Now THAT is impressive.
And at such a young age.
Footballers get a bad reputation for being thick, but this guy clearly isn't.

He is speaking his mothers native language and is from France. He has lived in England and Italy. So you are basically impressed about a human being ability to talk.

It also helps that other countries than ours have an enlightened approach to learning foreign languages - i.e. lessons don't begin with "Bonjour, ya cheese-eating surrender monkeys" & "Who do you think you are kidding, Mrs Merkel?"

It depends what you mean by pushing for a move. If that means going on strike and handing in a transfer request, yeah he probably won't. If he tells Juve he'd quite like to move please, then would Juve turn down 100m because he hasn't said it loudly or forcefully enough?

There are very few clubs who would turn down 100m for a player who isn't even established as a top level player try and arguably isn't even their most important player.

Did Moratta at one point say he wouldn't entertain offers below 125m euros or was that a fake quote? We're pretty much meeting that figure.

I don' think there is such a thing as saying it softly. A polite preference to Juventus that he'd like to go to Manchester United is enough to turn the tide and pressure the club - such is the power of his agent combined with the media bandwagon.

Not sure what Moratta said, hopefully we haven't met that figure because there is no way in hell he's worth that. But if its accepted & he comes then fair enough.

Don't be sour, to be able to fluently speak 4 different languages at the age of 23 is very impressive. It's not just the "ability to talk". Takes some intelligence, that.

We're feeding off scraps right now we need more concrete info by respectable journalists to really get the hype train going.

I've known of many English people who live abroad and can't speak the native language (ie. they only speak 1 language).
Rooney can barely speak 1 language.
I can speak 3.
A footballer who can speak 4 languages is not the norm.
Yes, I am impressed.

me too:(

I would love to be fluent in 4 languages

It takes practice and exposure. If you wanted to speak 4 languages you would dedicate the time to do so -- but if you have no reason to learn them you will never have the reason to. You can learn a language maybe an hour a day for a couple of years but you'll never be colloquial unless you surround yourself with natural speakers and want to be corrected.

The wright brothers invented the aeroplane because they wanted man to fly. If they didn't have that dream they wouldn't have done it. but let's not get off topic!

Pogba talk guys!

In terms of Pogba though does anyone have the video with the United Shirt and him saying "my first family" I can only find the Juventus video.

Cheers!

I still think there's a good chance of Pogba to come to us, Anyone here not realise yet? Uniteds greatest Midfielder PAUL scholes, his successor could be PAUL pogba, United likes Pauls.

I like how Pogba has got more praise for his language skills than his "tom cleverly" style football skills in this thread

Ability to talk

Yeah as soon as you arrive in a country and speak, the language magically comes out.

Indeed, speaking 4 languages is very impressive.

I don't see what's so impressive about the fact he can speak a few languages.

If you spend 6 months in a country you should be able to hold a conversation in the native tongue quite easily, not to mention he probably was tutored too.

Italian, English, French, which is the fourth? Spanish?

Italian is probably the easiest language to learn to speak freely. Most of the guys I know that speak it have learned it in 4-5 months.

I'm not so sure that Pogba speaks fluently Spanish.

Like others have said, he doesn't need to. He could just live in his football bubble and get away with the bare minimum.

And he speaks Spanish yet has never lived there.

eh not really. Unless he learned them in his adulthood year. Sometimes you grow up in an area where speaking more than one language is common so you grow up knowing 3-4 languages (myslef)

I think his ability to speak 4 languages has increased the price by 25m. He will link all the Spanish, Italian, French and English teammates effortlessly. Let him do the team talk !

So no news? No juicy speculation?

A debate on linguistic skills (yes, for any person, speaking 4 languages is impressive, at least more impressive than speaking fewer than 4).

We still have one player who has lived in England for probably 10 years but don't speak English yet.

Yea I wasn't sure tbh. Stand corrected. Still not too shabby for a 23 yr old.

Oh definitely mate it's a great CV for a young lad, just a pity he didn't stay and he would have had a Pl medal and saved us a few quid lol

Lack of news usually means, it is negotiation time and Juve and United are trying to thrash out a deal. Not guaranteed to reach a conclusion by any means.

Was hoping Real Madrid would come to their senses and sign Pogba before Woody goes full muppet mode. Since that is not happening, I want this saga to end so we can go and sign a couple more players to complete the squad.

Mourinho won't let it rumble on. He is strict in his methods and needs his team to work with ASAP.

This isn't Moyes. If Pogba isn't looking likely Jose will swiftly move on to the next target.

We will try and hold onto him for as long as possible because to replace a player like Pogba without overpaying is almost impossible.

No midfielder has a ceiling talent wise as much as Pogba so it wouldn't make sense to get rid of him if he is happy to stay.

Same with Bonucci to City. €60 million is a lot of money but replacing world class players is not easy so it's just best to hang onto them.
It's a 100 million. Very easy to replace bruh!
