Looks Decent. But that midfield is a little worrying for me. I hope it is Fellaini that plays as a 10 and Herrera as the 8.
Might be a reverse triangle that worked so well last season with Herrera and Fellaini as shuttlers. Hope so. Disappointing to see that Pereira is nothing getting a start. Memphis could have also done with a start. Oh well, stronge line-up, really ought to win this.

Strong team, but I really don't get LVG's theory behind the rotations. Feels like he's resting the wrong players ...

Memphis should start, give Martial a break. As poor as he has been, he could prove to be a nightmare against Sheffield and would be a good opportunity to restore his confidence.
With all this talk about players being in the "red-zone" and what not, I would assume that Martial is doing well and not at risk for being over-played.

Every time I've seen Pereira he's impressed. Can't for the life of me work out why he doesn't get a start in games like this.

Wish LVG would give Pereira opportunity. If not give a guy time against League One (or is it L2) club, then when exactly?

LVG did play him against Middlesborough.
I realise that you want more game time for youth players, but the FA Cup games are must win games, so need to use our best players.

These guys are pro athletes and half way into the season should be able to play having got 1 week rest.
Exactly. LVG wouldn't want to lose this as it could really be his last chance of winning a trophy at United.

    Rppmey starts.

@Twigginater isn't it great that our manager isn't clueless like Klopp and doesn't play all our important players in cup games against shit opponents?

The fans have been begging for that from the start of the season. But van Gaal usually either sticks to the 4-2-3-1 or on the rare ocassion goes 3 at the back. But yes, team is more than capable of knocking a couple past sheffield. Martial could have a field day if he is up for it.

LVG will probably rest key players on Tuesday saying they are in the red zone.

Nah, under what pressure? No chance of him going, or we would have done that before the window opened. There were enough reason. He's here for at least to end of season.

LVG will still want to do a good job.
Would he only want to win if he is threatened with the sack?

Schweinsteiger, Fellaini, Mata & Rooney are too slow.
Fellaini shouldn't be near that squad, let alone XI.
    0-0 again.
That said, with BJ in left back & Schweini playing his 5th defender role.... We may concede.

Also, the bizarre inclusion of Keane on the bench. Utterly bizarre.

Yuck. 6/11. Worst prediction all season

Thing is with Martial, he is the only player you know will create a goal scoring chance at least every game. It's risky not to play him, given that he is pretty much our only good attacking and no one else can consistently provide the threat he does.

Van Gaal should have started Pereira, Lingard or Memphis- and if they do badly sub them.

10/11 - Had Lingard down to start when really I should've known no matter what, Schweinsteiger plays.

Van Gaal should have started Pereira, Lingard or Memphis- and if they do badly sub them.

What if we are losing with these players and after subbing our senior players on, we end up losing the game?
The media, his bosses and fans will beg the question why he risked using lesser players, in our only winnable trophy?

We're not using our best players though, we're playing Fellaini and have dropped Schneiderlin. If he's willing to do that then there's surely no harm in playing Pereira instead of Fellaini who might be leaving this window anyway.

This no rotation policy from LVG is insane. The players will be fecked by the end of the season.

Surprisingly strong team. Hope Fellaini doesn't expose us in that midfield by leaving his partner high and dry. Not a lot of pace in team which is a concern. Other than that it should clearly be enough. Should being the key word. :nervous:

These guys are pro athletes and half way into the season should be able to play having got 1 week rest.

Right. Because we've not looked tired at any point this season so far right? Nor have we got a game in 3 days time either to contend with

Supporting United these days is like this.

Check line up, first thought is, that's not looking that strong.
Start struggling to think of who is actually missing that would improve it

Not sure if Fellaini or Rooney even, can be counted as best players. They'll hardly be best players for Aston Villa.

Memphis should start, give Martial a break. As poor as he has been, he could prove to be a nightmare against Sheffield and would be a good opportunity to restore his confidence.

I was thinking that too. Memphis needs a confidence boost more than Martial needs another start.

LVG is simply too scared to play fringe players in an FA cup tie...if we lose this then everyone will be calling for his head, again.

Agreed, can understand Rooney playing though, this'd be a good game for him to find a bit of form. Not sure why they'd play Fellaini over Pereira though, he's our most talented youngster by quite some distance (bar maybe Januzaj but it remains to be seen if he can fulfill his potential) so should be getting more minutes.

Got 10/11, had Cbj in my original lineup which would have meant 11/11 but changed it later to McNair.
