They won't have the little Vardyrat scurrying and diving around, so that's a bonus for us.

We have everything to play for and we can lay down a marker here for next season - one that says you don't come to Old Trafford expecting to win, especially if you need to win to seal the title. Do it on another day, somewhere else.

Leicester could struggle to get over the line if we beat them, I know they still have Everton at home but if any nerves set in and Everton should score first it may go pear-shaped for them. There will be a huge weight of fan expectations that day, the fans will be there expecting them to win the title.

Both teams played for a draw in the second half, they had just as many chances as we did. Heavy amounts of possession flatters to deceive when you talk about "domination".

Do you remember the game or are you going off a match report? United had more chances. Leicester had one great chance to score on a counter lead by Mahrez in the 66th (3 on 3 attack) but De Gea made his only significant save of the half.

I see us beating them 2-0 and if Everton are up for it (they've been much better away) they could snatch a 2-2 draw. Make them sweat for it.

People talking about Leicester imminent collapse again

Do you remember the game or are you going off a match report? United had more chances and corners in the second half and were more aggressive. The game petered out after the 75th, i'll say that
Remembering the game, I have it right here. I only just watched it a couple of days ago. I remember at the time watching it with the feeling that both sides in the second half were playing like they were happy for a draw. Leicester sitting back waiting to counter and us playing glacially slow possession football closer to the half way line than their box.

Kasper made a pretty routine save from Schweinsteiger who hit a header straight at him from a FK. BFS should have done better and probably our best chance of the half, directly after half time.

Mahrez torched Blind for pace to play a neat pass inside for Ulloa on a 3v3 and forced DDG into a fantastic leg save down low. Easily the best chance of the second half for both teams.

Albrighton had a shot from around 35 after robbing Darmian on the touchline blocked out of play from Carrick. Counted, but a nothing chance.

Ulloa had a turn and shot form just outside the area after a ball broke for him while he was unmarked (Blind completely losing his man). Should be doing better with the time and space.

Mata has a shot on the turn after a good ball from Depay, unmarked at the back stick and should be doing a lot better. It is snuffed quickly and the chance is blocked.
This shot at goal comes almost 28 minutes to the second after our first shot on goal in the second half above from BFS.

Depay has a ball passed over the top (he did not have the best game to be fair and his touched was erratic), under pressure and from a tight angle slices it out for a goal kick. Tough chance.

Drinkwater hits a chancey stab shot a few feet wide after a square ball from Kante all of 30+ yards out. Could have forced some save if on target, all in all a nothing chance.

Blind horribly runs out of the defensive line to chase down a pass and leaves Vardy to re-direct his attacking run in behind Smalling and goes one on one with De Gea, poor touch sends him to the edge of the area and he squares the ball to nobody. Scary but nothing comes of it.

Young goes down the outside and humps a cross in over the top and Kante at the back post heads out to Darmian who volleys (similar to his goal) over the bar from the edge of the area.... Not the best chance, nor on target.

United did not have more chances, nor the better chances. They only managed their other shot on target right at the start of the second half. It was half an hour before we even had a second attempt at goal which, to me, says we did not dominate that game at all. Only the possession.

We're talking about getting over the line to win the title. It's a completely different scenario from anything they've experienced so far this season.

Do you think then, they're just going to stroll into OT on Sunday and lift the title?

Nope but I'm sure they won't have much trouble winning it from here. Saying they could easily lose to United, draw to Everton, collapse, cease to exist, is just what we have seen all season - dismissal.

I really feel we will smash them. They are now entering the final corner of the last lap with Spurs hot on their heels. Any mistake and it could all go awfully bad for Leicester. For their sake, I hope they can win against Everton at home as that may be their best chance to seal the title.

Who said that? Don't put words in people's mouths simply in order to criticise them.

Seeing the finishing line can have an effect mentally in any sport. I'm not saying they won't win it, I'm saying getting over the line is not the cake-walk a lot of people seem to think.

Yeah everyone has been saying that for ages. That they'd never been in title race and MUST struggle towards the end. They've been even better recently.

Who will you be supporting on Sunday?

Why is that even a question? Of course United. If we had nothing to play for and Leicester needed 3 points I'd probably be indifferent. I'd not cheer another team. But right now we need these 3 points far more, Leicester have already won the title in my eyes.

Minutes silence/minutes applause is the sensible option here, YAWN being played at OT is just a bad idea, I'm sure most people would actually respect it in the context of the Hillsborough verdict this week, but it's too risky with the potential for it being wrecked by a minority and bringing United down.
It's like asking for a minute's silence for the Pope dying at a Rangers home game, just a bad idea....

Even if Leicester lose all 3 games they're winning the league. I predict a 2-1 win here for United.

    More than that mate.

Even if we were relegated already, bankrupt and playing in a near empty stadium and they needed 3 points to win the title, I would still want us to grind their arses into the ground.

I never want United to lose. Not to get rid of any lame manager or to fulfill some other teams fecking fairytale either.

