He's steadied the ship but he's clearly not going to take us any further. Our brand of football is atrocious under him. Ideally I'd want him gone immediately but I don't see who we could get right now. If Pep is available in the summer it'd be criminal to ignore him.

Ancelotti says hello. But I suppose everyone including Chelsea are waiting to see if Pep renews.

We should really be talking to Pep and gauging his interest over a summer move. If he's interested, we should just thank LVG and see him out by the end of the season.

I'm still waiting for one of his substitutions to make a positive impact on a game. I genuinely can't remember a single instance where this has happened.

Today was a typical performance until 70 minutes, upon which time you'd expect a top manager to make a positive change and create 2-3 good chances. We did the total opposite and nearly got beat.

Needs to accept that something is wrong and now show he's willing to do something about it. There's too much talent there for this to be the best that they can offer. Rooney wasn't as bad as he has been in recent games today but once again you can still see the additional threat Martial offers going forward. We've already tried Rooney in a number of positions and it's not helped. The biggest change we can make is Rooney out and a genuine wide player in (lingad/Young) with Martial going up top. It's got to be worth a go.

Our results this season are basically the same. Constantly dropping points on the road and scraping by at home. Is that good enough?

The Rooney issue is a disgrace from a manager of his reputation.
How are our results the same? After 11 games we have 21 points - more than last season. And please dont say you are just comparing results vs last season, that is not a valid method for judging performances/results. Aside from people who just want to moan.

At home we've actually been pretty good... I agree with the Rooney point

He's created a team that is really hard to beat, but also a team that finds it really hard to score...the maths just doesn't work.

Take Rooney out of that team and replace him with anyone. I bet we look better because of it - Whats the point of having a striker who cannot score, hold up the ball or link up with his team mates?

Why does he also make the same substitutions? I really don't think he knows how to get the best out of this team. I understand he has a philosophy, but surely making the most of the type of players you have is more important!

and to think....we could of got Klopp if we all want him fired ASAP......

And Klopp already has Liverpool playing better. We're 18 months into management under LVG and we are still playing the same tumescent crap for long stretches as we did before. A capable manager will have his squad playing better in a few weeks, regardless of how hard the rebuild is.

City have beaten Palace twice this season... 5-1 in midweek.
Can't use that as an excuse this time..
Poor van Gaal

Have a feeling this the tide turning against him now. Too much garbage
Yeah and you can't really blame them. Personally I don't want him sacked(As long as we still get top 4)but I'm more coming to the view that this should be his last season.

Well unless we win the PL or CL which would make everything I said pointless.

A part from Rooney being replaced, which side we currently possess, could do better? We simply lack the quality. Only Martial looks like Manchester United quality up front right now.

my point is - LVG , this is his team. so either sell 20+ players or dump him out.

We are hard to beat but the amount of great chances the opposition misses are insane. We'd be lucky to get those sorts of chances over the course of 5 games.

Do you think our away form has improved from last season? That was our biggest downfall, and as I said, there's been no progress. We had a good home record last season too.

plus didnt boast about any philosoffeeeeeees or previous CVs and didnt need mammoth transfer budget either obviously, yet as you say is already working miracles. LVG isnt a world class manager at all.

Between the misses and an oustanding DDG, we haven't conceded that many chances. If he loses form we'll be fecked.r

Sick of him and his shite possession football. Feck off Louis you've got balls the size of premature conkers.

Our bench strength is absolutely weak. I cannot think of one player who could come in and change the game. He cleared out a lot of supposed dead wood but didn't bring in any quality at all.

To be fair how much of our being hard to beat is down to luck. Feels like in a lot of games, particularly against mid/low table teams, we give away a lot of good opportunities where we've saved by a a poor finish/DDG/last ditch tackle.

Hope this is his last season, there's too many good managers who will probably be available for us to sit around.

Perhaps true about the volume of chances we concede but when we give chances away you would expect a fair few to be finished off. Also everytime we give chances away it's in batches, the team lose their senses when under pressure

Yes, last season after 11 games we hadn't won away from home. This season we have already won 3.

another one of my points - one mistake away per match from being chelsea.

What else would you have done with that bench?

I meant we haven't conceded "goals" and not chances. Of course we have conceded too many chances.

The tide is definitely turning.

I think he thinks because the matchday fans aren't waving white hankies or openly booing the team everything is fine and we're all happy.

I can't stand his face. Closing my eyes every time the cameras on him. Even Moyes didn't annoy me as much.

Can't see the point of laying the blame elsewhere. It's all on him. This is his team and he chose NOT to enforce where he should.

His brand of football is dull and boring.

Pereira for Rooney on the left certainly.
Instead of which substitution? Lingard for Mata is the only sub that wasn't a necessity, and I can't see how your alternative would have been game breaking.

Yes, last season after 11 games we hadn't won away from home. This season we have already won 3.

Oh come on. Our fecking performances? Southampton and Everton were convincing results, but they both gifted us goals. The other away win was a terrible display, won by a single goal from a player LVG has fecked off on loan.
