Open to offers
I think the days of seeing our creative players being stifled is over now that LVG is gone.
Dortmund didn't, they continued to say he wasn't for sale before a period of no communication until they said we had made an improved offer that they would put before the board over the weekend then tweeting they agreed to sell.Dortumnd had their asking price agreed & Zlatan was a free agent. Not comparable at all to Pogba really.

I think Pogba will thrive under Mourinho. It's why I am so excited about this.Ok to keep on topic, do we think Pogba will improve under Mourinho?
Pogba strikes me as an instinctive and creative player. Mourinho likes players to be able to play in a regimented manner, hence his binning of Mata at chelsea (and most likely united). Is Mourinho the man to get the most out of him or will he end up being stifled?
I'm hopeful that should he come, Mourinho will improve his consistancy but not take the flair and imagination out of his game

If Van Gaal was still manager, I wouldn't be so fussed because Pogba's game is all about beating a player in midfield and unleashing a shot from outside the box.
We have lacked this kind of midfielder for many years now.
Actually, who was the last player who was similar to Pogba to play for us? Apart from Pogba of course![]()
Wait until we're tracking a flight to Manchester. This thread nearly has a million views already.![]()
Martial proves that it works I suppose! Spend £50m on a player and you get quality. Spend £100m on a player and hopefully he'll be amazing.Wait until we're tracking a flight to Manchester.
I'm in the camp that think United need to spend big to go big. Last three seasons have left us in a right mess in several areas. We've only bought short term replacements for one of the longest voids in the team since Scholes retired. Fletcher was declining. Anderson was fat. Carrick is old. Rooney is old and fat and not a midfielder. Kagawa and Mata were bought for one position and played another. Total misuse of both. Fellaini speaks for himself. Basti is injury prone. Schneiderlin is the only glimmer of hope for a descent midfielder in the last 5 seasons and he was nowhere near the form he was at Southampton. Hopefully He regains his form under Jose and can partner Herrera or another incoming midfielder along with Pogba, that is if we sign Pogba.
I'm just going of actual comms from the clubs rather then reports but hopefully the same with Pogba and Juventus and they agree a fee.It was reported they wanted the figure we eventually paid for IIRC.
There's a whole bunch of posters in this thread who say he isn't a box to box centre midfielder. Maybe I'm old fashioned but I prefer a player who has a role, a role at which he's best at and that we can all agree on.
When you see that Napoli want 80 mil for Higuain, 100 mil for Pogba is almost a bargain considering he's not even in his prime/peak yet. And we'll get 4-5 years at least of him at his best potentially.
Agreed, he's definitely box to box, as he favours moving from one line to another before delivering a pass. He definitely needs a defensive support to thrive. Maybe he can be a 10 with a broader coverage (sort of free electron). When he improves his shooting, he will add another skill to the list he already has. They're wrong, unless we've got different definitions of what a box to box midfielder is.
Basically, he's a strong, quick, aggressive, dynamic player who has an eye for goal and can create who gets about the pitch with ease. Isn't tremendous in defence but won't shy away from doing it. What he isn't (at the moment at least) is a number 10 in a traditional sense of the word.
Its probably a moot point anyway since rooney will almost certainly get played at number 10. Whether thats a good thing is another story but Mourinho seems to value the image that comes with club stalwarts if terry is anything to go by. He kept him in the team long past his best.

I'm curious what deadline Mourinho has given before ending interest in Pogba, if it came to it. No doubt pogba needs to get over the final (win or loss), but presumably his future would be cleared up before jetting off for a break.
Any new info coming out tonight?
Problem is..... after reading every statement by any caf member, I get more confused..... more and more confused.
The good part about Vidal thread was that no body was against that transfer
Wait a few hours. Di Marzio usually posts updates on this around midnight.Any new info coming out tonight?
Thanks and yeah he usually comes out with this stuff later.Wait a few hours. Di Marzio usually posts updates on this around midnight.
Every fecking transfer! Every fecking transfer, there's always arguments about price.
Fecking ruining the transfer window on this forum.
Will he improve us massively? Yes
Does our coach want him? He is desperate for him
Is he wanted by other top clubs? Yes
Can the club easily afford him? Yes.
In today's world, virtually every transfer is overpriced. BUT WHY THE FECK SHOULD WE CARE.
If he comes here and fulfills his potential. He'd be worth more than £100m to us. He'd be priceless.
Would I sell Anthony Martial for £100m. Would I feck. Ofcourse not.
Just back home after being out all day, been through the thread and it's all about Swag, Drake, Marketability, some ITK and Gerrard.
So basically, nothing's happened and everyone had to find something to talk about.
Nothing will i think until the end of this week.Just back home after being out all day, been through the thread and it's all about Swag, Drake, Marketability, some ITK and Gerrard.

We are working on exterminating the swag, drake brigade from this thread.

I hope so, you come home to find an update and it's impossible to find one in this mess.
Guess should just stick to the tweets notifications.
I just hope for the sake of sanity of this forum that Pogba actually signs for United.

Nah the Caf has survived much worse!I just hope for the sake of sanity of this forum that Pogba actually signs for United.
But Acquireme is not there![]()
These numbers are absolutely huge. You don't invest these kind of sums without the the input of external factors that are probably even bigger than football. Some transfers transcend the sport and this would be one of them. The risks are massive with all parties. Juve losing the jewel in their crown, Italian football is losing one of their high profile players, Pogba is going back to a club that failed to recognise his potential and Real represent the glamour model of football. Man Utd investment is massive and failure isn't only the club but equally Jose's judgement. Can Adidas and others be associated with the first 100m player that fails? The stakes are high....
