Well, Pogba has gone strength to strength since joining Juve. This is fact, not opinion.
Apart from money, if Pogba really values his career achievements over everything else then Juve is where he should stay for another year. Next season he can re-assess.
At present Juve (on pitch) are a better club than us. Based on a few months ago, we are dire. Our attackerrs are an embarrassement who struggle to score 2 goals per game. We do however, now have a top class manager. But Juve would argue that they too, have a top class manager.
In contrast, Juve just won their league. They now have the best striker in Italy joining them. and last season they made the 2nd round of the CL (not great, but better than us).
If Pogba stays, they'd probably consider themselves favourites to win the treble. That's how good Juve are.

The position which Juve are in right now...MUFC aspire to one day, be in that position. We are talking about breaking transfer fee records to be in Juve's position.

And lets talk about league finishes.
Our last 3 league finishes: 7, 4, 5.
Juve's last 3 league finishes: 1, 1, 1

I'm not 100% sure that you know how good/bad we actually are on the pitch.

For selfish reasons, like you, I hope Pogba joins us, but for his own career, he should stay put and wait to see what happens next season.
What I wrote completely flew over you. I'm not talking about pitch performances and such, I'm talking about marketability with each club.

Even now despite having gone 3 horrible seasons compared to Juventus who've reached some highs, we're still a far more marketable option than Juve and the EPL also allows for far more exposure than Serie A.

Everyone already know that Juventus have currently a better squad then us but even that is bound to change rather sooner than later given the resources we have compared to them. While us despite missing CL football this we're still able to attract and bring in payers while Juve keep losing their key players year after year(Vidal last year).

A year or 2 from now, we're likely to end up with a stronger team then Juve, and better equipped to fight for the CL. These are the fact(well with some projections which might or might not get to be but the likelihood of us getting back up are higher). We get Pogba this year we reinforce, with CL likely next year we'll be in an ever better position to bring in more quality with our resources, meanwhile Juve can't easily pull such things off and are rather likely to lose another key player.

How can they be, when we've agreed with all parties and subsequently he's only a signature away from joining us? It's a done deal.

Can't folk just move on to another thread? Fabinho?

Lol even mods are in it. Close the thread then if it's done !

The Fabinho thread needs some traffic. Why not just take the feckwittery into there?
I have full confidence that as soon as we wrap this deal up that the Fabinho thread will be in full swing along with the Manolas one.

is it likely that this medical was done in Madrid to try and hide the signing? So when pogba leaves for MUFC, juve could quickly counter the rage with a "surprise" signing? I mean there was no way a medical like this in turin would stay silent.. Just so happens, unfortunately, to be ruined by release of medical records.

I agree for most of it. Madrid will get a transfer ban so the wait will be 2 years though. Also, Pogba may have some personal statement to make towards United but from a career perspective, indeed, Juventus is still a more valid option.

Wow and even with that record Napoli have been nowhere near the league?

Strange thing is that Juve don't need him to walk the lead why risk such a high fee.

They were second last season and were competing for championship at one point.

What do you think is going to happen even if we sign him tomorrow? That he is going to fly to China and start training with us immediately? He isnt due back till the 1st week of August. We have plenty of time to get it done.

Just annoying when these things drag on longer than they should. The same thing day in, day out. I have bad experiences with long transfer sagas, as they normally end badly. I'd prefer to know certainties and if he won't be signing then I'd rather we focus our time and effort on other players. Everyday we are told how close the deal is yet every other day there's a, new hiccup or stumbling block.

I need a break from checking this thread every hour or so. I'm going outside to play Pogeman Go. Nothing will happen until at least next week other than a load of desperate stab in the dark tweets to tie the BS journos over until Monday.

On a serious note, I never believed Pogba doesn't want to come here and is only doing it for money and ego. It's shocking how some people easily believe narratives from pissed off Juve fans attacking his character instead of the player himself who has professed his love to Manchester in the past, and recently called United his first family.

Thread took a turn away form muppettry to a very bad place the last few pages. I can't wait for him to sign so we can move on to discussing football, and mostly so I can get my life back!

Thats probably the dumbest post I have seen all day from you. Then every player, like every single one of them, we sign is a mercenary because they all come from lower clubs and lower leagues to United. You shouldnt be happy about us signing anyone.

Some girls are more mercenary than others. And some girls mothers...

Would be funny if we pull out of the deal and they were relying on the Pogba funds! Ok maybe funny for a second.....

Hoping this is wrapped up by today. Sick of this saga.

I wonder if there's a point where United pulls out of the deal. If not, Juve should just keep cranking up the price & make United pay for all the extras, which is what seems to be happening.

I think the backlash of United pulling out at this stage keeps them in it, no matter if Juve's demands keep changing.

Not sure if he is a 'mercenary cnut' but if you have apprehensions over loyalty, its fair enough. I don't think business quite works like that and I don't need everyone to be a fan as long as there is no lack of effort. Also, if you are looking at players who only wants to play for United, then most likely are going to miss out on a lot of players. I see you wanted Kante (albeit different kind of players), but do you know if Kante truly wanted to play for us? or did he get the benefit of the doubt magically?

Kante clearly didn't want to play for us. He went to Chelsea. He's dead to me now. Unless we sign him in the future! Listen if Pogba resigns I'll support him but he better put a shift in every game.

The Juventuz lot seem to want him to go Real and don't think he'll come here. Then again, they also think they're 2nd in the world behind Barca, 'Real and Bayern are arguably level'.

Must be a little soul destroying for them they have a team currently well above ours a huge chance of winning the best competition in European football, but the Serie A is pretty irrelevant these days there is no excitement for the italian league which is their downfall.

The global appeal of English football, the media and the hype is so much more appealing even if were currently miles behind them as a team, everyone outside Italy can see this embarrassingly they still think he will stay.

At the end of the day, you have a bias...so people are not having a discussion but rather looking at other ways to say the same thing to convince others that they are wrong. It's a waste of time. Likewise, knowing you don't like him - don't want him and would rather matuidi - why would anyone think for a second you could change your mind or think any different? There are pro's and cons to any deal. But no one can convince you, you are wrong. So isn't it best to let events transpire to show you are right?...

This is the most publicly un-public transfer ever, surely.

Was hoping we'd unveil him as part of the kit launch (optimistic).

I don't blame them. This EL Classico thing has everybody brainwashed.
It's ok for those 2 sides to sign your top players for ridiculous fees because they are the cream of the crop. Everybody suffers against them so it doesn't hurt the clubs image to lose out to those two.
People tell themselves that losing their star player wouldn't be a disaster. They will use that money to sign quality and bridge that gap to the elite two. That is always the theory.
If they lose a player to United, a team a level below them at present...there's nothing they can tell themselves to make that better.
The sooner United make a dent in this El Classico bullshit the better.

I don't think Juventus's demands are changing, it has been the same sticking point all the time: they don't want to pay Raiola his bonus.

:nono: re-signs, not resigns... :D

I'll change my mind if he signs and turns out brilliant for us. I'll happily change my mind but yes at the minute I don't like him as a player or as a 'professional'. You are right there is no real reason for people to argue with me on this. I'm just posting my thoughts and concerns about this transfer. This game is all about opinions after all.

Exactly. Let's see if we sign him first. People are going round and round in circles. If we got 4 years out of Pogba - and sold him - it wouldn't be the end of the world. It would probably be for a record fee and then it comes down to how we handle/deal with it - to ensure we bring quality in. It's up to us not to repeat the Ronaldo sale nonsense. However, we would all rather he stay a long time and become the best player he can be.
