What you expect doesn't mean much though. You also would have said Leicester had no chance of winning the league last year but they did. Real have a much better squad so they will undoubtedly be up there competing. Where will we be?
Judging by reports he is waiting for Real to make a move, hopefully they are put off by the price and we get a free, freeish run at him otherwise it will be difficult to convince him I imagine.

I think it's a long game. We all know how Ronaldo feels about him being the world's most expensive player (they even had to lower the sum of Bale's transfer in the press) - so, after we sign Pogba this summer we're getting Ronaldo back for a world-record fee in the next to replace Ibra 
I don't agree with that at all. Raiola is not a manager who pushes for transfers. He works for his clients and for what they want. I don't know why he has such a bad reputation here.

I'd back a record fee for Pogba, United need a player like him in midfield. It won't happen though. It's a poker game between Real and Juve and Mino uses United's interest to force Real to make the move.

Don't know really, I know they're not all writing lies and half truths but we rarely see accurate reporting when it comes to the movement of players until the deal is done, there seems, to me at least, a lot of shit being thrown at walls to see what sticks but that Di Marzio chap seems fairly clued up and certainly when he writes something on United people on here get very excited.
Pogba has a lot to do to meet expectation if he goes anywhere for the touted fees.

Won't be a popular opinion but I don't find any logic in spending record amounts on players who can't win the league on their own. Ronaldo, Bale, Hazard, Martial,Suarez are all attackers and while the fee may have seemed insane, one could atleast see the logic: the clubs felt that these players can win trophies on their own . Central midfielders can't win on their own and although good CM means better chances of winning, a good CM without good front 3/4 is useless
Not a Pogba fan but you can't rule out the Jose factor in signing big names. That said, Real need this signing and there aren't many other players available this season that matches Reals profile

They probably need to sell someone first and they dont want to sell Bale or Ronaldo.

Taking what he said in a literal sense? really? you know what he's getting at, and it's a fair point, Suarez for example dragged a midtable squad to within a point of the league title a couple years back, Pogba isn't anywhere close to that level.
Martial was with us last season and didnt win us the league, heck we didnt even get champions league with in the squad.

Ronaldo and possible Hazard to a degree won their respective teams the league when playing in the EPL, but when Ronaldo, Bale and Suarez joined Madrid and Barca they won the league not on their own but with the players around them. To say they won the league on their own is wide of the mark.

I'd definitely pay the large sum for Pogba. In a more advanced role, he'd rip defences apart with his creativity.

Teams can be successful with good attackers but not some not so great central midfielders in today's game but not vice versa- Wales, SAF's last season side, etc.

Agreed. I can't even begin to imagine what he'd need to achieve to be considered a success in relation to the fee. It's difficult enough for forwards who consistently put in match winning performances, never mind a midfielder.

Pogba will have to probably make himself a no. 10 and score a gazillion amount of goals to please people if he goes for 100 million plus. I don't care though, if he becomes one of the best box to box of his generation and leads successful campaigns for his club, it should be enough. Anyway, don't see this happening for United still.
If we can do it in addon type of deal then compare to 80mil Euro for Renato, this 120 mil deal may turn out. Pogba's huge marketable value plus Mourinho team hype on top of Manchester United marketing platform can help make 120 mil feel like 80 mil in a short time. Pogba is an established player so can be an instant boost in team performance. He was with us in England so would take less time to adapt. Is he qualified for homegrown requirement?

If you don't want it to be taken literal then don't keep saying it. How about Toni Kroos? Xavi? Iniesta? Even Paul Scholes, Roy Keane? did they not play CM and become the driving force behind their teams winning trophies.
