Yet he did.Maybe read my post, I said he wouldn't make a world XI, never mentioned the FIFA XI, you brought that into it.

Yeah Sky mentioned that earlier as well. Its pretty clear they wont budge for anything less than £100m.Reports from goal.com that our 86 million pounds was rejected and those fecker are holding out for 100 million pounds with 8m addons.
We don't need to save cash that's the thing. Even after Pogba - if mourinho decides to try and sign Mahrez and another midfielder then we'll do exactlyI think 100+ mil just isn't worth it for Pogba. He's not that good in the sense that he'll win you matches week in week out so I'd say it's better to splash that cash on an extra defensive signing and Mahrez and maybe a third signing too.

Hopefully not, the muppets won't survive. The saga only started today IMO
I think this one will go for another month
That's were you've got it all wrong. Do you remember how significant fellaini was in the team when playing as number 10? He would have so much space but can't do anything because of his no skill on the ball. Pogba is a more technical, faster and better fellaini. He is like fellaini after a billion years of evolution. I'm certain we have bought the league if we sign him.I think 100+ mil just isn't worth it for Pogba. Exactly. Everyone peddling this line are deluded if they don't think the players in the team they support wouldn't choose Real, or Barca.![]()
Its a big fish eating small fish situation. That law apply irrespective if a piranha eats a guppy or a great white shark eats a tuna. Manchester United never had the wow factor Real Madrid had. Manchester is a decent city but its not Madrid + while they were busy becoming a football legendary club we were busy becoming the top dog in the football financial world.
What many seem to forget is that Real boosted their wow factor by doing what United are doing right now ie spending ridiculous money on the top dogs. They unsettled Beckham, they unsettled Mcmanaman, they unsettled Zidane, they unsettled Ronaldo and they unsettled Figo. If anyone thinks that Beckham and Mcmanaman moved to Madrid purely because they suddenly became Real Madrid fans then they are deluded at best. £££ talked
Let's not be pedantic here. I was clearly pointing out that the FIFA World XI is hardly a representation of an actual World XI. Unless you believe Suarez shouldn't be in a world XI or Neuer should be in over DDG?Yet he did.
Suarez is probably the best striker in the world but Messi is better. When you're trying to shoe horn in the 11 best players in each position, certain players who are still world class tend to miss out. Its simple as that. And yes Neuer is better than De Gea. Our keeper is a close second and that is nothing to be ashamed of.Let's not be pedantic here. I was clearly pointing out that the FIFA World XI is hardly a representation of an actual World XI. Watching the sport yourself? So what else are we supposed to go by?
I hear Blackpool is a hotspotEveryone goes to holiday in spain. Who wants to spend their holiday in England? Not even people from England. Pogba wouldn't care because he has lived here. Unless your from south america it was never your dream to play for madrid. Don't be fooled people.
But we need a midfielder, probably two, and Pogba is the best that is available for that position.I think 100+ mil just isn't worth it for Pogba. He's not that good in the sense that he'll win you matches week in week out so I'd say it's better to splash that cash on an extra defensive signing and Mahrez and maybe a third signing too.
The point is, being in the so-called world XI isn't the sole definition of "world class". Neuer & De Gea are, to all intents, both world class. There's only one spot for a keeper in a team though, it really doesn't relegate either of them to not world class.Wait... what?
You said "Pogba made it World XI", now you're saying that your point was that just cause Ibra didn't make it doesn't mean he's not world class? The feck you on about? That's incredibly contradictory.
Maybe read my post, I said he wouldn't make a world XI, never mentioned the FIFA XI, you brought that into it.
So subjective opinion then?Watching the sport yourself?
Exactly. 3 years from now Rainy manchester will be the mecca of football. Everything would probably go through United and city.Feels great knowing we've used our financial muscle to outdo Madrid and Juve.
In the future, when teams are in talks with a club to sign a player, teams will be hoping we don't enter the picture.
We could be absolute bastards in the transfer market and make sides pay well over the odds for players just by showing some interest.
Because they play different positions. Neymar is a forward winger while Suarez is a proper central striker. Neymar is better in his position than Suarez is hence he got in. Look this is going off topic so I ll say one last thing on this - just because Pogba doesnt make your World XI doesnt mean he isnt world class. I would say if you can make the top 5-10 in your position then you are world class in my opinion. Is he feck.
Suarez is better than Neymar and Neymar got in.
Even if we don't show interest, clubs (those selling) and agents will use our name for that. In fact they are already doing it. We should charge these clubs and agents a fee to 'use' our name in their transfer dealingsWe could be absolute bastards in the transfer market and make sides pay well over the odds for players just by showing some interest.
Why? Because he didn't perform in the euros? Get over it. Nobody was saying this shite before the euros. You guys are all quick to change your minds when it wasn't even his fault but the managers use of tactics. I highly doubt kross would have performed as well as a defender. The point is, being in the so-called world XI isn't the sole definition of "world class". As for Pogba, I would agree that he's not yet in the tier of Modric, Kroos et al, but he's definitely on his way there, and I think it's very unlikely that he doesn't reach that level in the next few years. Whether that's a risk worth taking, the club and Mourinho seem to be confident of.

