Viva. @SirAF

Goal and an assist tonight at present. A bucket load of more shots mind.

Thought he had a good performance.

He's really become a superb goal scorer though. The way he anticipates the cross and attacks it. No one else better than him.

I'd say he's slowing down and his performances this season have been pretty awful for the majority but he's getting older and he's still got 40 goals this season, it's ridiculous.

If we had him this season we'd get goals just through sheer fear.

It must absolutely suck when you have a player that scores for goals regularly against Shit opposition. I mean if we had that we'd only be top of the league right now.

I'd love it if we had a player who could score 4 goals against WBA. Or Sunderland. Or Norwich. Or Bournemouth. Or any other team who we've been beaten by.
I rate Ronaldo very highly and it is amusing when you see MUFC fans, whose team is in 6th place and playing a boring brand of football, state that Ronaldo is not good enough to join MUFC.
He'd walk into most teams and immediately be their best player...as he would at MUFC.

I don't know about anyone else but I've enjoyed his recent performances. He looks lively and he is not going to beat players like he used to but he looks lean, the footwork is still super sharp and the goalscoring instinct is still there.

Great anticipation for his goal. His movement is phenomenal.

He has really developed into one of the best goalscorers of all time.

He's been one of the top 2 players in the world for like 9 consecutive years now, ridiculous.

Not really, xavi? Iniesta? That year everyone was saying sjneider should've won it over Messi? The goalscoring records are great but it feels like it blinds people to his actual performance level. Which is a shame because he's a great player and it would make it easier to appreciate that without the hyperbole people feel like he needs to take him up there to compete with Messi.

First half of the season Neymar completely eclipsed Ronaldo, since his 31st Birthday in around February he's started to pick up his performances.

Not just goalscoring he's actually starting to play well which he hasn't done in around 12 months now it's nice to see him dribble more in games again.

He's actually doing much better in the Champions League per 90 minutes than any other player, the goals at Malmo must have helped in his attacking score but he has been quite clinical in recent weeks eg against Roma.

@TheNewEra - Interesting (and I agree with your pre-birthday comment) but you know that Barcelona's style heavily influences some of those stats you've picked through it's sheer nature. Ronaldo is more often than not, the end point of Real's attacks so possession scores and forward passes are in turn, naturally weighted against him in that context. Again, not knocking your general point as I agreed with it, just realigning the context of the stats you picked. Truth be told, you didn't need the stats at all to certify your point, everyone should be able to see it with their naked eye in fairness.

I don't know Chances Created, Assists and forward passes are part of any player in the final third, Ronaldo actually does do quite a lot of that in each game (as much as they Barca players do), I think he's saving his energy for the Champions League based on his output though (not sure why).

I think why his attack score is so low in La Liga is his rant the other week about how he doesn't like playing with Jesé and the younger players, the Champions League they tend to have Benzema, Bale ready mostly and they seem more fired up for the CL.

This season Neymar, Suárez have been fit and on form the entire time which does help for Barca.

If he can score against Roma then no reason he can't against all of the Spanish giants (consistently) for a player of his caliber.

I think it's personally not down to Ronaldo it's the balance of the team they are suited to sprints not marathons right now and again that's down to Perez.

When it comes to football I appreciate Messi a lot but Ronaldo is I think the criticism is unwarranted, it's almost as if it's a "pick one" mentality like "Android, Apple".

Two great professionals and we won't see players like this again, I do think the Stats I picked are fair as he's a winger/striker and that's what he's doing each game :P

I truly wonder if he will ever regret his time at Madrid. Put those goal numbers in any other league and he would have won so much more.

My issue with him will probably be that he cant have a great game without scoring. Messi can amaze you with his passing and creativity where as Ronaldo pretty much has to score or he isn't in the game. Considering Messi can (usually) mach him for goals, its those extra things that separate them for me.

He is definitely not regretting it, he got his sunshine, good food, lives close to his homeland, two balon d'ors. The total package is worth more to him than a few extra team trophies.

Not now but when he is 50 and looks back, I think only then will it hit him. Messi will bow out with 10 leagues/5 CL's or something and still have the great goal numbers, individual trophies and sunshine etc.

He will never equal messi's trophy count, personal or on team level, no matter where he'd have played the past 6 years.

We should be all over him if we get the chance. He would kill in the Premier League, that we know. He would be a dream signing imo.
If not him, it would be a dream to take on Bale. Not sure if he wants to leave though, but there were some rumors some time ago that his wife would like to move back to England.

I think its important that we get a player that scare the shit out of the opponent.

Just missed a penalty. Is something wrong with him lately? His body language (waving his hands all the time) is annoying.
From what i've seen hes been booed by his own supporters a few times already this season over his form, he even had a go with some of his team mates but later said he was misquoted.

I think hes off in the summer and is probably frustrated with how much hes given Madrid and how hes been treated

EDIT another goal to add to his tally - crazy stats for a play "in decline"

Cristiano Ronaldo put his club rivalry aside to help out Barcelona star Neymar, according to television presenter, Kate Abdo.

The Real Madrid maestro has endured the wrath of the Nou Camp during their fierce battles in La Liga over the years, but Ronaldo was still happy to go out of his way to help Brazilian Neymar at the Ballon d'Or awards earlier this year.

'At the Ballon d'Or which I did in January, we do a little rehearsal with the players before they are going to go on stage for real,' Ballon d'Or gala presenter Abdo explained in an interview with Football Beyond Borders.

'He [Ronaldo] came out with Neymar, who is Brazilian and Ronaldo is Portuguese, so they both speak Portuguese, and although [Lionel] Messi and Neymar are team-mates, it was Ronaldo who took him around, showed him where he had to go, made sure everything was translated for him.

'He was just very kind and very caring towards Neymar, the way he looked out for him and made sure he knew what he was doing.

'And that's a side [of Ronaldo] maybe you don't expect.'

They wrote a whole article about that? G. Zuz Christ...

What was Ronaldo's relationship like with Jose?

Could we see another summer of endless speculation of a return?

Ronaldo said that while SAF was like a father figure for him in football he thinks that Mourinho is the best manager in the world.

I thought they didn't get on. Mourinho said R9 is the "real ronaldo." But then they are all fickle.

2014 - Jose Mourinho insists his relationship with Cristiano Ronaldo is 'non-existent' since he left Real Madrid and returned to Chelsea in 2013.

2015 - Ronaldo, "Work with Mourinho again? Why not? I've got two more years on my contract with Real Madrid, but no-one knows what the future holds"

That was when things were going well. They had plenty of issues with each other as well such as Mourinho claiming Luis Ronaldo was the "real" one, and saying that C.Ronaldo doesn't take advise well and thinks he knows everything. Ronaldo did speak well of him recently during the Chelsea debacle. Ups and downs I suppose, both are strong personalities.

What a hero. I bet Messi tripped his leg when he was walking on the stage, the cnut. But of course that's the side of Messi camera won't show.
