So by your logic if some player has skills for La liga he can't learn some new skills which are necessary for PL?

Do you really think that after all his aerial feck ups they didn't try to coach him to be better at it in all these years he's been playing football? I doubt any of his prior clubs didn't attempt to make him better at coping with high balls but he's just not good at it, it's that simple, most players have a weak area in their game, it's just stupid that we are buying a guy who is weak in an area where it is vital in the league we play in.

We're never going to get a correct fee for De Gea, are we? It'll range from €20 million to £29 million.
The journos will end up saying we paid Real cash+Dave for Navas, who never wanted to come here in the first place and regards Van Gaal as an incorrigible buffoon.

If it's £29m including Navas, it's a shocking deal. If it's £29m + Navas, it's an excellent deal.

Even with 36 mill pounds for the 19 year old we still looking almost at 0 debt with Chica and ddg gone for about 36 million combined so we still can splash more money...

I already answered that, Leno or Karius, but Lloris is better suited to the PL than Navas.
Both are quite young for a goalkeeper with one of them having played regularly only since 2012. I don't know what you see in a GK to know who is gonna make it here or not. Is signing a rookie goalkeeper really the right time now when we just have a fixed stable defence in a long time? I am happy we went for Navas. He at least has experience .

Anyone who want so say that is not good deal is stupid.

Ofcourse i am as everyone disapointed that we are losing one of the best goalkeepers around but to get so much money and a great GK for a player in last year of his contract who would leave for nothing next season is a great deal.

Just a little reminder, many on this forum criticized LVG and Woody for not sorting this early when Real offered only 17m pounds and signing a GK like Leno or Lloris who are at the same level as Navas.

So he had lots and lots of aerial feck ups?

The right keepers are ones that have the attributes that are suited to the league we play in, Leno and Karius have them, Navas doesn't, so I'd go with a keeper that has the right skill set.

Which is 40m euro, which is approx £30m, which is what we've apparently been holding out for all summer.

A £29m fee for DDG is a good deal with a year left on his contract, but now some reports are saying we got the £29m + Navas on top. If thats true then it really is a good deal.

Every time a ball comes across he flaps at it so it's 50/50 on whether he gets a good connection or not as to how much trouble that leaves his defense scrambling to clean up, have you never seen him at all? You can get away with that in La Liga as he gets more freedom to punch as other than Atletico they don't rush the keeper physically on set pieces.

It's simple. If it's 29m including the valuation of Navas (let's say 10m) that's 19m from real plus Navas which isn't great.. However if it is 29m + Navas it's a decent deal financially.

He has a year left on his contract, was not going to play for us, 29m is a good fee unfortunately.
I'd rather spend on another keeper than Navas, but rather him than Cillesen

So we get a keeper and £25m.. Either way you want to work it out it's a good deal for someone with a year left.
£s or Euros though? Duckers tweet suggests Euros which wouldn't be as good a deal.

Surely it's this:

Real Madrid have paid 40m euros for De Gea.

We have paid them 15m euros for Navas (fair valuation and Louis apparently wanted him last season).

Therefore we receive 25m euros plus Navas.

That's definitely how I perceive Ducker's tweet there.

Financially we are really close to having a balanced transfer window which is strange to me so I assume there is another signing coming or maybe in January
