I would guess United's target is to have Pogba on board for the City match in China. That would be a marketer's dream, wouldn't it. The biggest player making his debut for the most popular club against their biggest rivals in front of the biggest potential audience in the world.

You're looking at it the wrong way. Why worry about some future transfer when we can get one of the world best players? What do you think would have happened if the likes of Madrid, Barca, Bayern, PSG and City thought that way? Whould they have got some of the best players? They paid over £60m for Suarez. This week they signed Digne for less than £15m. It didnt distort them in any way. It might distort the market only for the superstars but that was distorted any way.I'm in the 25% that voted no, I'm afraid. It's too much and is going to make all future transfers expensive, even for mediocre players... unless he's really good and then I will lie about my vote.
Pogba is still on holiday so I strongly doubt it. The most that will happen by today is that we agree a fee. It won't be announced for a fair few days imo.
I think 120m include Pogba's salaries and perks.
I dont think anything will be agreed today but we need to get it done ASAP in case Madrid raise the funds to come in last minute. Cant count on the fax machine not working again.Pogba is still on holiday so I strongly doubt it. The most that will happen by today is that we agree a fee. You quoted your own post there mate.ah I was thinking in £ not euros
It's irrelevant. If Pogba truly prefers to go to Real but Raiola pushes him towards us for his own financial benefit, he might end up being disgruntled as well.
To me, it's not Pogba forcing his way out of Juve but rather Raiola forcing him out of there.
We shelled out a rather large amount of money for Mkhitaryan given that he had only one year left on his deal. Raiola milked us nicely there as well.
The reason also lies in the fact that we gave the manager position to someone who has never finished above 4th and a foreign manager who had no experience in the premier league. Bad transfer strategy and even worse system of play has led us here today. There weren't many options remaining without Fergie's genius. It is to spend or become the next Liverpool.
Though, it remains to be seen if we can spend our way to stability. The 'value strategy' was far more productive than this 'Spend frivolously' approach since then. 320m spent in the last three years and all we have show for is 7th, 4th & 5th positions in the league, plus a FA cup.
The problem is that we are not getting one of the world's best players. We're not getting a Ronaldo, Bale, Suarez, L. Ronaldo, Kaka etc. at the time they were purchased, we're getting potentially one of the world's best players, and even that's far from certain. You're looking at it the wrong way. Like I said before, everyone rejects the first offer because they are lowballed. Its how an offer starts. If you are willing to pay 120m for him you dont start the bidding at 120m. Start lower and make your way up.Is the consensus that Juve have only rejected the first offer as a way of saving faces and making it seem like they've done everything in their power to keep Pogba?
It sure seems strange that journos report that we are going to make an offer which is going to be rejected - before the bid has even been placed. If that's not the case, how can we be sure that they will accept the next bid - and that United are even willing to pay the supposed asking price?
Slightly off topic but that's why international matches are rarely entertaining. At clubs you build a side transferring players to fit a system. International managers have to try get the best out of the best players they have. Griezmann is France's obvious best player and has so they make a system to get the most out him and if that means sacrificing others and playing Pogba in front of the back four then so be it. They don't play in the same position but it would compromise the balance. I don't think he played to bad there but it just wasn't exciting. If Pogba had played at hus best earlier in the tournament then maybe they would have played him his preferred position and push Griezmann into a different position. I think the problem when building a system around one player is that when the player doesn't play great then the side suffer like Griezmann in the final. We might have a simular issue with Rooney, but I'm confident Mourinho will find the solution otherwise he wouldn't want him so badly. What is his best position and most importantly can France create the role that he has with Juventus without Juventus's players? The answer is no, Pogba needs to adapt and at the moment he can't. Neymar, Ronaldo or Bale don't play in their best positions for their country but no one blame the manager because we all know that it's not really possible without damaging the teams.
He absolutely is one of the best players in the world. There is a reason Barca and Real want him. Unless you're arguing semantics he is obviously one of the best midfielders around, whether he is as good as a bunch of strikers you've listed is irrelevant. The problem is that we are not getting one of the world's best players. We're not getting a Ronaldo, Bale, Suarez, L. Ronaldo, Kaka etc. at the time they were purchased, we're getting potentially one of the world's best players, and even that's far from certain.
In your position, if you are a top 10 player then thats good enough for me to be considered one of the best in the world. I think he is a top 5 midfielder in the world right now but just to keep you happy Im saying he is in the top 10.The problem is that we are not getting one of the world's best players. We're not getting a Ronaldo, Bale, Suarez, L. Ronaldo, Kaka etc. at the time they were purchased, we're getting potentially one of the world's best players, and even that's far from certain.
A pic of Mou's drawing board, accidentally present in the frame of his daughter's pic of him is doing the rounds. People say Pogba can be seen in the lineup.
Someone please post it so that our experts from the world of Muppetry may scrutinise it.

King Woodward!
Who's next?

It's nothing about they "cant raise the money" Perez just doesn't like him. Whether it's for footballing reasons or not we won't know. Oh well good for us.I dont think anything will be agreed today but we need to get it done ASAP in case Madrid raise the funds to come in last minute. Cant count on the fax machine not working again.
Its alright but that 120m is in Euros which equates to £100m.no coffee yet![]()
It is about the money if journos are to be believed. They balked at the agent fees. We did that once and lost out on Hazard. Glad we learnt our lesson. It's nothing about they "cant raise the money" Perez just doesn't like him. Whether it's for footballing reasons or not we won't know. Oh well good for us.

I missed this post; this is a good point. It also makes Wegner look a little less silly, though not completely. So we've signed the best player in the French League and one of the best players in Italian(almost done) and German League this season. All this without the Champions League.
More or less confirms that it was Ferguson and Gill decision to look for value in market rather than being instructed by Glazers. Such a shame really![]()

It's probably not too far off the truth though. Not like I give a feck.feck off you arrogant cnuts. "Letting" us piss off.
Its like they have written that article just to rile up United fans. You hardly expect Marca to write the truth, right?
How would their readers react if they wrote it like it actually is:
"Marca say Man United signs Pogba since Real Madrid can't match their financial might, sadly the city and government wouldn't funnel more money into RM at this point"
Yeah you're right, I seem to remember the Ronaldo transfer being agreed between the two clubs whilst he was on holiday in LA (why do footballers in particular like going there on holiday?).Pogba is still on holiday so I strongly doubt it. The most that will happen by today is that we agree a fee. It won't be announced for a fair few days imo.
Tbh in the end it's performances and results which count and despite mega signings in the last 3 years I would take our league positions in the following years of that summer ahead of the disaster and mega signings of the last 3 years anytime.Anyway, people who aren't happy with us spending obscene amount of money, perhaps you'd like to go back to the summer where we signed - Obertan, Owen on a free and Valencia. I think there was another player, but by feck - I don't even want to remember who that was.
