Who said we wanted him???
No, we are one of the major attractions. We have the most sought after coach, playing in the most sought after league, playing in the most sought after European competition with the most sought after facilities. If Aymeric Laporte, playing in a team that settles for a mid table finish in the La Liga, rejects us he is the only person missing out. John Stones certainly won't blink at a move the same way Gundogan didn't blink at a move.
It's funny, I'm not actually that bothered that this one didn't happen. Was looking at costing a fortune and just recently had a horrendous injury. There are others out there, and personally I feel there's still a lot of potential in mangala and otamendi
Go for Ashley Williams and spend the rest on CM
Who said we wanted him???
Coward
Coward.
Coward
Must admit, that was my first thought
poor poor mentality from the player
sucks for the player though...0 ambition
Fook off now you Basque CONT!
I honestly couldn't give a flying one. He has been nothing, done nothing and not even had a cap for France yet. Its his loss and not ours, move on to the next target.
My thoughts are he had agreed to come and bottled it at the 11th hour shit bag, enjoy a trophyless career!
He can feck off and enjoy 8th place in La Liga year on year.
That smug smile Laporte has got on his face while signing his new contract.. Only had his eyes on the new contract it seems..
I Swear this is a ploy to just make us pay more, if Pep wants him he will get him
How about we have taken a look at his medical results/scenario from his injury and walked away at the price given and moved on to other targets hence his sudden loyalty?
Surely city knew his intentions? We would normally let it out we "cooled" our interest as not to be snubbed etc
Just be stuck with spending an utter fortune for overrated shite like Stones then.
Still bitter about the defeat 7 yrs ago![]()
The CityTV team had been working on graphics and editing footage in preparation for the announcement, so it's fair to say the club have been caught off-guard by this.
What news? How are they reacting to the Laporte news?
Pretty sure Fabian Delph made a U-turn after he just signed a new contract with Villa last season too.
Let's not get too carried away. Pretty sure Fabian Delph made a U-turn after he just signed a new contract with Villa last season too.
Yeah, he said Pogba to City was a done deal every season for the last 3 I think. He also had no idea about the Delph transfer last season if I remember correctly too.Hasn't the ITK god there got a lot of shouts wrong now? Sounds like he's just reading the gossip column then saying the players backed out when he's wrong.
Tolmie's Hairdoo is one. He is NOT itk. Absolutely not.Hasn't the ITK god there got a lot of shouts wrong now? Sounds like he's just reading the gossip column then saying the players backed out when he's wrong.
Well then City now have to pay about £25m more than originally thought. They wont. I'd be majorly surprisedLet's not get too carried away. Pretty sure Fabian Delph made a U-turn after he just signed a new contract with Villa last season too.
It's nothing surprising when it comes from that lot! The pure bitterness they must have from this!calling Laporte a coward and saying he bottled joining such a massive club

Reminds me of Garry Cook saying Milan "bottled it" over the Kaka dealIt's nothing surprising when it comes from that lot! The pure bitterness they must have from this!
Total lack of class on his part if he didn't even have the decency to inform the club of his decision, and he will regret it.
The kid is willingly turning down football at the highest level, trophies, success, Pep Guardiola and double the money to stick around at Bilbao.
Of course, he's missing out on Pep and playing for us, so it's a disastrous mistake.
The kid has shown a serious lack of ambition and has been badly advised and will regret his decision long term, loyalty may be an admirable trait but give me medals and silverware all day long.
he might have wondered how he'd get in the team.
Possibly also a bullet dodged, has he recovered from his broken leg and also he only promised potential, hasn't delivered yet.
The lad may of failed a medical and city may have pulled the plug on it due to its results giving the lad no choice as to sign a new deal.
Maybe we've seen sense at last, and just wern't prepared to pay a kings ransom for someone with a dodgy knee
If Pep can give Mangala a brain, we don't need him.
That's an enormous IF, granted.
Bonnuci it is then
F**k this guy...Get Bonucci
as one door closes, another opens. That Bonucci looks OK.
Worrying that we can't attract a player from some no mark Spanish outfit like Bilbao even with Pep at the helm.
I'm gobsmacked this kid hasn't joined... Maybe the pep and city lure isn't as big as we thought.
feckin hell, snubbed by an injured £40m 22 year old. Maybe one of the big Spanish clubs have told him to stay put for a year? Whatever, feck him.
They didn't get the PR release from their clubBluemoon certainly aren't "relaxed" about it are they?
Ragoganda. I like this term.He didn't hear the commentators say it this time because they're all watching the match with the tv muted to keep their minds free of Ragoganda.
Not to mention he's only 21 and has time on his side, could see him back on the market this time next year. Bilbao is a special case as well, they're different. They're big on promoting academy players, and only sign/play players from the Basque country; and I'm sure it really feels like a family there. Don't blame him if he feels he's happy and wants to stay a little longer.I think it's always nice when good players choose to stay at relatively smaller clubs (unless it's us they're turning down, then they can feck right off).
And I think this charge of "lack of ambition" is rather silly. What's more ambitious than staying at a club like Bilbao in order to try and help them achieve success?
