Cristiano Ronaldo - Performances (wums will be thread banned)

It seems he doesn't rank himself in that same bracket of players (Seeing as he hasn't suffered much from injury this season). So he either accidentally stated he wasn't as good as those guys or he thinks he is a level above them all.

In fact, Messi has been injured half the season. What the feck is he going on about?

God knows what he'd say if he has to spend a season playing alongside Fellaini and Lingard, not to mention the U21s we are playing in the first team now.

Ronaldo is hardly bashing his teammates. Calling out they aren't as good as the ones who are missing. It's the truth.

It's just very poor form though. Especially from one of the senior players...

It is made worse by the fact that he played terribly in the game as well.

They're all younger than him and he is their leader, he show "protect" them more.

Quotes are always hard to interpret by just reading. But he does mention or show intent in the quotes that he is not exactly trying to belittle his teammates. He realizes that the only way they would be catching up with a Barca side like this is if every one of their best players were fit throughout. Probably frustrated by what was probably the final nail in this season's league campaign.

Everyone has suffered injuries (Barca were even without Turan and Vidal for half a season), more than anything else he should be taking some blame for his poor performances overall rather than blaming something so generalized.

Barca are a far superior team. The synergy in a Barca or a Bayern team trumps Madrid in everyway possible. Anyway Ronaldo barely ever criticises himself so no surprises there.

Right you massive set of ballbags, I've deleted the schoolgirl bullshit about who's got the meanest internet haters and who's less of a cnut (they're both cnuts for different reasons, let it go).

Stop bringing Messi into every goddam (suits lol) discussion about Ronaldo and stop crying when someone criticises your crush.

Been really poor in the biggest games this season(bar Roma, thought he was good vs them imo). His all-around game has declined a lot.

That said, Real as a whole have been poor in big games this season, so you can't put the blame on him entirely.

Its time to come home Ronaldo :)

No way, we develop him and sell him to cover our debt mountain, Real get his best years, then we get him back at an inflated fee when his ego, but not his ability is at its peak.

Let Real keep him as he slides towards his retirement, I'm sure the frustration as his abilities slowly fade away will cause them a few problems along the way.

If he wasn't such a brilliant goal scorer he'd be playing low league as a winger this season

Must be sickening being his team mate.

Indeed. I'm sure the likes of Carrick and Rooney are far happier playing with Mata and Lingard than they were winning everything in sight with Ronaldo.

Also he hasn't scored in his last 5 games against Atléti.

Wow wow wow, WTF. Imagine Roy Keane saying that about his team mates...oh wait.

Perhaps someone has gotten too big for their own boots and the fact they can't raise their game to the level they needed to help their team win, and let's face it, it was a level only a few could ever reach, but still, that level of outburst is not what club would put up with if the player was at their peak. Ronaldo is done at real sadly I think.

To be fair to Keane, he wakes up in the morning and looks in the mirror and has a go at himself

"State of you, brushing your teeth like that. Rubbish! Gum disease awaits you, ye fecking cnut"

I think no one is trying to say that he should carry Real Madrid entire season all alone, but his team has needed him this season a lot and he hasn't been there as much as his reputation and his paycheck suggest.

There's some valid criticism against his performances and even if Madrid had the front 3 fit all along the season they could be a little far from Barcelona, who also lost Messi for a stint, Rafinha, Turan, Aleix, Alba... I would buy his arguments if we were in April and Madrid had just lost their chances because they were beaten by good teams while playing Jese, LV, Kovacic and all of those, but they're in this mess in February having dropped points against Sporting, Malaga, Betis... they even had their best 11 against Sporting! they also delivered poor performances against Granada, Celta with 10 man, Valencia. Better not tell what happened against Barcelona with their 11 best players

Anyway, there's a part of his comments that the media isn't mentioning enough, the one where he says "I don't know, maybe it's because the work we did at the preseason and the start of the season", he might be trying to protect Zidane while continue to blame Benitez, and while Benitez has a rather large body the time will come when this "sield" will crack. Benitez is gone, Real, James and Ronaldo "resurrected" at least 3 times under Zidane's management and today the team, Ronaldo included, looked as clueless as 2 months ago.

Was a great player but he's on a very noticeable decline and don't want him back here. Let Madrid have their own Rooney/Gerrard problem.

Come on man, give it a shot.

 It was a bit extreme indeed.

I don't get the debate tho, Ronaldo is what he is because he scores lots of goals, asking what would be of him without scoring is like wondering where could De Gea be goalkeeping if he didn't have upper limbs :D

Much of his 'dip' in form has to do with the shabby management situation this season at Real. I knew it would happen the minute Benitez was appointed. He should move to a more stable team to make full use of his last years, somewhere like PSG would be great for him, they've built a great platform over the year and he'll fit in like a glove over there, with his old mate Di Maria still playing fantastic over there. He'll actually be devastating at PSG and would have another great chapter in his career, if he moves.

Come on Vato, I take it you wish Barca nothing but the best?
Sorry, missed this post earlier.

Indeed a good point but you won't see me in a Barcelona's player performance thread after every game you play shit. Anyway, I was being a bit of a little girl earlier because the loss was still fresh. I'm good again. :D

Very much doubt he'd want to come to United anyway. He's been here , and done it. There is much easier leagues then the premiership for player in his 30's on a gradual decline, to earn one last massive contract, if for whatever reason he left Madrid.

Really poor today. Even aside from the big chances missed, he offered very little and that's been a frequent occurrence this season. The comments after the game were just daft.

Let's just change the question a little, what kinda player can Ronaldo become if the goals start to dry up (I don't they will because Zlatan is much older is stll going strong).
