This is maybe not directly relevant in terms of the transfer, but... In the beginning of this saga I believe Pogba had around 4,5-4,8 million followers on Instagram. As of now he's got over 6 million. Do you think there is any chance that he's actually interested in dragging things out just to be the centre of attention for just that bit longer? Obviously, once this deal is finally complete, things are going to calm down and go back to normal. Maybe I'm just reading too much into things, but he doesn't seem to be in a hurry.
This is what happens with every major transfer. The pendulum of transfer probability swings wildly from one club to the other to generate as much interest as possible.

Yeah that's true but they apparently pulled out of the deal because James wanted to stay. There's obviously something to that because if they could buy without selling, then any deal they wanted would be done now.
It's stated that Real had someone bid €71m or so for James but he didn't want to leave so that scuppered the Gomes deal. So unless they can convince James to go and quick, they ain't got much of a chance of getting Pogba

Great player. I think Bale and Matuidi would be fine for us personally. Though I want Pogba back. I know Modric/Kross are great players but I think we're still short outwide and Bale would make a big difference in the final third for us.

This - people need to remember that, it's always more interesting in their mind when someone get's beat. It would be the biggest transfer so naturally they'll make the most out of it. United beating Madrid to his transfer would interest a lot of people - more then if everyone accepted Madrid weren't in for him.
That's quite possible but I truly think that if they were serious about Pogba and they knew of our interest, they'd have had him a long time ago. They either can't or don't want to pay the fee that Juve want and we can and will.

He's a bit old. Quality player but not sure how much longevity we'd get out of that deal. If we were to take a Madrid cm I'd take Kroos. Still only 26. Very happy with the imminent signing of Pogba though. To those worrying about a late Real intervention, I really don't think there's any chance of that. It's not even possible for them to afford any Pogba deal without selling someone big which they obviously hoped would be James Rodriguez but looks like he's pretty much given them the finger and said I'm happy to collect my paycheck. Honestly think the delay is solely due to Pogba still being on holiday. As soon as it's finished, things will move very quickly imo.
