Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

He seems to really love playing for Juve and might be happy to stay there unless one of top 3 clubs in Europe may come in for him. He might see Utd as a chapter he wants to move on from no matter how much we offer.

Would absolutely love him here but would settle for Matuidi, Sissoko and Will Hughes if Pogba says no
My sides are killing me from laughing at that post. What on earth are you on to think that lot would help us get back to the top?

Should I stay camped on this thread, or is it time to remove the tent and head to another transfer thread?
The inner muppet is very confused right now. Needs a good or comforting news.

While we are at it would you also like us to get Ighalo, Vardy and Drinkwater?

It aint over till its over. This is still very much ON. One small quote doesnt change that.

I hope you are trying to jest with this post. Even the Scousers are laughing at the idea of buying Sissoko from Newcastle, the guy shows up two games a season against a certain Chelsea side. And why Will Hughes?

From several articles, lists of expensive goalies, euros to pounds converters etc etc. Buffon is still the world's most expensive goalkeeper, even after all these years.

Governments inflation calculator estimates roughly what you say, approximately £48 million, but I'd argue that you can't use inflation as an accurate measure of football transfer increases.

The combined live TV rights for the Premier League sold for 1.1bn back in 2001 (split between BSkyB and NTL...[yes NTL]).

The combined live TV rights sold last year for 5.1bn with the contract starting this season (predominantly BT Sport and Sky). That is a monumental increase, a 364% increase to be precise.

Applying that increase to the £32.6 million paid for Buffon in 2001 (32.6 * 3.64) you get a figure around the £118.5 million mark.

Depends how you view the market, but I trust an ex investment banker to have conducted the necessary feasibility studies to have come to the numbers that they have (and in order to beat the competition). You simply don't spend over 100 million without having done the maths first.

Moussa Sissoko :lol::lol::lol:

Been absolute pants for a Newcastle side that has just been relegated but lets sign him based off a handful of games where he ran around a bit.

Please don't split in half. There's gonna be very few available top central mids available if Pogba stays there. So we may have to resort to a plan B signing like Schneiderlin, Rojo were etc

Last summer nobody was talking about Delli Ali or Kante. I'm sure your sides were splitting last summer at the mention of those two also

Get out....:)

We need a CM or two. Zero faith in Carrick & Schweinsteiger staying fit let alone play well. Fellaini - no comment. Rooney is also no longer a CM option (thank god). Herrera & Schneiderlin left.

Why would Juve agree to sell him next year to Real for less money? It's not logical.

Returning to Manchester isn't the hell on earth for Pogba that people are painting it as.
If he has a season ending injury half way through the season?

United sell between 1.2 -1.5 million shirts per year.

Lets say for this point they sell 1.5 million.

On each shirt sold, each club who have Adidas kits receive 12 euro’s per shirt.

12 x 1.5m = 18m euros per year.

Lets say EVERY SINGLE UNITED SHIRT sold next season has Pogba on the back – it is still impossible for it to pay his transfer fee and unlikely itll cover his wages.

This is why the shirt selling statement is all a nonsense. An image painted by the media that doesn’t reflect the reality.

Also bear in mind this is Euro’s and not pounds.

Additionally, you'd have to assume that United would sell 0 shirts if they didn't sign Pogba. Because the analysis should of incremental shirts sold vs. year before. So if a team sells 1.0m shirts, signs a big player and then sells 1.2m, the impact to be considered should be only the 0.2m shirts.

I've no idea who came up with this back when Beckham transferred to RM.

If he has a season ending injury half way through the season?

Pretty sure in this hypothetical there would be contingencies in any agreement that if he suffered an injury the transfer could be voided. Unless that cnut Perez wants him so bad he would waive the medical precautions.

Hopefully this deal is resolved one way or the other very soon. Would seem to me he wants to go to Spain next. So would prefer we pass on him and move onto another target. He's not really a loyal player and we'd be paying way over the odds on a very good but not great player.

Maybe we were being used to force Madrid into bidding for him. Now that Madrid have pulled out, Raiola sees no point in continuing the charade and Pogba stays another season at Juventus till one of the Spanish two make a move?

Because he has come out and said he wants to play for one of Barca or Madrid? And why is this a criteria? Has every United player so far been "loyal"?

I'm sorry, must have missed it but where are this rejected 112 million pound reports coming from.

Before the next wave of pessimism does the rounds, let me remind that it's not just Raiola doing this 'charade', people like Keys, di Marzio and even our own Paddy Crerand seemed convinced.

Paul? Where's that coming from?

Never bank on ITK's for a start. We can be confident. Unless someone was on holiday or at the Euro's - then we've not heard much about who the forth player would be. Most people assume Pogba and it's probably a good assumption. Of course i'm joking and making a point. This deal is going to be a slow burner so expect there to be lots of ups and down. Best to give the thread a break

Maybe you should not only throw money after him, but also some furniture and make it happen!

so why is everyone losing their shit, or is it stampede time where one person panicks and all follow suit
Its the later because Riola came out and said there is a chance Pogba is not going to move this summer because Juventus want to renew his contract.

Paddy? I'd believe my next door neighbor before I believe him. He doesnt know shit. He seems convinced the day before LVG was sacked that he was going to be here next season.

Yeh I saw that part, which is clearly him wumming again but just seemed like all of a sudden all thought that Juve did some crazy shit like reject our bid of 100 +.

Oh man...this place is epic gold sometimes...some couldnt wait Euro to be finished, thinking that it would bring Pogba faster, even wishing France to lose sooner because of that.Day after Euro final and everything went totally in opposite direction of theirs expectations
