Wilson to WBA
To allow:
Berahino to Tottenham
To allow:
Kane to United.

My prediction.

Optimistic beyond belief.

we're not signing a big priced striker, we've just done that!

I expect tomorrow we'll be scuffling around trying to get Mane for monster money

Loaning Wilson makes sense.....if we already had some strikers. We've got to be planning something big tomorrow.

but the rumour mill is so quiet .... surely some leaks would be out by now if we were.

That would be good, Martial can play anywhere from LW, RW, CAM (SS) or ST apparently so he would be a good option off the bench this season and rotation too.

Expect there would still be moaning that we didn't get Berahino instead of Kane in that situation.
Berahino? The little shit that causes mayhem at his club constantly? Doesn't seem like he has the best attitude, to say the least.

We also aren't signing Kane. He's done nothing at the start of this season to suggest he's going to repeat last seasons form. Plus, you know, Levy and them having to replace him on the last day.

Pex....mate

You ruined my summer last season with your over confident Vidal signing.
It took me months to read your posts again. ;)

They aren't kids, Leno is 23 and has over a 150 games as the main man at Leverkusen. Plus there is nothing stabilizing about Navas as he can't command is area and can't catch the ball, he'll make our CB's more nervous than comfortable.
I think its natural for keepers playing in other league to punch the ball more often than not. I haven't seem much of Leno to judge him completely but is he likely to be as good as De Gea or Courtois for that matter? Some German posters suggested somewhere that Ter Stegen has more of potential than Leno while Leno is better right now.

The media don't have a clue what we're doing.

See Martial, BFS, Darmian etc...

We only find out when the other side leaks something and then all our journo's jump on and pretend they knew about it the whole time.

Regarding the circumstances yes it's arguably the best we could hope for...forgetting the circumstances though we're losing arguably the second best keeper in the world and will be very hard to replace him if we can at all
Totally get that and no one in their right mind actively wants DDG to leave but he wants to and there's not really anything we can do long-term to change that. All we can do is the best for us and I actually think that deal is pretty good going.

If I was a Real fan then I'd be thinking: 'we've got a great keeper but we've paid through the nose'

Given the circumstances surrounding DeGea and his obvious desire to leave, how can anyone say we have not achieved a good deal here?

Guy who can leave for free in 10 months and we get a big chunk of cash and a really good keeper in return. All those saying we are 'pathetic' and 'a joke' please just think it over for a second..

In terms of the situation and money, yeah of course it's a decent deal but what good is money in the bank when we've let our only world-class player go and (IMO) replaced with someone who can't come close to replacing DDG. The only 'excellent' deals are the ones that make us better, so you can't expect everyone to think we've got a great here - Madrid have got a world class keeper and got rid of want they didn't want...only one winner there.

I didn't think that when we bought RVP - I was delighted...and as if Madrid fans care about how much they spend.

It's always hard to judge just how far a talent can go, but to me Leno is more rounded than Stegen and certainly more suited to the PL with the attributes to get up there with Courtoius, although I have a fancy that Karius may leapfrog him. This is the main factor for me, the PL is a different animal in general to other leagues and certainly where the keeping position is concerned.

True. Moyes seemed like he wanted to give everyone a chance, even if he himself was not convinced.

you probably would "give a chance" to a squad who had sauntered to the previous year's title though wouldn't you

Clearly, we are working on bringing in another forward. We cannot let three attacking players go and replace them with Martial. Obviously, Fellaini and Memphis could be used as forwards too but it's not enough, IMO.
