Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

When they brought out the tops of Juve and Madrid, they should have brought out a picture of Ibrahimovic.....just to see what he says. "I Had a nice meal with ma new team mate. Shit"...Something like that :)

This is a done deal. Don't you think if Pogba had zero intention of leaving Juve that he wouldn't have put the rumours to bed ages ago? This is going on for weeks now, literally weeks! Juve will never ever turn down the kind of ridiculous money we are offering, just never! And do you think a player like Pogba wouldn't want to be the first 100M player in the history of football? Cmon lads, this is so done.
m going for pure guesswork, but my reading on the situation is that Pogba is still holding out for Madrid. Knows they won't match United's offer if it became a bidding war. So Pogba is in 2 minds whether to stay at Juve another year and wait for Madrid or join United on a short contract (3 years) and hope to join Madrid in 2/3 years from United.

United probably are wary of it so will want to try offering him a longer contract. Also I think Juve will be hard to negotiate with, they'll want to keep him but will sell if they get 100m and Pogba says he wants to go

So all in all, I still think it will be a tough one to pull off

Problem with this summer is we got a lot of business done early. Now Pogba is the only player we're linked with, so we're spending all my muppet quota in this thread.

6 pages or so since the morning. Does that mean that there's something going on or just arguing about the fee?

I am sure that Ibra would have put a good word for us. He's the Cantona of the Serie A and people listen to him there. Mourinho is also an icon in Italy, he's not exactly a SAF (he hasnt been there long enough) but he's quite respected. Ibra+Mou makes us quite fashionable in the Serie A. It would be like Juventus trying to poach Harry Kane after signing SAF as manager and getting Gareth Bale

However I also believe that Pogba will torture us big time before signing. He hasn't left in good terms and he will make us pay for that. Also he must be 100% sure that SAF has no say in what happens at United and he wouldnt try to get one over him.

Pogba to ESPYS: "Juve is my home, my family, there they very happy and I want to stay."

I think its fake...

It's not he said but after that he said that United was his first family and that if Mourinho asked him to comeback he won't know what to say, "maybe".

He could have squashed the rumours there and then if he refused to pick a jersey and he apparently loves juventus so much this is so on.

There are of course further claims of quotes speeding their way around social media, with claims Pogba has said he’s very happy at Juventus… which everyone knew anyway.

Further still, there claims that Pogba has said he wants to stay where he is, but without the full video there’s no way of us verifying this.

Update: Having found another video, when Pogba is handed the Manchester United shirt, he says it was his “first family” and then when asked if they telephoned would he return, he’s very noncommittal and goes on to say “I don’t know, we’ll see, we’ll see”.

When asked which of the shirts he wanted for next season, Pogba said “I’ll take all three.”

Of course we treated him like shit. Let put things clear, if we had a Paul Scholes and a Roy Keane in their prime backed by Beckham and Butt (also in their prime) then losing Pogba because we cant give him games would have been considered as correlated damage. However that's not the case. SAF has a shit CM with just 1 decent midfielder in it and despite our CM was in shambles he went into great lengths (calling players out of retirement and playing right backs there) to keep Pogba out. That was feckin idiotic.

Ultimately Pogba won and we lost...big time. We're the ones throwing millions at him to return and he's doing well in torturing us and expecting us to pay top money for it.

Its ironic that some (including myself) criticize Mou for letting De Bruyne go for cheap when our legend left a potential 100m worth of talent go on free because he couldn't bother giving him games especially considering the type of shite he had in our CM at the time

I don't want to totally blame fergie for the feck up with pogba, but? pogba could have waited a little bit longer and who knows, but pogba looks like he did not want to wait which the worst part was he won we lost. On the flip side, it showed a fergie no longer ambitious in his kind of squad he set out, when our spine is apart from DDG, 2 ageing CB's in ferdinand and vidic, mediocre in carrick and cleverly, and rooney and RVP upfront, with garbage on the wings in valencia and young. Still at times it always got under my skin on how fergie managed to overlook pogba for rafeal and park in CM, I was like what the hell? so its always different emotions, don't want to totally blame fergie, but fergie never helped himself by what he did. It partly almost blows the myth of ferguson's legacy when it came to kids at times, jose mourinho is called out on the fact he never plays kids, yet one of fergie's biggest blunders by many was losing an 18 year old pogba for nothing, because he never give him enough games. Pogba could have been a bit more patient, but fergie made a huge mess up, which summed up fergie's last few years at united. I say it was a mix of fergie not giving pogba more game time at times, and pogba taking it to heart on why he was overlooked when probably there was bigger plans for him at united

I dont agree.
The done deal is they wait to see if we commit to offering the fee they say they want, before offering the lad a huge new deal to stay.

