I think United can wait at least the 3 weeks Pogba's taking a vacation to sign him. But Mourinho might jump the gun and grab someone earlier, if he feels the deal is not going through. If the 4th priority signing substitute is Matuidi, though, we might wait the same time, no use rushing cause he's taking vacations too.

Apparently, if its not done by the Community Shield Jose wants to move on. Id expect he wants it done a lot earlier than that too. The community shield week is the week Pogba is meant to be back in training too.

From following the rollercoaster of this thread throughout, I'm now scared there will be some actual confirmation of his signing in the remaining time, and that would probably somehow signal the plane pitching down to earth immediately

So hypothetically lets say we spend £100m + £30m +£25m on the three players. Thats £155m on buying players. We sell players for an estimated £35m. So thats a net spend of £120m which means we spent around £60m on him. Does that make you feel better?

That's the going rate for actual quality talent now a days mate. If you want someone who will improve the team drastically, which Pogba would, that's how much you need to pay. Players like Verratti, Griezmann, Bale, Lewandowksi would go for even more.
I'd bet young promising players like Coman and Martial wouldn't go for that much less, perhaps £70-80m? feck we spent £36-50m depending on add ons for Martial when no one had heard of him!

Our deal with adidas will reduce significantly if we dont make the UCL two years in a row. And if you dont know who is available why do you say lets go sign two world class players. After the agent's comments today, I believe the deal is either closed or about to be closed. He's just posturing for whatever reason. Pogba not worth that money but I have to believe Ed and Co have worked out what he's worth from a 'branding' point of view, which makes it worth it for them from a commercial point of view. Can't believe we'd spend £100M just to make a 'statement'.
On another note, Pogba is obviously very good, but it's huge risk, and I don't know how he'd handle the pressure and scrutiny that will come his way if he doesn't start off with a bang - especially with our shit press. That's another big worry for me with this potential transfer. Sure hope Jose knows what he's doing here....

Pogba at United can become a proper global megastar.
People are talking as if he is the finished product and wont improve anymore and hence he isnt worth the fee. He has so much potential. He can add so much to his game. And its crazy to think he will get better when he is already this good. He has played in England and knows the game. He wont have a problem settling in. He is a marketing superstar as well. I dont see any problem with this deal.
Like i said id rather spend that amount next year on the right player. I dont think 100m is worth it. We will make top four next year dont worry. We dont need to be spending such a huge amount of money right now.

Really? 3rd behind those two?! Honestly I'm shocked. Of course I don't understand about branding/marketing etc, and so would have no idea what target audience Pogba appeals to. For me, there's no charisma or such, but I suppose they wouldn't be targeting my age group

I think he is overated tbh. Hes a good player. He is 23 now i dont know how much more he can improve. I guess thats my biggest problem. I dont think hes that good a player, im sure im in the minority
