Since it's official, I thought I'd create a new thread.

His first game will be against Guardiola's City.
His first home game will be the North East Derby.
His games against Everton will be September 12th (home) and February 25th (away)
His games against United will be December 26th (away) and April 8th (home)

Welcome back to the Prem, Moyesy

Very good signing, far better manager than any Sunderland manager in the recent past except maybe big Sam.

Am happy for him.

He isn't a bad manager at all, he just wasn't right for United, and it was just too big a challenge for him.

Really hope he does well

Good choice for Sunderland and for Moyes.

To think this guy was once the manager of Manchester fecking United.

Finally found his level.

The levels of smugness from both him and the press if he beats us will be insufferable.

Would take that fund off him now for Wayne and Maroaune.

Found his level. He can make them hard to beat and get to the byline all he wants now.

If he's able to turn Sunderland into a club that no longer fears relegation come March/April each year, it'll be a job well done.

Anyone know how the Sunderland fans feel about his appointment?

They seemed pretty optimistic on Sky, and why shouldn't they be?

If last jobs were to go on, then surely we wouldn't have Mourinho.

Moyes was fantastic at Everton, where he took them out the bottom half of the table to a steady fifth or sixth place, on a limited budget.

Now he can make Sunderland "hard to beat".

Good luck Dave - you have found your level.

Whenever I see the name David Moyes I want to throw up. A complete nightmare. Poor Sunderland supporters. Relegation or a sacked before Christmas. Take a pick...

Great appointment for Sunderland. Though if they take points off us this season...
