So in an ideal world, where would Pogba fit into a team to be at his best? I mean what type of midfielder(s) would you need alongside him for him to flourish?
@Rado_NThe transfer fee for Pogba really doesn't matter .. He pays for himself in terms of merchandising .. We would easily make back what we pay for him and more plus if he wants to leave in four years or so get a possible bigger fee than we paid in n the first place
Kante and Carrick. PerhapsSo in an ideal world, where would Pogba fit into a team to be at his best? I mean what type of midfielder(s) would you need alongside him for him to flourish?
This.
I can believe some of the skepticism on here at teh idea Pogba would want to cone to United, double or even triple his earnings and play in the PL for its one and only mega club.

So you'd put DMs instead of 1 and let pogba be in front of them?
Not happening. The player would never push for the move as his ambition is to play for Madrid. Wed be like second best and id always question his mentality much like Di Maria. In fact this situation is almost identical- Di Maria comes to United as PSG cant quite stump up the cash his head isnt in the game and he ends up moving next season for much cheaper.
Could happen here. He wants Madrid and he wont be sold on the idea of United as we let him down once before and Juve have no reason to sell what so ever. He is absolutely crucial to their success and their crown jewel. To make them sell we really would have to smash the record. I dont think anything below £100m will do it and innthat case Pogba is almost forced to come here.
All in all I dont see it.
We have not been in great form the last 3 years + no CL next year and Pogba is at a club where he wins the title every year but not CL.
The logical step for him would be Barcelona/Real Madrid, clubs that are almost guaranteed at least a semi final in the CL most years.
It's all fine that he loves the club, but players with real ambition mostly think about titles, he will not exactly go broke playing for Juventus.
He would be the creative player in a 4-3-3, with 1 dm and 2 cms.
A player like Radja Nainggolan would be great next to him, more defensive orientated but also good going forward. A deep lying playmaker like Carrick would be ideal for the DM role.
Pogba - Radja
----Carrick----
he's not leaving Roma. Turned down Chelsea.
"Sunny Italy"Paul Pogba is not coming to United! He left us for Juventus, felt mistreated by the club, what makes you think he now wants to go from sunny
Italy and back to rainy Manchester? This guy will join Barcelona or Real Madrid!
And anyway, why do we want him? Do we really want to buy back a player that left us on a free? And for the reported 100 million? I definetly hope we dont. Don't get me wrong, Pogba is a good player but i would much prefer Kroos for 40-50 million.
Back in the days, when we lured him from France, he said Manchester United is his dream club.Paul Pogba is not coming to United! He left us for Juventus, felt mistreated by the club, what makes you think he now wants to go from sunny

Firstly he wont join Barcelona. It wont happen. Secondly, why do we want him? Its simple. He is a beast of a player. We dont have a difference maker like him in our side. He will improve us for sure. Thirdly, we have no idea what the price is at the moment. Its ranges from £65m-90m. So lets not worry about that. Fourth, whats the problem in buying a player who left us before? Didnt we do it with Mark Hughes? Finally, Kroos aint available and if he is what makes you think he is going to want to move to United?Paul Pogba is not coming to United! How much is even £100m really? £30m for Bailly, £35m for Mkhitaryan, Ibra for free, add another centreback in John Stones for £45m and there's still £90m to spend if you believe the £200m papers have reported. Sell a few players, which we need to do as we have a surplus of midfielders, and we've brought in 5 good players, strengthened where we need to strengthen and not gone over budget.
If Ed would know how to sweet talk Chinese clubs into buying our surplus, we would feel like swapping old shirt for new shirt for penny. Considering how much these Chinese clubs spend on the like of Hulk, and offered for Ighalo (Watford). We could spend 200m and wind up with a net of 140 due to impending sales of several players.
It's gonna be unreal having Mou as manager making right football callswhy can't I get excited about this? I think I blew my wad with Jose. Nothing left in me. I'm spent.![]()

Yeah, right. Like he'll trade the warm, sunny winters of Turin for Manchester when hates the club and apparently has "Hala Madrid!" tattooed on his ass. However difficult it is to pull off, compared to other world class players, only this one seems to have chance of happening. Other big names we tried last couple of summers , like Neymar, Bale, Muller have zero chance of moving and we anyway are looking to strengthen in forward positions otherwise. Midfield is the area we need strengthening and there is chance of a world class player being available. It is another matter that a CDM like Kante could be better for us or is something we are more in need of.
Rooney to be shifted to RB then.A midfield three of Pogba Schneiderlin Herrera has everything you need with no passengers![]()
Lets give him ballboy duties to get him on the pitch at all times.Rooney to be shifted to RB then.

I think because at the moment, the squad is full of "average" midfielders already. In that sense, probably Woody is thinking of signing a "worldie" or potential one will raise the level a notch or two with Pogba. If that is the case, I don't see any lack of reasons to go all out for such players when United did try and bought a few midfielders already when the squad was severely lacking in that department. We have missed Renato but we all know the story already on that one. He does look like a potential worldie. Only time will tell.Maybe, the problem is that we can spend the summer trying to sign Pogba while other teams sign realistic midfielders like Pjanic, Gundogan, Renato Sanches, Kante, Krychowiak, among others. And at the end we could end up with an average midfielder instead of Pogba.
No, you're right, I don't understand it, I bow to your superior knowledge because you clearly are a muppet.Someone is still a little sour. This is transfer muppet mode/life. Im not sure you would understand it.
What about playing Pogba as a 10?
Prefer Schweinsteiger than Rooney but Rooney will always start, Rooney and Pogba can swap during the game.
Ibrahimovic
Martial - Pogba - Mkhitaryan
Rooney - Schneiderlin
The blind, unwavering optimism in this thread would bring a tear to a glass eye. I look forward to the inevitable mass muppet disappointment. Pogba is not coming back.

Am I the only one worried that Pogba might not want to come here?
Don't want a player that would rather be in Madrid

Lots of stories trending today about Pogba in talks with United over an 80m deal.
If Madrid don't want him yet I really don't think this is far fetched. Mourinho is pulling out the big guns and the opportunity to play under him and back at United for a while (where he never felt he got a fair crack in the PL) are pretty attractive.
Without having seen him play much in recent years, on principle I'm in the camp of I don't care how much the fee is, if he's young enough to sell on a few years later for a similar fee, whether that's slightly more or slightly less, that's fine. Transfer fees are only going up year on year.80m is fair amount. He is worth more than what KDB was last season, and add the United premium. He isn't worth what Bale was when he joined RM. So 80m sounds about right. I just hope we don't end up paying 100m to Juve because he is surely not worth that much
Don't. Want. Pogba, Hazard, Moura -you spurn United once, you stay out for good.
