Wow, Juve are amazing, the world record is smashed and they are STILL negotiating nitty gritty. That is next level hardcore dealing!

You're probably right, but that doesn't mean Madrid fans are now all butthurt because we didn't sign him (as a lot od people here seem to think). Some of us are for sure, some of us are not. I myself am worried because we need a DM and if we don't sign one, we'll suffer.
Again, I agree with you. Depth at DM is certainly a need for Madrid. I'm sure you will add some quality in that position before the window closes.

British Isles...very different, however point is, United usually had the best Irish players (Keane, O'Shea, Irwin), best Scottish player (Fletcher), Welsh (Giggs), English (take your pick). But the countries aren't producing these players anymore. Plus, the scouting restrictions from a geographic standpoint doesn't help anymore.

That wasn't what you said though.:smirk:

Even then though, I think our acquiring of the best players from each home nation (and slightly beyond) was generally more down to chance than being an actual deliberate move. I'm fine for players like Pogba to form the core of our team - if you want Brits to do it, then Britain needs to start producing better footballers than they are currently.

Juve are flat-track bullies that steal your lunchbox then sell it back to you for a premium price.

We have Rashford, Smalling, Shaw, Lingard, Carrick, Rooney, Young, Johnstone, Wilson, Williams and Tuanzabe.

How many do you want?

If he joins Madrid I'll take full responsibility as I watched one of his youtube compilations before he'd signed.

Love that Real Madrid try to come in at the last minute to get him. You can bet Perez's ego can't handle the fact United will hold the world record transfer. Perez probably wants to buy Pogba for no reason other than to satisfy his own ego and get one over on United. Tosser.

Perez and Raiola don't see eye to eye, not going to happen. Raiola going for the hat trick with us.

Why can Spurs have many more than United, though? We are bigger team, traditionally British oriented, and can offer much better wages.

Spurs are in London and as of a couple of years, they have more than United currently in the first-team.

Isn't Pogba an adidas athlete as well? yes, as of March 2016 Pogba is pretty much the face of adidas...and who is the largest jersey partner for adidas at club level...well well

I was fully expecting a last-gasp bid from Madrid. They've obviously spent the last week checking down the backs of their sofas, and scraped together enough to put in a bid. It can be the only reason why they didn't act earlier (seriously, why leave it so late other than to say "we tried, honest"?).

How does buying someones sponsor rights work out? Adidas should fecking pay up for that one.

Will probably be worth it though, Woodie will have his mug on every packet of noodles sold from South Africa to the North Pole.

We then own his image and can use it however we want. We subsidise the player a little for this though, I think we do the same with Rooney hence his high salary.

The rights are supposed to be worth 10m euros now, so if his marketability improves in 3/4 years time they could be worth double that. And whoever wants to sign him from us, they would realistically have to pay us that amount.

United still need to make the English quota, but of those you've listed, only 2 are legit English class or at least they were in Carrick and Rooney. Rashford, Smalling, Shaw, etc. have miles and miles to go.

Can Real even match the figures we're willing to offer?
I mean they'd obviously have to sell to buy, so other than try to hijack the deal with an installment offer, i don't see Juve accepting that if they can get a huge lump of cash off us all in one.
Plus, Pogba would face serious competition at Real, when he could literally walk into our side and play week in and week out

That DiMarzio tweet is worded for hits so badly 4 tweets earlier he confirmed Pogba made a promise to Man Utd then conveniently leaves that out on the link pointing towards his website

Makes it slightly more sweater knowing he rejected Madrid. Wonder what Balague will have to say about it

If they offer Moratta plus cash they will get Pogba I fear

In the space of minutes this has gone from looking very likely to nervy and unsure.

Similar to Hazard, Sneijder, Robben and Ronaldinho I'd imagine. Nothing we haven't seen before.
Were reports linking us to Hazard and Sneijder as strong? The Sneijder one anyway seemed more like it was fans will to push it through rather than anything concrete. Don't recall the other two though, too young.