Juventus don't need the money and he will still be rich beyond measure if he stays or if he goes.

His agent gets a huge wedge of cash regardless so there's nothing done about it at all.

He could just have refused to answer or denied returning to Manchester. But he didn't. From Pogboff to Progbon in one morning. I love this. He's coming home.

Exactly. He's being polite on live national television. Not committing to anything and not ruling anything out, just typical football PR. This Juve fan has twisted it to his own liking and is trying to get people scared. It's literally no further than we were 2 days ago, apart from the fact he hasn't actually said he wants to stay at Juve. If anything it's a positive sign IMO.

Why not read it? there's far to much to simply explain.

No there isn't.

Seems a Juve fan blog attributed some fake quotes to Pogba which made the thread brick itself (naturally) and it all turned out to be bollocks in the end.

Also there were some "Salty Real lol" posts in there for good measure.

Do we have anyone that can translate this yet?
Pogba when asked about man utd - that's my first family. Asked if Jose calls you and ask you to play with him at Manchester what do you say? Pogba - I don't know, I don't know, at the moment juventus is my home. Then the commentator says pay juventus and I'll come... Pogba replies we'll see... I don't know where I want to go.

It's not he said but after that he said that United was his first family and that if Mourinho asked him to comeback he won't know what to say, "maybe".
Yeah at the time, the quote didn't match the shortened video.

It starts off with a dedication to Chinn the chef and a confidence of Pogba travelling down the M16. Then it becomes cold and lonely when a Pogba quote comes out that he wants to stay at Juve. Now with his "we'll see" comment about United, we seem to be at 'content'

Hope this helps

Yeah, minor positive though. He is either looking to move or looking for a new contract.

Yeah I think we've talked to Pogba for a good while and LVG cocked it all up by finishing 5th. So we might need to really push but hopefully we get him.

Back then SAF was busy cuddling his golden oldies/sick player and sticking to his average talent when Juventus came knocking at his door offering him a decent shot to first team. Why should Pogba turn them down? That's something that Pre LVG Manchester United couldn't understand. Manchester United is just 1 of many big clubs. Its not the centre of the world as the likes of SAF, Paddy and co think. There are clubs out there who are as big as us (not as rich but as big) and who have a reputation of developing unknowns, same as we do (if not more). Juventus is one of those clubs. They are frigging ruthless and had shown the door to so many legends to give space to unknown players. They have bigger balls then SAF especially after he got old.

I am a 3rd generation Manchester United supporter but if I was in Pogba's shoes I would have done exactly the same thing

And I am sure that his agent being offered a high percentage of any future sell on fee had nothing to do with it.

After seeing that Spanish interview, I'm more confident of him coming here.

It's dragged on so long now, I'm kind of apathetic to the whole thing now.

Ah, thanks I see. At the end a bit of a hoax? I just saw the sportwitness tweets, which are pretty vague and generally it's either rehashing something or plain bollocks.

I don't expect something to become conclusive at least until the next couple of weeks.

Why not read it? there's far to much to simply explain.
Started with the first three, but nothing major in it.

A graph mapping the emotions of this thread (myself included at times) when new news comes out would be great viewing..there would have been a steep drop around "Juve is my home, my family, there they very happy and I want to stay."

His agent would surely take a cut but he also offered his protection. No one, not even Juventus would mess with Mino Raiola so if they promised Pogba a decent shot then they better give it to him. You don't want to be in that guy's bad books and Juventus know that well (ie the Ibra saga)

Ultimately it worked for everyone. Pogba is a 100m rated player, Juventus will make a big profit out of it and Raiola will get his cut. The only losers will be us. That's the price you get when you've got grandpa who wants to retire with all his boys around.

Jesus devilish, Fergie made mistakes but this last three years should have made you appreciate him more!

We won't ever see that kind of success again.

Has it really dragged on that long? It kind of feels like it only really picked up any real traction quite recently, and since then he's been either in the euros or on holiday.

I think whoever said his agent will have briefed him before the interview was right. He's keeping his options wide open to keep that negotiating leverage.

He's a Juve player, he should be talking about next season with them.

The quotes are actually very positive. It's clear some people don't have the true muppet spirit. They might need a holiday once this is done either way.

I'm sure @devilish and so does every other Man Utd fan that dares to criticize Fergie in public. Appreciation shouldn't make someone immune from genuine criticism even though the derogatory insults are out of order. Fergie dropped a £100m pound clanger there and it has to be pointed out more so that Mourinho, in particular, doesn't repeat it with TFM, Perreira etc.
