How have we not signed him yet.
Out of interest who would you prefer to spend the money on?Really hoping that this deal doesn't go through. Pogo is the most overrated player on the planet. He's worth about half the money and worst of all he was already on our books.
Big fan of his, bags of talent but we are just becoming a club that throws money around. It's making me sick. There's quality all over Europe in midfield absolutely no need to spend do much on one player who isn't even a goal scorer.
The only players i would ever spend 100 million Euros on are a Ronaldo, Messi or Neymar.
Huh?
You're looking at it from the perspective of an accountant, not a fan of football. I can't understand this way of thinking. If you thought he was a bad player then fine, I could understand you not wanting him. But to acknowledge he has bags of talent but then really hope we don't sign him because he's £50m over your valuation is ridiculous. He's clearly talented . But he is overrated. His play doesn't justify the price tag and i doubt you will ever recoup that money in terms of one the pitch performance.
Have to agree that we were chasing players way beyond our reach and who where never gonna sign for us. It feels a bit different now with Mourinho in charge and I believe we will sign Pogba. The transfer needs wrapped up quickly though if it drags on into the summer then we could be left scrambling for a panic buy. Set Pogba a deadline of 2 weeks from Monday - give him a week off to relax and not think about football. Then the second week to decide and get everything done.
Plus I don't fancy refreshing this thread 200 times a day for the next 6 weeks.

Wow seriously? Some of those names are far inferior to Pogba and others are simply different positions all together. William Carvalho? Must be joking.Paredes from Roma, Kovacic from Real, Pjanic from Roma (now gone), Gundogan from Dortmund (now gone), Samper (Barca), Jorginho (Napoli), Dahoud (Monchengladbach), Carvalho (Sporting) etc etc.
That's a lot of money to be wasting on a player. Which has been our policy the last couple of years and we have seen where that has taken us.
Depends on how you are looking at it. He's 23 years old. In around 4-5 years time he'll be in his prime. Even if he doesn't work out too well we can still probably sell him for a decent amount to PSG or other sugar daddy club.
It was 4.5m euro's a few posts a go, so which is it?
Feel free to show me something official from Juve on Pogba's wages? Otherwise it is pure speculation.

there was white text you numptyAh right, I didn't know you were on about the difference with ours. Had an idea that's what you were on about but you just went "10m a season so that equals 65m per season" ha!
@ChaddyP if I'm a Spurs fan you're a dipper, deal?
Value for money and principles don't win trophies. It's thank to that nonsense that we replaced Ronaldo with mediocre players and lost out on Hazard. And now some of you would be happy to see us buy 2-3 average players instead of buying one player who is regarded as one of the best players in the world by his peers.Im looking at from a value for money, influence, principle standpoint. Not to mention he will probably start angling for a Barca/Real move in the next few years.
To be fair, usually there's a good line of people here with masturbation jokes cued up.Queue = a line or sequence of people or vehicles awaiting their turn to be attended to or to proceed
Cue = a thing said or done that serves as a signal to an actor or other performer to enter or to begin their speech or performance
The post of mine that you've cited, namely "... you've spent the last three summers chasing players that are way beyond your reach, only to end up in last minute panic scrambles as the reality dawns" does NOT translate into "no player from a CL club will ever sign for United this summer", which is what you falsely claimed I've said.
It was intended that I thought there would be a number of jokes hence they would be queued rather than prompting jokes.Queue = a line or sequence of people or vehicles awaiting their turn to be attended to or to proceed
Cue = a thing said or done that serves as a signal to an actor or other performer to enter or to begin their speech or performance
"stop trying to compare transfer prices" if you are going to tell me to do something at lest give a reason why you think its not right, so I can put my point to you.
I was trying to use it as reference of how much money this is.
The term LANS (Like a new signing") for the players returning from injury has been coined by the great man Arsene Wenger himself.Every year, Arsenal fans say player X returning from injury "is like a new signing". Eboue, Wilshire, Fabregas, Ramsey, Eduardo, Walcott etc.
I don't really get the money argument to be honest. We should be signing the best player we can to improve us which I believe Mourinho has identified as Pogba and I agree since he has a lot of the attributes our midfield is missing.Pogba's play doesn't match his hype or price tag. I watch him quite often. Goes missing for long periods of games, plays in moments, sloppy, inconsistent but he is a highlight grabber. From a midfielder that's not what I like to see and doesn't fit the profile of the great midfielders i've watched who make the game revolve around them. He can definitely improve and Jose is probably the man to do it. But at that price?
I would want a combination of those players I listed who would cost around 40 million less and leave our whole midfield (after spending a lot of money on players who aren't up to the task) in much better shape. We will see how it goes nonetheless but i'm not a fan of the move.
To be fair i have only been on this forum for a month or so and most of the posts in the transfer section have been about getting cocks and knocking one out so i don't think it's a stretch to think that was my thinking.I'm not having that for one minute!!
Not that it matters, like, but come on!
For how long are we going to keep buying squad players, average players who cost less? We have enough of those already in midfield and in defense. Also the more players you buy the more time it takes them to settle down and gel. Here we are only getting one player.Pogba's play doesn't match his hype or price tag. I watch him quite often. Amazing isn't it. At the time Madrid bought Bale people on here were questioning the fee, wasn't worth it etc.If Real sign him for some stupid fee no one will bat an eyelid and he'll do well and they'll continue to challenge for the league and CL while we're trying to finish 4th with Felliani and a geriatric Carrick in the middle wondering why we can't turn it around.
We need to sign players like this.
This is exactly what so many here are trying to tell the naysayers for the past week but they dont seem to want to understand. They only see and listen to what they want.Vitaly from Real Galacticos had it spot on in his FullTimeDevils video he did. He said as a Real fan he's learned you dont pay for players based on their quality. You're paying for the brand, not just what he does on the pitch. He's a superstar in the making, if he isnt already. There's so many factors in a signing like this. Not just whether he gets it done on the pitch.
I wasn't being serious, but I didn't see the white text either. You're still a dipper fan to me nowthere was white text you numpty![]()
Cristiano Ronaldo was a Ballon D'or winner, so it's not quite the same.Amazing isn't it. At the time Madrid bought Bale people on here were questioning the fee, wasn't worth it etc.
Now all of a sudden we are in the same situation with Pogba and some people just can't get there head around the money it takes. I wonder if some Madrid fans didn't want Ronaldo because it was such a huge cost? god no![]()
Out of all the names he listed you chose Carvalho to pick on. Anytime I see the boy he's class, not spectacular but still class in his positionWow seriously? Some of those names are far inferior to Pogba and others are simply different positions all together. William Carvalho? Must be joking.
Pogba is potentially a winner too, he's just unlucky he's got 2 of the greatest players of the modern era in his way. I am not doubting 100m is a little over what he's "worth", but generally transfer fee's aren't what a player is worth, it's how much Juve are willing to lose him for.Cristiano Ronaldo was a Ballon D'or winner, so it's not quite the same.