We are quite solid at home but Leicester are a very good side and I can see them scoring despite our impressive defensive record. I predict a tight 1 - 1 draw in which we dominate the ball and play OK but concede a couple of chances on the break and let one in.

    Bit like the away game

Of course I'm wanting a United win. Couldn't care less about Leicester.

Minutes silence/applause would be well received by everyone involved but I think we could even see 96 seconds for the fallen?

Newcastle are doing a minutes applause so I read before.

Had Sky news on at work and this whole week they've been wanking themselves silly at the prospect of them winning it at Old Trafford. Even in the streets of Leicester they've already got the party balloons out ready to celebrate the title this weekend.

Well feck that, hope we twat them and make them wait.

Leicester fan at work has turned in to a proper arsehole these past couple of months when it became clear they were going to finish in the top four and possibly win the title. I hope we smash them tbh. I'll consider calling in sick on Tuesday if they win the league at Old Trafford..

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36122771

    • United have won the last six league and cup meetings at Old Trafford, conceding just once.
    • Louis van Gaal's side have only conceded seven goals in 17 home matches in the Premier League.
    • Claudio Ranieri's side have kept 12 clean sheets in 17 league matches since Boxing Day, including six of the last seven games.
    0-0 it is then.

    But:

    SAM's verdict
Most probable score: 1-1 Probability of draw: 30%
Probability of home win: 34% Probability of away win: 35%
SAM (Sports Analytics Machine) is a super-computer created by Professor Ian McHale at the University of Salford that is used to predict the outcome of football matches.

I have an issue with SAM's verdict.

    1. The probability of a draw is less like than either a home or away win, yet the prediction is for a draw.
    2. If you look at the percentages, they are so close together, that they are basically saying it will either be a home win, draw or away win

I took the full week off after that cnut Aguero's goal won it for City. Made no difference, they'll always be waiting for you :nervous: Best to save your sick leave

That's a very good idea 96 seconds of silence/applause, very fitting. Hopefully one or the other will happen.

What? 'Any mistake and this could be awfully bad'? They're 7 points ahead with 9 to play for. They can fail to win all remaining games and still win it. I doubt Tottenham are even going to win all their remaining games. You can hardly imagine having more room for error than Leicester have now, they need to win 1 game to be absolutely sure of title and they'll be playing poor Everton team at home and disinterested Chelsea team who don't want Tottenham to win it.

Defies belief how people still reckon this is a tight title race. I really think it's just because it's Leicester and not incredibly beautiful City team or amazingly wonderful Chelsea, there'd be no such talk.

People talking about Leicester imminent collapse again

    This is what I'm thinking.
LCFC to collapse and lose to teams like Everton, is another illogical argument which is being used.

    I will remind people:
1, LCFC have been the best (and most consistent) team for the whole season.
2, LCFC have the best current/recent form of any team in the league.
3, in their last game, they scored 4 goals.
I have no idea where this notion of a collapse is coming from.

    Agree 100%.

it comes from some people that still think you are Fergie's United, that had teams beaten before they got on the coach to go to Manchester

My mistake. I thought they were 5 points ahead.

I think the probability of Rooney playing in midfield is pretty close to 100%. LVG persisted with it last season; a journalist questioned his wisdom in doing so; he has a burning need to "prove he was right". Ego.

You clearly don't watch much sport then. Seeing the finishing line can sometimes have a very profound mental effect in any sport, hence the phrase "snatching defeat from the jaws of victory".

I'm not saying it will happen to Leicester, I'm just saying it will be interesting to see their reaction if we beat them.

Don't care about the title but, absolutely can't have them winning the title on our patch. Not that I think it will happen and actually confident that we'll beat them easily.

If LVG is smart, he'll look to hit them on the counter because I expect them the Leicester players to be desperate win it and will be trying to attack at every opportunity.

I think the opposite. They'll defend in depth and look to hit us on the break.

I find it fascinating that so many of you are so confident that we'll beat a team that has only lost 3 matches in 35, and one of those 3 only because of one stupid foul in the final minute of a match.

This game is going to be a battle. The truth is that they're the better team, they're in better form and they're far, far better managed.

If Mahrez, Kante and Okazaki are in their usual form they'll cause us all sorts of problems. If Schlupp starts again and plays like he did last week we'll struggle to deal with him. I think it's gonna be very difficult to break them down and get many chances.

I'm certainly not counting us out of this match by any means, but thinking it's gonna be a walk in the park is just silly. They have a chance to make history this weekend- whether they do it this weekend or next weekend against an awful Everton, they're going to win the title and their story is going to be remembered for a century. They're gonna be up for this match, and out for blood.

Hardly worth us turning up, really.

I honestly think Spurs drawing with WBA last Monday was the final nail in their coffin, Alli's suspension probably reinforced it. The players looked totally crestfallen at the end of the WBA game like they knew it was all over bar the shouting. Even if United beat or draw with Leicester I think a disheartened Spurs team will lose at Chelsea on Monday, who clearly will take great delight in inflicting defeat on their rivals. Even if Spurs rouse themselves and win at Chelsea in the wake of a United win/draw with Leicester, it's still a long shot for them.
