Farage reckons Leave took half of Labour voters.Nope, that would be the condescending campaign run by Cameron and Osborne.
How can you not see Labour have a serious problem under this guy?

Unpopular with the electorate... a pretty key factor when you have to get electedWhat was wrong with Gordon Brown?

From what I could gather here in Germany, Corbyn was said to be a closet LEAVE-supporter. If that's true, nobody should be surprised of his lack in engagement
Leave would have taken those votes regardless of who the Labour leader was. You can thank Cameron and Osborne for their shambolic campaign and the government's austerity measures. But ultimately it was the xenophobes that clinched the win for leave, something no Labour leader could do anything about it.
You honestly think the outcome would have been different with establishment shills like Kendall or Miliband at the helm?
You two might be right but it's become clear he's not the man to turn Labour around. As I said last night, Labour losses have feck all to do with Corbyn himself. This was happening back in 2015; it has been for a while. Corbyn isn't the problem, but he likely isn't a solution either.

His policies might be popular but the man himself isn't connecting with people.
I don't have any evidence but I'm pretty sure a charismatic, energetic leader of the Labour Party could have pulled the referendum in Remain's favour yesterday.
Right now, austerity is going to seriously hurt the working and middle classes, what labour needs to do is continue to fight on an anti-austerity platform as Corbyn has been doing, not give in to the charlatan vultures within the PLP who only care for their individual aspirations.
Replacing him with some Blairite drone would be a pointless regression at this stage.
No, but he has been leader for two votes and failed both tests. And he has hideously let down the young people who overwhelmingly supported him in the leadership election by not securing a Remain vote. Perhaps no Labour leader could have done. But he was in the driver's seat and has to take the blame.

A motion of no confidence as been tabled.

Nor was Cameron's; hence my previous post.I don't believe his heart was fully in it
He supported the losing side, sure. He wasn't at the forefront of their campaign though. I don't believe his heart was fully in it, tbh. I also don't believe he could have done much to sway Labour brexiters to vote remain, no matter how much more vigorous he had been. This was cross-party.
So just how seismic is today turning out to be?
I don't think JC is a typical politician, in that he will be far less ready than most of them to campaign vigorously for something he doesn't strongly believe in.Seriously? The vote was really close. It could have been swayed by a good Labour leader championing remain IMO.
I've never seen anything like today tbh. Albeit im 24.So just how seismic is today turning out to be?
26, if we're all stating our age. This is the lowest point for my country, in my life.I've never seen anything like today tbh. Albeit im 24.

We don't, I know. What I do know, however, is that my country has just chosen fear of immigration over all the sensible information telling us why we should remain. That's heartbreaking.Don't get too down about it. The truth is that we don't know what will transpire.

I wonder if Cameron / the new leader will try and make the trident vote around conference season - just to rock the boat a bit moreThe writing is on the wall for him. The young generation who made up most of his support have been let down and the MPs who were always sceptical have their perfect chance to remove him. I agree with his views on austerity and I like his way of politics which is not about image but of work. However he's not going to win an election so call time. Anti-Blairite leadership sounded great and Labour regardless had a lot of soul-searching to do but this leader has too much baggage to be successful.

That doesn't mean Labour should accept this shit show. At no point since he was elected has he even put the government under decent pressure. Even good days are magnificently turned to a clusterfeck. When Scotland goes independent it won't matter who the Labour leader is, England will be a Tory nation.