If only there were some way to solve that, like ... um... change the formation?Because they play different positions. Neymar is a forward winger while Suarez is a proper central striker. Neymar is better in his position than Suarez is hence he got in. Look this is going off topic so I ll say one last thing on this - just because Pogba doesnt make your World XI doesnt mean he isnt world class. I don't think it's the sole definition either. As I said before, 'world class' is a very broad term. Some will say it means they have to be in a World XI (which I guess I did originally say), others will say it means they're top 5, 10 etc. I think the term 'great' player is a better phrase, and I don't believe Pogba is as of yet, a great player, like most previous record breaking signings were. The point is, being in the so-called world XI isn't the sole definition of "world class". Neuer & De Gea are, to all intents, both world class. There's only one spot for a keeper in a team though, it really doesn't relegate either of them to not world class.

Fair enough - I had no idea he made the FIFA Pro XI to be fair, shows how little attention I pay to that stuff, so I probably wouldn't have used that term if I had known! As I said above, 'great' is probably a better word than world class, as you said, world class is very vague and broad depending on the person. I don't think Pogba is a great player, yet.I'm not being pedantic, you said he wouldn't make a world XI, I'm pointing out that he did make one. Whether you agree with who made it or not. If anything it's you being pedantic.
What you maybe meant to say is that he wouldn't make your own personal world XI, which is obviously so ludicrously subjective that it's no reasonable measure of how good a player is.
The "world class" label is too loosely defined to really mean anything, but I think most people would accept that he's among the top handful of players in his position in the world and that's definitely good enough.
The only reason for this is because spain is a nice place to live in. Don't be deluded and think people would choose madrid over United because of history. If England was a beautiful place to live in we would win everytime because we can offer more money.
Too many brainwashed people don't realize the beautiful weather in spain gives them that huge advantage. Wives and all.
I don't want to sidetrack this thread. I promised not to do so and I keep my promises. Therefore I will keep my answer to one short post with no reply whatsoever. City, history and prestige matters but that's trivial compared to £££. Milan is not a great city to live in but when Berlusconi bankrolled the dosh no one (Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona etc) could compete with him on the transfer market. I grew up dreading reading the gazzetta dello sport because I knew that if AC Milan become interested on our players then we're in trouble. Once the £££ dried up, the players weren't interested in them anymore and now they have Montolivo instead of Gullit and Kaka.
As said I wont be mentioning the old administration. They had their share of faults and their share of reasons why they worked that way (we wouldn't be the financial monsters we are now without them). However let me say one thing. Its about feckin time someone stood up to Real's bullying tactics and their mentality of thinking that they can just barge in and cherrypick the players they want because they are Real. If we end up getting Pogba because we outmuscled Real then I will be a happy bunny.
If there's one thing I've learnt from youtube is that compilation videos are the absolute best way to judge how good a player is.How people are not excited, after seeing that last compilation video, is beyond me.
I'm not basing my like of Pogba from youtube, I actually remember the days he was here and watched him for the past two years at Juve.
So we've signed the best player in the French League and one of the best players in Italian(almost done) and German League this season. All this without the Champions League.
More or less confirms that it was Ferguson and Gill decision to look for value in market rather than being instructed by Glazers. Such a shame really![]()
You think it won't happen or that the odd is to low?
