There looks to be similarities but the differences are important.
If we play boring, stifling football and Pogba is shuffled around the pitch all season then, yes, I could see it ending similarly with a frustrated player in a situation he doesn't want to be in anymore. If we play well and win things, he'd almost certainly be an integral part and I can't see him wanting to jump ship immediately.
Nothing about Manchester or the club should be new to him. He doesn't have the wife and kids issue. Mourinho is far less rigid than LVG.

You could argue that we're only going to get him because of Woodward, do you think Fergie and Gill would ever spend this kind of money on a player they let go?

World class players require crazy money, and if we want them then we have to pay the going price, we could have had Hazard and Fergie didn't want to pay the agents fee, imagine what would have happened if we got him instead of Chelsea?
I'm a Herrera believer, but I really do think he'd fit the rest of the front 6 nicely with his passing and movement. My current depth chart if winning was the only concern, and assuming Mata and Rojo are sold.

That is just not true. Take 2014 world cup for instance. Neymar was carrying Brazil and only after his injury did Brazil shat themselves.
Ronaldo was already a Ballon d' Or winner when Madrid got him while Pogba is a bit overhyped. He is obviously very good but to compare his impending transfer to Ronaldo's one to Madrid is silly.
I hope the bold part is a joke. Especially the mention of Pogba as one fighting for BPITW when you have the likes of Muller, Aubameyang, Lewandowski, Suarez to name just a few off the top of my head. He was not even Juve's best midfielder when Vidal was there till a year back. Heck he is not even current Modric.

Pogba is 22 and was in the TOTY this year. So why is such a stretch that he would be mentioned in the same breath as the likes of Neymar? Both are the two best young players in the world in my eyes.
Ok, I think you're missing one key component: it's the branding power. Pogba has a branding power that Muller, Aubemeyang, Lewandowski can only dream of. Suarez missed the train. Bale is the only superstar that has the same kind of branding aura.
Paul Pogba is in line to be the next BPITW, his performances on the pitch will be sky rocketing while his performance off the pitch is already at the highest level: he's likeable, he's extrovert, he has some trade marks fashion... indeed, he will be massive.

Yeah 100m is ridiculous, but it would still be 150m net we've spent this summer. Not that much in our recent bigger picture, and it's not like we can't afford it.
Because they are not competing for the same positions. If that would have been the case, Neymar would be far, far ahead every time. Pogba is a very talented young player but a level below the likes of Modric currently and he has a very high potential but even Modric in his prime was not worth the crazy sum touted now for Pogba. A lot of it is coming because of the hype surrounding him.
You are underestimating Muller's branding power. Anyway, I get what you are saying and perhaps Pogba could be here to replace Rooney but he does not have anywhere near the off-field appeal as a Ronaldo or a Rooney for that matter. So I still don't see this massive global marketing appeal he will have.

I find TFM's forward run with ball and off the ball rather good, don't know about his shooting, scoring ability though. My opinion is that his attacking talents will be wasted if he is to be in DM position.
Muller is sponsored by Adidas. So is Pogba. Who is Adidas trademark player for the future? Not Muller, but Pogba. Adidas made that choice, we only have to wonder why. It's because Muller brandship power is too local, and too tied to the German market. Pogba on the other hand, appeals to almost everyone in the world. He played in England, in Italy, he's French of African descent. And he's good.
Maybe I am underestimating Muller's branding power, but so far, that's how I perceive things.
If we are spending 100M on him, hope he will be extremely good enough on his return.
