Bundesliga 2015/2016

Not that I mind as the German posters are usually the best around here, but why the hell are we seeing so many Bayern fans on RedCafe?

We're all migrating from the german part of the football related internet because it's stock full of wums, idiots and dickheads. And we can hardly seek shelter with the folks over at RAWK, can we?

Not that I mind as the German posters are usually the best around here, but why the hell are we seeing so many Bayern fans on RedCafe?

Just a German poster, not a Bayern fan, but my reasoning is this:
There's no English speaking neutral football forum that is actually good. And this place is seriously quite awesome. So if you wanna get the full international football forum experience you really don't have many options other than choosing a club forum. Due to the caf having good posters thanks to the newbie section and the layout being easy on the eye and advert free, the caf is definitely a great place to be for international posters.

It's annoying right? I feel less and less special with each new Bayern fan on the Caf. It's seriously depressing :(

I actually agree though. It's becoming too much. It's also got to the point where the German posters just keep bumping the German threads by themselves like it's happening right now, without any internation/English posters in between. That's just sad and not what I'm here for. :annoyed:

I'd also say that the Caf is one of the few forums on the internet who has a decent following for not only the Premier League, but also Bundesliga and La Liga. I love this thread personally.

We bullied the critics out of here, job well done. We should start to be a bit nicer and invite a few foreigners back into this thread though.

I think it's probably got more to do with the fact that Bayern are running away with the league again.

One plus point of this season for me anyway is seeing the return to form of Schalke. Signing Geis was excellent business for them.

:( I'm so ashamed now I wish the earth would open up and let me slide down back into the newbie section

I'm still unsure how they're doing it though.
They have 1 winger in the squad and he's 19.

Still, if Dortmund did do the unthinkable and beat Bayern, then they'd only be 1 point behind Bayern. I just think there's more chance of my left foot turning into a cat than Dortmund winning.

while I've got a good feeling about Sunday, I don't really get what's so unthinkable about a Dortmund win.

*20 (if you're referring to Meyer)

I think he's been using in the hole too. They're using Hoger and Choupa-Moting as wide forwards.

What's more incredible is they've kept 5 clean sheets in a row!

Maybe if we can get ItsEssexRob the match fixing octopus to put a few quid on Bayern the league would be wide open again!

Lewandowski and Costa are in incredible form. Best players in Europe right now imo. Dortmund always seem to have at least 1 mistake in them at the back and they've drawn their last 2 games (3 if you count the Europa). Everything points to Bayern winning pretty comfortably tbh.

I guess so. But since I'm paranoid about jinxes, I'll have to answer any post like yours with scepticism.

Well if you look at the Arsenal fans panicing about the fact that they play Bayern now back to back, there should be a reason why it's close to unthinkable. :p

Though i think Dortmund has a decent chance to sneak a point.

I almost forgot. At least anchan is gone, so the future shouldn't look too grim in regards to this thread being international.:lol:

Well for once Bayern is the biggest club in Germany with the most fans. But more important, Bayern fans have an obsession of how their club is portrayed in the international spotlight, they desperately want their club to be viewed as Europe's role model club. Hence a lot of fans register on non German football boards to fish for compliments, celebrate their club and defend it against any kind of criticism.
Most fans from other Bundesliga clubs don't care about the perception of their club outside of Germany.

(Having said that, redcafe is still quite lucky. The quality of the Bayern fans on here is far above the average Bayern fan you meet in Germany.)

Excellent way of putting it

Seriously now. I make a few posts and all of sudden everyone erupts how Bayern fans are crawling the place.
Feel like a Turkish guy moving to a Sachsen-Anhalt village, when all I want is to offer just another humbly decent Döner Bude option. I'm not even claiming mine will be better than Balu's special dürüm. Even the guy from another Bundesland has a pop at me just because he's the only one to sell Fischbrötchen. :(

I'd compare my posts to falafel actually.

Back to German football, Jogi nominated the following squad for the upcoming Euro qualifiers:

Goal:
1 Manuel Neuer (Bayern München), 22 Bernd Leno (Bayer Leverkusen), 12 Marc-Andre ter Stegen (FC Barcelona)

Good to see Leno finally being in the team. Surprised Zieler was kicked out though. There's really no reason at all to keep ter Stegen in the team other than feeling sorry for him. I get that it's tough and that it's important to support a talented young player who struggles. But it's really not fair to all the other talented young goalkeepers who are performing on a much much higher level.

