Cristiano Ronaldo - Performances (wums will be thread banned)

Let's just change the question a little, what kinda player can Ronaldo become if the goals start to dry up (I don't they will because Zlatan is much older is stll going strong).

A less useful player. The answer is the same for every player who has scoring as their best skill. Most players at that point go to a lower ranked club, or retire. Not picking on you here mate, however the entire "can he move back and start to be a midfielder" is an annoying question.

On today's performance, Ronaldo along with the rest of the team was awful. However as always, it is Real's defensive organization that is always lacking, ensuring they get penalized against the better teams.

I know and it is why I didn't formulate it like that.

I think he was out of control after the match. Happens sometimes. We all say some shit when things are not going as per plan, nothing unusual. Hope he talks to his team mates and apologizes. I am more interested in his actual game rather than off-field issues.

I don't get the debate tho, Ronaldo is what he is because he scores lots of goals, asking what would be of him without scoring is like wondering where could De Gea be goalkeeping if he didn't have upper limbs :D

Liverpool!

Really poor today. Even aside from the big chances missed, he offered very little and that's been a frequent occurrence this season. The comments after the game were just daft.

Is this a new thing though? Particularly the point on "he offered very little". I'm a huge fan of Ronaldo and would love him back here, but I don't enjoy watching him play anymore. He bores me due to the fact that his all round game has diminished because his sole aim is now to score goals. Not a bad trait to have but boring for me when it comes to watching the game.

I read what he said and he was talking about the physical and not what the press is trying to sale, he pointed to the pre season and the fact the best players are not playing because injuries and that accusation was the last nail on his coffin--Florentino's $$$ pre-season to Australia and China and the doctor nobody trusts but is the president's friend, everybody knows he's the reason for RM failure and with the pricks (fans) they have they really deserve him for another 10 years.

Excuses. LVG complained about our money making preseason schedule too. It's how it is at big clubs. Barcelona have had injuries too. That's not the difference between the two teams. If it was then Madrid wouldn't have 1 title in 8 seasons.

Plus it's odd to say these things when you've missed great chances that would have won the game for your team.

His PR team told him to say this probably. He definitely meant the other guys were not as good as he is.

It was weird timing, because he actually didnt have a good game that day so for him to say that its weird.

Not a very clever thing to say to be sure, but sometimes it's hard to blame the players. They get a camera shoved in their face just moments after a heartbreaking loss, including the negative record of being beaten at home three league games in a row by the same team. In his emotion he said something dumb (not wrong tbh). I can't imagine how hard it is for a player of his stature to have the terrible luck of having to compete with Messi, Neymar and Suarez. Or just to be playing in the same era as Messi. If he was ten years older he would've won 8 ballon d'ors in a row, now he has 'only' three. He was frustrated and spoke his mind nothing more, nothing less.

Been a while since I've actually seen him play well. Sure he's a goal machine but when he doesn't score, he's practically non-existent.

Just been the victim of a poor tackle right on his Achilles tendon too. Nasty one. Hobbling.

And now he's scored a FK having been hobbling for the past 2 mins.

Viva!! @SirAF

Another good freekick... Ronaldo has been scoring many quality "tap-in" lately...

Nearly scored an identical FK for the hatto.

This thread is like a fecking time loop. Just a bunch of people going round in circles really.

Yep, those 2 have been absolute monsters in Spain breaking records after records.

And yet people use Madrid's lack of silverware as a stick to boot Ronaldo with, as though it's in any way his fault. Ronaldo is the only Madrid player that has been consistently doing his job over the last few years.
