Of course it is. They don't nearly have the calibre in Europe that Real do, so despite their domestic triumphs, this is still proving to be a mountain they're struggling to summit.
I'd rather see them as the flavour of the month (in terms of Europe) than allow Barca or Real to continue this sheer dominance of the competition. And considering I meet something ridiculous like 20 Real Madrid fans for every 1 Atletico fan, that former option absolutely makes the most sense.