Defense: 17 Jerome Boateng (Bayern München), 14 Emre Can (FC Liverpool), 6 Matthias Ginter (Borussia Dortmund), 3 Jonas Hector (1. FC Köln), 5 Mats Hummels (Borussia Dortmund), 2 Shkodran Mustafi (FC Valencia), 4 Sebastian Rudy (1899 Hoffenheim)

If he continues to start Can at rightback, I'll go ballistic. It's insane, Can shouldn't be anywhere near the team. I hope Ginter gets a chance. Surprised he left Höwedes out of the team, but it's probably better for him to carefully build up his fitness again.

Midfield: 21 Ilkay Gündogan (Borussia Dortmund), 20 Christoph Kramer (Bayer Leverkusen), 18 Toni Kroos (Real Madrid), 7 Bastian Schweinsteiger (Manchester United)

It's just weird that Lars Bender isn't part of the squad. I'd rather play him than Rudy at fullback or in midfield. Khedira is probably left out for the same reasons Höwedes is.

Attack: 16 Karim Bellarabi (Bayer Leverkusen), 19 Mario Götze (Bayern München), 23 Max Kruse (VfL Wolfsburg), 13 Thomas Müller (Bayern München), 8 Mesut Özil (FC Arsenal), 10 Lukas Podolski (Galatasaray Istanbul), 11 Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund), 9 Andre Schürrle (VfL Wolfsburg), 15 Kevin Volland (1899 Hoffenheim)

Podolski & Schürrle, but no Draxler? Seriously? I don't get it. I'd understand it if one of them has been an important part of the team and performed well for the nationalteam despite struggling at club level. But that's not the case at all. I wonder if Reus gets to start, he has been quite poor so far this season.

I'd like to see us start in Ireland with:

Özil Götze Müller
Kroos Gündogan
Schweini
Hector Hummels Boateng Ginter
Neuer

In my case, it's actually coincidental, since I happen to like Manchester United the most from all the English teams and for some reason can't stand German forums... they make me want to claw out my eyes and pull my brain through the nose. Imagine a Forum full of Anchans (god bless his soul)...

I think it's probably got more to do with the fact that Bayern are running away with the league again.

This is actually true. The CL is the true competition for Bayern, thus my main focus becomes European teams. And there's actually not many better forums than redcafe if you want to have meaningful talks about European football. I do try not to post too often, lest people realise what a dunce I really am. :)

I almost forgot. At least anchan is gone, so the future shouldn't look too grim in regards to this thread being international.:lol:

Anchan might have actually drawn people over here. The sheer spectacle he created whenever he had one of his bursts of cheerful ignorance was quite fantastic sometimes.

I can understand why he nominated Schürrle since he can be useful as an impact sub - certainly not instead of Draxler, but in general - but I've long stopped being bewildered by Löw's mancrush on Podolski. He'll probably nominate him until after he quit football. I just don't know what he's trying to accomplish. Oh well, Löw being Löw... poor Draxler must feel like an asshole.

Rudy is also a case that continues to baffle.

Poldi should start coming along as mascot, would have the same impact on the pitch and wouldn't take up a squad place.

Another 24 caps and he will match Matthäus's tally . Just 30 too, thought he would be older than that.

It's so so weird. He's already in 3rd place in the most caps list, 13 behind Klose. And it's not like he didn't have enough competition. He hasn't been a regular starter for 5 years now, has been consistently bad at club level and completely useless for the nationalteam, yet with appearances in friendlies and being subbed in a few times, he has added another 47 caps since the World Cup 2010 to his tally. It's completely insane. Young great talents who do well don't get a chance, yet he plays almost every time.

Löw has to have a bet going with someone that Podolski will surpass Matthäus. It's the only explanation.

Maybe Löw is keeping him around because he has a positive influence on the climate within the team.

He doesn't have to be in the squad to hang around. Just take him with the team if he's oh so important, but it's just crazy to clog up a spot in the squad while other players deserve it more.

Give him a job as part of the coaching team then. Or at least give other players the chance to play as a sub instead of giving him playing time when he has consistently proven over 5 years now that he really really should never ever be an option as a sub in a game that isn't a friendly.

Well at least it would be worth it just to see the 'tributes' flowing in once he breaks that record. Matthäus's reaction alone should be worth it .

Never thought about that, I like it. Go Podolski!!!
