Valdes not invited to UNICEF Charity Dinner | Calm down it's for first team squad and coaches

Spot on.

Drama queens with an anti LVG agenda or just a need to moan about the club again need to look elsewhere.

I'm looking forward to the day when this Valdes cnut is as far away from our club as possible.

The issue is, for all his egotistical ways, LVG should have the authority to have terminated Valdes contract with immediate effect when he allegedly didn't play for the reserves. Either the contracts aren't tight enough, or Valdes was within his rights.
Either way, when you strip it back, the club is hemorrhaging money in his wages and to be so obtuse about it just looks amateurish.

If LvG wasn't going to go down the forgive and forget route then club and player should have negotiated his contract release asap rather than have him hanging round the place like a bad smell.

There's nothing to this story really but it could all have been avoided.

And I'm sure you and other Liverpool fans hate sterling for merely wanting to leave the club.
There's nothing wrong with wanting to leave a club, but the way he handled the whole situation was very poor, and that's why so many Liverpool fans hate him. Same with Delph and Villa fans.

Valdes was the same. He tried to be bigger than the club and felt it beneath him to play in the reserve games. After we gave him a lifeline during rehabilitation.

This is a lot of fuss about nothing. Valdes isn't a part of the first team so wasn't invited.

Hemorrhaging money?? But overly dramatic don't you think?

Valdes hasn't been to one of these in ages so he's lacking Gala rhythm and thus wasn't selected.

We gave him ample opportunity to leave in the summer. It isn't our fault that he failed to find a club.

He can still contribute hugely to UNICEF without being invited to any party. This dinner wasn't for him by the way but let him rage through his wife on social media. It's funnier that way.

He would be perfect addition to Di Maria at PSG. Two 'victims', one escaped from evil Manchester United because he was burgled so he chose a safe place for his family in city infested with ISIS operatives, other one probably thinks his status is somehow more important than the actual help for ones being really in need.

Valdes wasn't invited because the last time United had a very posh & formal dinner, he embarrassed the club by throwing up on van Gaal's suit. Victor then apologised: "Don't worry, boss - I made sure that the white wine came up with the fish."

He isn't a first team member, simple as. He has no business being at an event for the first team. Varela, Powell, Goss, Tuanzebe, Weir, CBJ, Rashford, Rothwell, Harrop etc. aren't there so wtf would Valdes being doing there? These players have actually trained with or been apart of the first team squad. Is this more disgusting behaviour by van Gaal treating players like this?

Jesus Christ

The amount of folks that have their fangs on LVG over an irrelevant ingrate is remarkable.

People are ready to jump on to Lvg at any opportunity available.

Indeed, the amount of people on the first two pages calling him a cock and a prick is actually embarrassing - this place is turning into a proper shithole.

Valdes has nobody to blame for this situation but himself. LVG told him there was no place for him and we wanted rid and he had no real interest in going.

No doubt he is on some sort of weekly wage so will endure some more "suffering" to get some of the money back he lost. Players don't take on managers and win he's got some balls though to try it. I'd love to know how much he has earned for his 120 minutes of first team football in 15 months...

Also people seem to forget that United are not forcing him to stay, after Lvg decided to not take him to the U.S tour he had 45 days to find himself a club. He and his agent couldn't get a move for him because no one was ready to pay the money he wants, all this drama wouldn't have happened if he had sacrificed on some money to get a move.

Exactly, if he wanted to be playing football somewhere he could be. He would rather pick up his wage here and do nothing than play football and earn slightly less so what the feck has he got to moan about.

The fans having to contribute to this freeloaders wages you would think a few more people would see what a cnut he is. I'd fine him for every tweet he sends that produces shitty stories like this must be something in the contract to say we can if he brings the club into disrepute. As for the poster that said it will put of Barca players considering us then job done by LVG, who wants players that think they don't have to do the same as every other member of the squad.

Pathetic the club allowed this I'm afraid, it's a bloody charity gala!

Its nothing. Valdes is nothing but a big baby. He knows he's not wanted at United, he should just focus on getting the fvck out in January. This is not even a unique situation, every player who has ever totally fallen out of favor with a manager has been treated this way. Stephen Ireland and Bellamy at City, Di Canio vs Roeder at West Ham, Mourinho vs Casillas (who was also treated like shit after Mourinho left at the end of his playing career), Adebayor at Spurs etc. There are many more examples. Why should he represent united at an official event when he's nothing but a prop waiting to be offloaded?

Is there some way we can make the thread title clearer to help explain the situation?

Doesn't mean I don't think it's pretty sad he was overlooked for a charity gala, I'd imagine there was all manner of celebs attending that have nothing to do with the club. You'd fully expect Valdes to get an invite given he's contracted to the club and it's all in aid of charity.

Just seems a sad move if you ask me.

If I refused to do my job at work then was put out to pasture but dug my heels in and remained employed for as long as possible just to pick up a wage would I expect to be invited to the Christmas party? Get real.

You do realise he's not a member of the first team, yes?

Hope he turned up in his tux and van Vaal was stood there with his clipboard shaking his head. This wouldn't be a news story if it were any other club in the country.

In a way I am sad that there are no positive stories at all about United these days, I am sure someone like Mail or Mirror will probably publish this Valdes story as well.

Hang on a minute.

Can't he leave anytime he wants? Under that FIFA, Tevez 8% of games rule or whatever it is

Don't patronize me for having an opinion, I think it's pretty pathetic to leave him out. If it was anything other than a charity gala I'd understand as it happens it's in aid of Unicef.

I'm pretty sure they can put their differences aside for a good cause.

Why wasn't I invited to the Oscars? It's a bleedin' disgrace.

Seriously, how hard is it to understand? He's not a member of the first team!

Neither are 99% of the people in attendance.

What don't you understand, it's my opinion, it's not a big story but I'm entitled to think it's pretty sad to leave him out. He could have contributed to a good cause, it's not like he would have been stealing headlines or anything. Now because he's been left out it's made the club look bad in the media, all could have been avoided if he was just given a seat with his wife.
