Maybe I'm just being a pessimist, but why on earth would both Marotta and Raiola publicly deny respectively that there has been no contact and that there is no deal, if there in fact is a deal that is just missing the last details(which everybody in here seems absolutely certain of). It would make absolutely no sense for them to make these statements if we're just going to finalise and announce the deal in a couple of days regardless. Maybe we really are not really close to a deal. Maybe Real Madrid are actively trying to hijack the deal?

If Pogba was ever going to return, it would be to United and not City. You can sit there and say what you like, but even under mismanagement by LVG, you only qualified for the champions league ahead of us, on goal difference. That was a free pass. I don't think it will be repeated.

You are just being pessimistic. Look in the history of transfers, and you'll see quotes like those of Marotta and Raiola happen pretty much every time. Hardly ever do clubs come out saying they're in talks with another club.
I didn't think I'd ever leave this thread because people are being so negative but it's getting close to that.
Since when did mourinho have an excellent relationship with raiola? In fact, I don't actually think he has signed many of raiola s clients till now (I don't know the list but I doubt it's more than 2 or 3 in 15 years). He was more of a Mendes guy understandable considering he was represented by Mendes.

1) Pogba has had an inclination towards joining United ever since Mou was hired and United contacted Pogba(via Mino).
2) The ITKs(not all), but some like Acquire Me and KingJohnno are being honest, as they have heard that plenty is being done to complete this transfer.
3) We have agreed terms with the Pog.
4) Real obviously are a factor. Pog could be distracted by them, if and when they come in with a Real offer. This does not seem likely to happen. But you never know.
5) Juve and United are talking. Juve are ok with selling but for a lot of money.
6) All these points are making the Journalists think that all is and/or will be done. Clubs will announce as soon as things are completely done, but it is the job of the journalists to report things before the clubs do, so they are using all the positivity from the points above to safely conclude that the deal is done.
7) Agreement in the United-Mino-Juve triangle has not been reached. Three big parties with big egos. Anything can happen. There is a lot of posturing also happening to gain leverage in the negotiations. In terms of negotiation and discussion this part is the most complicated and unpredictable one. Hence, we can safely say that the deal is far from done. Let's stop gloating. Let's be hopeful and keep our fingers crossed.
