Isn't this fiasco awfully similar to the Coentrao debacle? embarrassing for both clubs

Some intern probably got too excited with the news and forgot they dont comment on transfers.Feck!
De Gea stays?

The plot thickens. The Champions League tweet, supposedly confirming that David de Gea will be staying at Manchester United has now been deleted. Read into that would you wish.
How is it embarrassing for both clubs when Madrid didn't send the papers?
Has the news that Real may not have filed their paperwork at all changed your mind about this at all? Or at least made you think it is possible, IF that turns out to be true?
Had it on Yes all along. What do we all win?>Poll closed, no more changing your votes beeatches![]()
He really should've done. Whoever was advising him got that one wrong.
It's not ideal and possibly not even set in stone that he is staying. You'd hope the pro in him can focus quick and look forward to the Euros though.Didn't van Gaal say that he was lacking focus? Given De Gea wants the move, you don't need to be a psychiatrist to think it's likely his head is elsewhere.
Doesn't stop him being professional, but its not exactly ideal is it.
What is your suggestion, I mean what should have United done? Not really to be honest. Both clubs have been disappointing in letting it come down to the final day.
Anyway, like I said, generally I am not impressed with much of United's business in the last couple of years.
Its a fad. If you are not embarrassed by it, you are not a true fan!How is it embarrassing for both clubs when Madrid didn't send the papers?
I assumed that was the case but given our attempts to throw huge amounts of cash at him have failed, the money clearly isn't as important to him as the move.Apparently, according to the secret footballer, by not handing in a transfer request, a player ensures he gets a pay off. So if true, then DDG has to share some of the blame.

I have made my suggestion - we should have let him go for 15m.What is your suggestion, I mean what should have United done?

And bow down to the mighty Madrid?I have made my suggestion - we should have let him go for 15m.
The only thing I would have done differently, personally, is I wouldnt have dropped him. So I would have played Van Gaal's hand differently, but not Woodward's, in this instance. What is your suggestion, I mean what should have United done?
If he stays, I think he'll get a massively positive reception from the fans.

And sort out the GK position at our club. It's not bowing down - it's being sensible. And bow down to the mighty Madrid?
Not sure if that would change anything? The only thing I would have done differently, personally, is I wouldnt have dropped him. So I would have played Van Gaal's hand differently, but not Woodward's, in this instance.
Though I know you arent asking me.
Loving all the idle speculation on DDG's mental state. Didn't realise we had so many armchair psychiatrists here.
One of the benefits of saying feck all publicly I guess, the fans should still be pretty onside.
One year of world class goalkeeping, hopefully.Had it on Yes all along. What do we all win?>
We might have 3 extra points? But no, nothing specifically about this scenario. Not sure if that would change anything?
Well, either his agent made a mistake in thinking it wasn't required, and so he could indeed be assured of both the move and his loyalty bonus, or he was nervous of the thought of handing in a transfer request yet still failing to get the move and it angering the fans even more (which, to be fair, wouldn't be particularly paranoid - the reactions when players do hand in transfer requests are generally ridiculous, considering said player is agreeing to give up a bonus by doing so).Money AND the move presumably are. Why wouldn't he hand in a transfer request?
We might, yeah. Nobody knows. We might have 3 extra points? But no, nothing specifically about this scenario.
