through the terrible opening adaptation period where we got 13 points in 10 games, and then in our last 5-6 games we basically just stopped playing because top 4 was secured, and only got 5 points in our last 6 games

Because we aren't any better than last season. We've had a better start but this does not mean that we have a better team. Hopefully I'm wrong but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Besides, we paly in the CL this season.

What is this recent thing of talking about the table so early in the season? Sky keep mentioning what that result does for these 2 in the league table..it's 2 fecking games in. The league table doesn't take any shape until October and doesn't really take shape properly until after Christmas.

Am I the only one who is sickened by how often Chelsea dive? Between outright dives and 'initiating contact - I.e. kicking the opponents leg and falling over it - they must try at least 10-15 times per game.

After buying Memphis, Darmian, Schweinsteiger, Morgan we dont have a better team? What an odd, odd thing to say.

Yeah, Chelsea will obviously challenge, but this start will hurt them I think. If they don't buy anyone to improve their starting 11, then I don't think they'll win the title.

On the first two games (and must be stressed it is only two games) realistically it looks like City's to lose. The confidence they'll have from today will be huge.

Also they typically are a rebound team. After a good season they tend to struggle and after a poor season they are usually reinvigorated and motivated and thats what they're on this year.

Last year we were 4th and they were 3rd.
And even if we were much worse than them does that mean we cant make fun of them?
It was much better making fun of them when they were much worse than us....its just less funny when its us that were celebrating the fourth place trophy..especially when I remember how many Arsenal fans I mocked for that.

BBC:

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho on Sky Sports: "The best team in the first half won the game. The best team in the second half was Chelsea for sure. We had a difficult first half, we didn't create a lot and our goalkeeper made a few important saves.

"Second half everything was different. If the 1-0 was a doubtful result at minute 70, 3-0 is completely fake. At 1-0 Chelsea were the best team for the whole second half.

"They make a change because they feel 1-0 is in danger and we concede a second goal. If 1-1 a different story, their team is in trouble."

I don't see us winning the title, but last year showed that LvG is excellent when it comes to the big games, and I'm pretty confident about the big games this season. It's beating the smaller teams, with our lack of goals, that's going to be the issue, as you said.

With how solid our defence have been, if that continues, Schweinsteiger / Carrick and Schneiderlin shutting off the centre, Shaw and Darmian the flanks and when they get through we have the centre backs, if we keep De Gea and he maintains his form then I don't think we will need to score too many, with such a solid seven I can see us taking the lead consistently (even if it is hard work) and after that when the small teams must attack there is the space we need.

Southampton had the second best defence in the premier league conceding one less than Chelsea, I think this was the reason a squad that should have finished in the bottom half mounted a serious challenge for top four.

A lot depends on the window, Pedro will help our attack, keeping De Gea etc. I'm not thinking of the title but I am hoping for 86 points, Louis van Gaal got 52 points in the 23 match run last season starting after that awful first 10 matches and ending with the Chelsea loss, that same form for 38 matches is 86 points.

I also think the league could be more competitive, a lot of the smaller teams have spent due to the increased funds, who knows, the top four might drop more points from winning positions than usual because of the increased strength of the smaller teams when they must attack, a potentially solid defence could reduce this compared to the top four rivals, the reverse is also true though, they might be even harder to break down.

I think it depends on whether we can get that first goal to put us ahead consistently and if not then how effective our plan B (possibly to Fellaini or throwing Hernandez on) will be in the last fifteen minutes to scrape the win.

(Oh yeah, we also have a good bench I think, Herrera has come on in the last two matches to control the game when we've been ahead, this helps protect our lead thus potentially decreasing the amount of dropped points from winning positions, I thought Ferguson used the likes of Scholes and Giggs to help get control of the game when ahead and close it out well).

We celebrated 4th place? Maybe I missed that.
Ok so if we arent allowed to make fun of them can we say they probably wont win the title...?

Jesus Christ. The amount of shit he spouts. What the feck is he on about regarding terry being the player he is today because of him.

Obviously hasn't watched us. Sure our performances haven't been amazing but those players have added significant quality and depth.

When we come good in the attacking phase (hopefully soon although too dependent on Rooney learning to play striker again) I think we will look like a very good team.

It's just going to be strange that we look like we will be challenging on a robust defence which is uncharacteristic of us. Even when we have had a solid defence our attack has taken the limelight.

Oh dear Jose...you seriously?.....never mind!

No ADM (our most creative player last season, despite being a bit shit overall) and a messy stuation with DDG (our best player last season). Rooney and Carrick are a year older. Our attack is quite impotent. We'll talk again in several motnhs.

Perhaps..but we'll see..maybe I just feel weird that the things we used to mock the goonettes for is happening to us.

That makes literally no sense.
