Diego Costa, would explain all the touching he does. Maybe he just wants affection.
There should be harsher punishment already. Just wondering whether this will force the FA into action. Why?
Why do gay people need to announce their sexuality at all? Just get on with it, no need for a 'statement '. Not saying it must be a secret, but I see nothing wrong with his teammates and friends knowing, as it is nobody else's business. Each to their own and all that, but I do get tired of the whole victim thing or the 'everyone needs to accept my sexuality ' thing. Nobody cares, live your life.
That would be because he's a vile homophobe, who whilst discussing Lindegaard's comments in support of homosexuality, asked me why it was okay for me to have sex with men but it wouldn't be okay for him to have sex with animals.@Rozay You seem very angry for someone that doesn't care.
Jesus Christ. That would be because he's a vile homophobe, who whilst discussing Lindegaard's comments in support of homosexuality, asked me why it was okay for me to have sex with men but it wouldn't be okay for him to have sex with animals.

Sorry. I've reduced myself to petty passive aggressive comments, since then, thus far, but if he's going to engage in further debates on the topic I can't stop myself.

I most certainly know enough. You don't know me so shut the feck up.
Watch your attitude. You don't know me so shut the feck up.
You don't really believe that do you?
Ironic coming from someone who doesn't want people to express themselves. You don't know me so shut the feck up.
Watch your attitude.
If they don't come out the alternative is an "expose" in the daily mail. And doing it on their own terms is better than Richard Littlejohn being an absolute cnut about it.What part?
My point was simple, I think. People are straight. People are gay. It is not a new phenomenon in the UK, people are extremely sexuality open here, homosexuality is all over the media and in reality, so I don't see why footballers, gay or straight, need to talk about who they sleep with at all. It simply seems to emphasise an ideology that being gay is 'different ' or whatever, and the only way for it to be seen as a normal part of everyday life, which I imagine is the objective, is to simply get on with it.
I'm not saying a footballer should hide it, I'm saying I don't see the need for a press conference to announce it.
I don't see why people are responding to me with irrelevance like how Homosexuals are treated in Arab states and being thrown from buildings etc. If anything, it is there that you could do with press conferences and the like, not here where Graham Norton is treated no differently to Jonathan Ross. This is not Saudi. Homos and Heteros mix everyday. They are accepted in the UK. The more a person introduces himself firstly by his race, sexuality, religious belief or whatever - I'd the more it will be a topic of discussion.
Just live your life, this isn't Iran.

The reason footballers don't need to come out as Iranian is because chances are, you already know where they come from, and their birthday, and a whole lot of other inane shit.
As @FujiVice says, a lot of it is no doubt down to the fans. Rugby fans are awesome compared to football fans.
They're ramming it down our throats!I didn't mean come out as Iranian, I meant that I understand better the need for a homosexual in Iran to 'come out' as opposed to one in England. England seems very accepting in general, and for me, the constant referencing to a sexuality doesn't encourage progression.
Again, I haven't asked anyone to hide. I'm saying just be a gay man if indeed that is what you are.
It's not a constant referencing to sexuality, it's an individual who has been presumed straight for 20+ years standing up and saying "nah, I like men, thanks". England has 50 million or so people, and they're not all hippies.I didn't mean come out as Iranian, I meant that I understand better the need for a homosexual in Iran to 'come out' as opposed to one in England. You don't think "so what", if you thought "so what" you wouldn't be in this thread saying they need to shut to feck up. You would do what people actually don't care and just scroll past it without reading, like people who find my posts dull are doing right now.I understand what it means literally. I just think 'so what' is all?
Again, homosexuality is very much a part of Britain. What does it matter. 'Presumed straight'. People who don't know me probably presume I'm straight too. Thatis probably the case with most men, unless they behave effeminately.
All I'm saying is, a press conference by, I dunno, Phil Bardsley serves nothing than for him to now be referenced as, or at least thought of as, Phil Bardsley, the gay footballer. Right now he's just a footballer, who nobody knows, or cares, who he is sleeping with. It's his choice. I doubt the average football fan would just put their mortgage on the fact that Bardsley is straight because he's a footballer, so not convinced this whole 'presumed gay' thing goes any deeper than me assuming Louis Theroux is straight, which I do, simply because, well people do.

The reason footballers don't need to come out as Iranian or Jewish or a whole hose of other things is because chances are, you already know where they come from, and their birthday, and a whole lot of other inane shit before they even debut for your team. With sexuality, they're just assumed to be straight until they say otherwise, or alternatively, are outed by bigots like Littlejohn, I know which one I'd pick if I was a gay Premier League footballer.
Because that's what people are taught. There are countries around the world that still pretend they have no gay people around them, and it was like that in Europe until recent history. With people suspected otherwise being imprisoned, castrated or put to death. You don't get rid of that in a generation or two, it's going to be another couple generations until, with luck, it's not a big a deal. If you don't care, that's fine, scroll along and look at something you do care about. That's what plurality of press offers us.Your post shows what the real problem is, why would we assume anything and why would we "expose" anything. I'm sure you are right and the tabloids would make a big deal about a footballer kissing his boyfriend in the street, but I don't care about it, I would care about the picture, I would judge the look of the couple but I'm not going to think less about a player because he is gay.

Alright to take that example, if Louis Theroux turned out to be straight would you also berate him tweeting "Hey guys, I've got something to tell you, I am a homosexual man." and answering questions his fans tweet him? With Premier League footballers a press conference is needed because there are tens of millions of people across the world who watch them on a weekly basis, and they, unlike you pretend to, might actually care about them and might want to hear them speak about it. For example, the millions of gay people who are still in the closet and might need some inspiration.
You don't get to decide what it and isn't important for other people. The reason you've been called a vile homophobe is previously having compared gay sex to bestiality, and because you're repeating the same Richard Littlejohnesque bullshit in face of overwhelming logic. No, that doesn't work. I think it isn't important, so came in the thread to say so, as I can.
I said shut the f up to another poster who called me a 'vile homophobe ', as I also believe is my right.

Interracial sex had to go through the same process to be accepted. Starting with the abolishing of laws against it, to the first kiss on TV, to people being abandoned by their families. And it's still not fully accepted. People in interracial couples still get abused and are abandoned by their families, albeit to a very minute extent. Homosexuality has only really started this road a couple of decades ago so it's facetious to think it should be treated the same. You are not understanding here, I have no problem with the player who comes out, what I don't understand is the people who are hurt by it, I don't think that it should be a secret, I don't think that they should come out in the press, they should live their life and we will know about it the same way we know about the straight players, with a picture of them with their boyfriend, girlfriend.
I mean you don't see a player make a public statement in which he explains that he fancies black women and think that interracial couples are normal.
To me it is ridiculous that people can't be gay without it being a story or a PR event.

Quite.Effectively telling gay people how to express their sexuality is essentially saying "Ok, you can come out of the closet but don't tell anyone that I locked you in there...for years and years."
