Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Seems like he is getting the best deal possible either way.

Also Juve have gone from 4/1 to 5/6. Now odds mean feck all but probably represents the general feeling, being literally 50:50.

Nah, I'm really not. You've obviously got a life so haven't seen this argument being played out a few times in this thread. Fwiw I agree with you, he's not worth anything like the figures quoted. Then again, it's not my money. Or something.

Like you I don't care about the money, it's no business of mine, and if truth be told I'd quite like Pogba here, but if Pogba doesn't fancy it, or Juve don't want sell then fair enough, no harm done, we just sign someone else. My point was that contrary to popular opinion there are other midfielders out there.

Anyway Jose won't arse about like the past two jokers did, so we'll know soon enough.

Mino Raiola is just using one of the oldest tricks in book. Put insecurity into the buyer. I'm almos sure all the figures are already negotiated, now it's all about media politics and timing.

I want Pogba! But he's not the only one who fits the bill.

If the deal collapse then so be it, Mourinho will find new player to buy. With our spending power, the wages we can offer, then there will be plenty of other quality players who wants to join us.

This is probabaly done by the end of the week so at this stage is no need to worry.

Where's the idea coming from that Juve wanting him to stay is a new development? That's been the case since the start.
Yep. And that's where the small matter of our 120m bid comes in.

I'm surprised everyone is freaking out so quickly, surely most have the sense to realise that there are plenty of twists and turns yet. It was never going to be Monday, done.

Because he has come out and said he wants to play for one of Barca or Madrid? And why is this a criteria? Has every United player so far been "loyal"?

Not every player has ran down his contract & left United! Usually they are gotten rid of, rather than choosing to leave.
I prefer players coming here to believe they're playing for the best club in the world. Would you prefer players who'd want to use us as a stepping stone?
I know not many contracted players come out & state which clubs they want to join, are you expecting that?

This place is stupid sometimes. Those moaning about being bored or going in meltdown mode over this transfer (2 week saga) can i remind you? This will be the biggest transfer ever in football history. Expect alot of tennis action with this one. I think some people seen how quick we moved on the last three signings and expect big deals like this to happen overnight. It wont officially but i think it will happen.

Di Marzio must be drunk right now, he keeps Tweeting the same Pogba and Inbra story every few minutes!

Mino Raiola, the famous agent of Paul Pogba spoke to Calciomercato on the phone, the agent commented on the possible sale of the Frenchman:
“Juve doesn’t want to sell Pogba, they want to keep him for a long time. And he doesn’t feel like leaving either. Will he stay? I can’t exclude a departure to another club because the transfer window is long, it ends in September. There’s an open channel between me and every club worldwide, not just Manchester United”.

Me too. Hate it when it drags on like this.

I'd say Feck Raiola and his Pogba. Next.
Drags on?! The Euro final is only 24 hours old which Pogba played every minute of.

A little patience is required especially for what is likely to be the biggest transfer in football history if it happens.

So many drama queens on here soiling their knickers. Raiola is playing to Juve especially now that the Euros are over. I will rather wait for the outcome of their meeting and if there's a chair involved then it's on like Donkey Kong!

I don't know why people say fair play to Juve if they turn it down. Don't forget a great big wad of cash won't help them in the champions league. They might eventually reject purely because they can't get players in who make the offer worthwhile. We just have to see how it plays out. I'm sure we'll see alternatives talked about but I think it's just a show for now. In general I can see why Sir Alex disliked this agent. He's a joker.

Rails is using us as his cash cow. F*** off is what I' saying to him.

Latest quote from Raiola means: " Real Madrid have informed me that they can't afford to pay that for Pogba so I'm pretending that maybe Pogba will stay at Juve to ensure that Man Utd pay the maximum fee and I get my maximum commission"

In a nutshell.

I thought that you were here for the ride, guys. The outcome is irrelevant.

So Raiolas been on the phone with 3 or 4 separate outlets today. Conveniently just as Real supposedly pulled out of the deal. Seems to me he's trying to achieve 3 things:
1. Ensure United pay up and dont bail on the fee
2. Keep Juve happy by saying they don't want to sell him making them look awesome to their fans and
3. Make Pogba look good to Juve fans should he leave eventually since you know he's happy staying there

Posturing all over the place.

Your post explains why?

If they were using us for a wage increase - why would they choose a club who is in the Europa league? His agent said clubs but the only clubs we've seen linked to Pogba is Madrid and United. This isn't a ramos type situation. If you remember our interest in Ramos happened very suddenly at a time people thought all the speculation would be about De Gea.

Raiola pulling the kind of stunt that has earned him a bad reputation amongst many. SAF and Guardiola dislike him as does that cnut Florentino in Madrid.

It will still happen though. United is literally doing the offer that you cannot refuse to Juve. The offer is the equivalent to a third of their yearly turnover. They have a great squad, scouts and coaches and can still put together a team that can challenge for the CL. They should take he money and run.

Don't care. I'll make a big deal of it when it happens. I'm not gonna drool for 3 months like a hungry dog following a c*nt with a bone. It happened way too often in the last few years and it was embarrassing every time (besides it almost never ends well anyway).

If Pogba wants to come, welcome, if his agent is gonna act like c*nt and play games then let him play alone. There is really no ground whatsoever for believing that he will join us at this point (apart from the usual media nonsense).

I suspect some people think Juventus want to hold onto their best players to build a great team as opposed to being fearful they wouldn't bring in quality replacements. One is strong intention, the other is out of fear. I think logically they wouldn't refuse the money but I think actually they would look at what happened to us when we sold Ronaldo - and the lack of quality we brought in. I think the biggest problem is Juventus and their ability to get the players they would want. That's the only possible issue I could imagine.

Personally I suspect it's the latter and that's why I wouldn't give them credit if they rejected it. I think it would be because they couldn't get in the players to make the offer worthwhile. I could be wrong of course.

So we feck up and dont offer him a contract before his contract runs out and in addition to that we dont play him when we didnt have specialist midfielders in the entire squad and you are blaming him for leaving?

I've never seen people lose faith in something so quickly, especially after such a small development.

honestly think he wants to join us, but juve are going to try sign some other players first before joining. Unfortunately it's going to go to the wire I have a feeling.

What is Di Marzio trying to say by pointing out thw old Zlatan quote?

Not to trust what Raiola says in public?

No, I'm not judging him based on the Euro although a lot can be said about his individual performance in it too. The times I saw him play against stronger opponents for Juve he never lacked confidence but also nothing too special to be called world class?

Agreed 101%....Can't think of the last time I watched him and thought ' Wish we would sign him '

Even more so now that £100 million is the asking price.

Missed out on a fair bit, what's the current status? He still signing an extension with Juve and as a result we're the most embarrassing club in the world?
