Feck!

De Gea stays?
Posted at12:45

The plot thickens. The Champions League tweet, supposedly confirming that David de Gea will be staying at Manchester United has now been deleted. Read into that would you wish.
Some intern probably got too excited with the news and forgot they dont comment on transfers.

The question now is simply: How do we destroy this poisonous relationship with the crap singer before next summer?

We could give Anderson her phone number for a start:

Has the news that Real may not have filed their paperwork at all changed your mind about this at all? Or at least made you think it is possible, IF that turns out to be true?

Not really to be honest. Both clubs have been disappointing in letting it come down to the final day.

Anyway, like I said, generally I am not impressed with much of United's business in the last couple of years.

Good. We're going to need him because I don't see this team doing it's job at the other end of the pitch.

He'll get his head down for the Euro's.

He really should've done. Whoever was advising him got that one wrong.

Apparently, according to the secret footballer, by not handing in a transfer request, a player ensures he gets a pay off. So if true, then DDG has to share some of the blame.

Didn't van Gaal say that he was lacking focus? Given De Gea wants the move, you don't need to be a psychiatrist to think it's likely his head is elsewhere.

Doesn't stop him being professional, but its not exactly ideal is it.
It's not ideal and possibly not even set in stone that he is staying. You'd hope the pro in him can focus quick and look forward to the Euros though.

What is your suggestion, I mean what should have United done?

Can't believe DDG put us through all that, he looked happy and content in Manchester,i can't look at him the same again, i just need him to be world class for us.

If he stays, I think he'll get a massively positive reception from the fans.

I assumed that was the case but given our attempts to throw huge amounts of cash at him have failed, the money clearly isn't as important to him as the move.

He won't get playing against Liverpool. . It's like some of you have ignored what LVG is like. .

De Gea hasn't played a minute of football since July, if he wasn't focused before he certainly won't be now, so you think LvG is going to play, in his mind, a goalkeeper who is not match fit and who is lacking the focus and mentality, against Liverpool?

Seriously, there's positive thinking and then there is being deluded

Money AND the move presumably are. Why wouldn't he hand in a transfer request?

I'm still wondering if Madrid are going to take a crack at getting La Liga to agree a loan deal until they can register him. I know the loan rules are different to the transfer ones.

Its both good and bad and I'm not sure how its going to affect him mentally and good news is possible chance of him signing contract extension.
Also is that true that Real can't sign any until 2017 or so? transfer ban bla bla, read that some were.

Yeah I expect the same. Imagine after all this drama he went on to sign a new contract and stay with us for the next 10 years

I know, I'm dreaming now.

Never backed down from my yes :D
Didn't someone in here predict this very outcome? I Think I said get them to offload casillas and then pull the plug. Almost right, real just pulled it themselves.

What's probably going to happen now is that VG will tell him to get some matches under his belt by playing for the reserves. DDG will then do a Valdes. Happy days.

I did have "no" for a month or so but it was mostly set to "yes" so if there is a prize I demand a share of it.

Or else Ill run down my contract and then transfer my membership to another messageboard.

Loving all the idle speculation on DDG's mental state. Didn't realise we had so many armchair psychiatrists here.

They're heavily outnumbered though by the previously quiet South American goalkeeping experts although perhaps on a par with the plethora of bedroom based sports lawyers.

Its a right smorgasboard of professionals in here you know.

One of the benefits of saying feck all publicly I guess, the fans should still be pretty onside.

Even if the fans aren't particularly warm to him initially, a few very good performances will soon win them over.

Well, either his agent made a mistake in thinking it wasn't required, and so he could indeed be assured of both the move and his loyalty bonus, or he was nervous of the thought of handing in a transfer request yet still failing to get the move and it angering the fans even more (which, to be fair, wouldn't be particularly paranoid - the reactions when players do hand in transfer requests are generally ridiculous, considering said player is agreeing to give up a bonus by doing so).
