This x1000, I don't think the bias is near as bad as alot of BM make it out to be and I think alot of City fans are just tetchy about criticism cause we went from being the lovable losers to not liked winners if that makes sense.

But we have to be honest we are going to get more stick than United because simply United have biggest fan base and are the most popular club. I think it suits the media to make City the bad guys when United are the worlds arguably biggest club. It creates a good media dynamic of the old traditionalist club who have always been successful having a hard time while their city rivals who used to be their whipping boys have sold their soul and become the bad guys to kick United while they are down. It makes sense when United fans bring alot more clicks and buy alot more papers than City fans simply because media need revenue.

But its not been near the amount of bias or deliberate tearing down BM thinks and reporters are just calling it as they see it with their maybe slightly traditionalist coloured glasses (United, Arsenal, Liverpool) etc... Its human nature to be biased against something that's come to take down what you love and I think City's rise has hit Liverpool and Spurs fans more than United because of CL qualification. Everyone needs a scapegoat for their own clubs failures and City's lotto win just happens to be it. United fans for what its worth seem to be more honest about it being their own teams and clubs doing than those other clubs who can't see their own faults.

Again, I agree to a certain extent. It doesn't bother me nearly as much as it used to but that doesn't mean I can't moan about it every now and then ;)
I will add that United get negative press too - probably more since Ferguson retired - and some United fans are sensitive to it too. Indeed, there's a thread today about an article on Sky Sports stating van Gaal won 1 trophy in 3 years at United when of course he was only there for 2 years. Being the pedant that I am, I'd have been quick to point out that particular innacuracy too if I was a United fan.

Sterling is close to the very last player you should be dropping from that side. His very presence forced Russia to be more conservative wherever he was, always looking out for him. If we had an attacker out there that was going to make something from nothing it was Sterling. That's not blue tinted specs, that's just him being the only even partially unpredictable attacker with pace.

Sterling has bags of potential-I thought he played well tonight. Beat his man numerous times, carried the ball well, his touch was overall good and he was often too quick for the rest of the team to keep up. He stays on the pitch and England win.

Pep has his work cut out for him for sure. Maybe Sterling wasnt ready for as big a club as this. I think Pep gives him a try for a year and we sell him next summer. Just a prediction.

We may bring in 8 players this summer, and surely others will leave after this season to make way for more next summer. I think Raheem could be one of those on their way out in summer 2017

There's no better way to delude yourself than to 'casually' mention something as if it's an irrefutable fact. From floodlights to Coronation Street characters, City have never been averse to talking themselves up.

I remember a couple of headlines saying Rashford killed City's title hopes and such. So whilst for a fan like you it could have been clear you weren't going to win it, points wise it's the derby defeat that set you back big time.

Funny that, because after the infamous 4-3 defeat, the BBC were quick ro remind the viewers that time should always be added for goal celebrations.

I even remember MOTD2 counting the time between Bellamy’s equalizer and United kicking off.

Yeah good post.

Everyone knows that, had it not been for winning the petro-dollar lottery, City wouldn't be in the position they're in now. There's no glamour or romance to their story, and that's why people give them stick and why they get less coverage than the more glamorous clubs.

Instead of moaning about the media coverage, City should just accept it. They've had outrageous good fortune, but the fact is that, after years of watching United hoover up trophies while their own club provided a case study in mismanagement, they're now a regular fixture in the CL and can bid for the world's best players. Who cares what a few journos say? They should just enjoy their period in the sun.

It's akin to when people lambast United for their crass commercial sponsorships. We have to accept they have a point, and most people on this forum seem to do that.

I really don't get this nonsense about bias in articles.

90% of articles I've read about Guardiola from UK journos fawn over him like he's a managerial messiah who's going to come in and win titles with ease. Even alongside speculation over what would be utterly stupid decisions on Guardiola's part - like swapping Hart for Ter Stegan - which if it were to happen would only highlight his lack of understanding of the requirements of the Prem. Your typical pundit or journo will happily refer to Jose as a 2 season man who doesn't care about youth, but never see them point out Guardiola's intention to hop clubs ever 3 years and his poor results in Europe despite managing the strongest side.

The media still portray their squad as being the best in the league despite clearly being 80% garbage, full of flops who are paid so much they can't shift them on, failing to pick up points against any of the top 8 last season, and finishing level with us.
 
When the season starts later on this year, and it come's to the F.A. Cup which no doubt the BBC will show along with BT Sport. If they show a match involving Manchester City let's see if they can be impartial or not. If not then I suggest that they should be swamped with E-Mails about being biased. We can't do anything about the BBC but we can with B.T. Sport, by saying that we will drop them and don't wish our subscription to continue any longer. If we all did that then maybe their will be a change in their attitude towards us.

Obviously it's bad news for us but if he doesn't want to play in the most competitive league in the world with one of the best teams playing in the champions league and winning trophies pretty much every season under the best manager in the world who's playing style suits him down to the ground, then I'm pretty sure he's got the bigger loss in this one. Problem is now we have to find someone else who would fulfill that role, and there aren't many out there who could do that apart from stones.
