Martial vs Origi

Well, it is maybe a bit early for this thread. But Origi has progressed in leaps and bounds over the last months, so it is maybe worth to compare him to Martial. Both are the same age.

Martial is ahead of his development. His close control is amaizing and he can produce something out of nothing. In this department he is clearly better than Origi.

However, Origi is more powerful and maybe a bit quicker too. I sense a great potential in him. His first touch is heavy at imes but he's got quick feet, can change direction and can dribble well. His movement is good as well because he finds himself in good goalscoring positions quite often. He scored 2 goals vs Dortmund and missed at least 2-3 good chances.

Who is going to become the better player? Right now Martial is a safer bet, of course. But there is a sense of raw power about Origi. IMO, he can become a very special striker too.

People will probably get really defensive of Martial and fair enough. But Origi has done really well in the last few weeks, looks like he's had a big zap of confidence and is growing from it.
 
Martial in Klopp's system would be ridiculous.
 
People are overlooking Origi's close control and skill to beat defenders at close quarters. Maybe because they're focusing on his other good attributes.

Edit: I don't know who is or is going to be better. Both are outstanding.
 
Origi is a very good player, I just think Martial is a better one that is all.

Origi looks the more natural striker at the moment.
 
Martial hasn't played enough upfront to fully assess his striker capabilities, i would still take Martial the kid is special, he's done more this season and has had more moments of quality.
 
Origi is faster for sure, but Martial has much more ability to create something out of nothing. I think they'll both be very good players in their own right, playing in different systems. If you have someone feeding Origi and creating space for him to run into; he could be devastating. Martial just needs to improve his finishing; I think his overall game is there to carve out his own chances.
 
Origi is a more natural striker than Martial and has played more games upfront too. So comparing them as strikers would be unfair at this stage.

I personally prefer Martial, I think he has more potential and better ability but Origi has certainly performed better than I thought he would.

Well, some compared Januzaj to Cruyff on here, mistakes about the potential of young players happen all the time. Origi has the tools to make it though, he won't be like that French guy whose name escapes us.
 
Martial all day every day. Martial plays in a frankly crap and static attack.

Origi is benefiting from better players around him and playing in a more positive system. I'm not saying Origi is crap, I'm just saying Martial is better.
 
Origi looks like one of quite a few cracking youngsters who may or may not make it to the top, but Martial looks like he could be the best player in the world one day. No contest at the moment.

This!

Origi looks like he could make a very good striker but Martial has the ability to create something out of nothing with that fantastic change of pace and control. He also scores bread and butter goals coupled with an awareness of team mates positioning
 
From a neutral - Martial....just.

Both will be great players - both need more time to see properly. Origi will flourish under Klopp - impossible to see the best of Martial when he is played in Van Gaal's system
 
Rashford - Origi is more apt comparison at the moment. Origi is not at the same level as Martial.

Nah, seriously. Both are very good players, and in the last couple of games, Origi has shown the sort of promise he shown at the Euro's, when he forced his way into the Belgium side. Technically really good. Runs the channels well, presses, his back to goal play is excellent and he's started scoring goals. I just think Martial would nick it because of his dribbling, though. Don't get me wrong, Origi can dribble, and has really good ball control, but when Martial's in full flow, not many can handle him.
 
Both seems like good players, with great potential. Martial has had a better season, but one can say that is because Origi has not featured that much for Liverpool. I will wait and see how their second season turns out.
 
Martial looks to have more talent, but until he's playing in a decent attack I guess we'll never see how good he actually is.
