Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

That was a bloody travesty, to this day I can't understand it. With that being said, you can't argue that the best player in the world didn't win it in the past decade. Ronaldo won it in 2008 after our Double season. Kaka won it a year prior. Since 2008 until now it was either Messi or Ronaldo.

Between Ronaldo and Messi it's usually who wins the CL though not who is the best player these days, its a "who wins CL or most trophies" award.

Would the Madrid fan base in here go elsewhere please.

This thread is for true muppets only! I can see something either tonight or tomorrow night. Believe guys, he's ours!

True, but to be fair Ronaldo and Messi are head and shoulders above any other player. It doesn't really matter to me which one of them wins it, it is more the fact that they split them between them with no one else coming close. They might as well introduce a new award for the best player in the world bar Messi and Ronaldo. That would be much more interesting.

To be honest I don't really care whether we get him or not. He's obviously a fantastic player, but the huge sum to get him to come back to a club he left for free is a bit of a sore point.
Also I don't really think he wants to come to United for anything other than money, which is quite alarming.

The again if we sign him I will be chuffed to bits, I just won't be crying myself to sleep if it goes tits up like I've still got a feeling it might.

I kinda feel the same way.

Kaka was a travesty. That's when they had the points deduction in the league so only focused on the CL.
It was a joke. He did nothing in 80% of matches that year.

So no Di Marzio update tonight then?

Soon doesn't equate to tonight...If there is no update, he has no news meaning negotiations are still underway ...or so they say. Patience.

I tweeted him a link to this thread. Hopefully it'll encourage him to get his finger out. That being said I'm sure with this place's esteemed reputation he'll be well aware of us already.

I'm actually quite astonished how one little tweet by one person has caused so much doubt.

AS have said they're after him, but will struggle getting him due to Morata and James staying, Marca, who are their mouthpiece, have said nothing on the matter as much as i'm aware, aside from capturing a little convo which can be interpreted in many ways. I've not checked for a while tho so they might have said something.

Then you got the big man Tancredi. He's launching a full blown scare campaign to get attention haha

The delay is because of Juventus playing hardball. All the evidence:

- Mourinho press conference stating "we have other options"
- Juventus trying to force us to pay huge bonus when Pogba renews his contract
- Juventus refusing to pay the agent's cut
- Raiola flying to Miami

Personally, I would have walk away from the deal because Juventus clearly have no intention to sell. We have already put our best effort offering Juventus 100 million, if Juventus can't accept that there is no reason to continue negotiating.

Ed Woodward & Raiola should have asked Pogba to put in a transfer request if he really wanted to come. The fact that Pogba can't choose between Juventus and Us is alarming.

Van Persie was desperate to come here. Mkhitaryan cried & threw chairs at Dortmund to let him go. Zlatan knew he was coming here.

Basically, the lack of commitment from Pogba to force this transfer is worrying me. I would have walk away from this deal from the very beginning.

I think you're wrong.

First. You have no idea about Pogba's commitment. It's his agent who's responsible to inform involved parties about his future intentions. None of the player or his agent have any obligation to go public about this. I would call it unwise to talk about other clubs before the deal is done, unless the agent is sure the deal will go thru.

Secondly. In a negotiation you have to give and take. Only amateurs gives ultimatums or walk away because they don't like what they hear. We have to give Marotta and Juventus cred because they clearly knows the drill. In the end I think they know that Uniteds will to buy is stronger then Juves willingness to sell, they off course use this knowledge.

Third. You make to many assumptions about things we don't know. I don't know more then you but for me silence from all parties is a good thing. Raiola going to Miami is also a sign that the negotiations went well.

From my perspective this deal is done. Only legal paperwork is left to do. That's one of the reasons Juve is trying to buy Higuain.

Try to relax. Feel secure and have faith in Woodward and the club, they are no mugs. If we fail then so be it, with £100m in our pocket we are stil the King on the dance floor.

It has been obvious for weeks that Pogba is coming back to United and that Real Madrid can't afford the fee.

With the Higuain transfer this is pretty much a done deal

This ..... Besides, how would they fit in Pogba if they are going to play both Kroos and Luca... With James staying as mostly a backup to the attacking force, I have serious doubts where they would put him

How come Tancredi isn't banned any more? What's changed with him?

The guy is a totally clueless cnut with no sources. Just copies what Di Marzio says or makes stuff up.

People scared of Madrid again?

He has no place in their first XI unless Kroos is sold. He's not going to Madrid. Everything is against the transfer logically.
If for some reason he joins them, you can be sure he'll start. Whether that means their Brazilian DM (whose name escapes me) will be on the bench is another matter.

Di Marzio never said there will be an update

Infact, he even specified that he won't tweet until there is one.

I don't get how you even expect an update on a Saturday night at 10pm. Do you really believe Woodward is in some kind of secret meeting right now?

I believe Zidane is settled on a 433 with includes a holding midfielder(Casemiro currently playing that role).

He seems to prefer balance in his side.

I've been positive for the most part this whole saga, but the longer it goes on the less likely I think it's happening. We have Jose saying we won't be held ransom, that we have other options, we have reports that Zidane likes Pogba and is calling him to join yet Perez doesn't like him, which makes no sense at all, why would Zidane call him to persaude him if he didn't have a chance of signing him.

Also, Raiola was a lot more aggressive when talking about Mkhitryan being linked to us, for example.

Honestly think Madrid will come in last second or he'll stay at Juve, not cause I'm scared of Madrid because according to reports we are dithering on a few million pounds.

Lastly for people saying where he will play at Madrid, they could sell Kroos and use Pogba in the 433. Kroos would then join City and Pep in a heartbeat leaving us with Matuidi imo.

And what did he say about Zlatan ;) ....relax.

And Raiola was equally non-aggressive when Ibra was linked to us.

He's constantly wumming in the media. Wouldn't pay attention to what he says.

Well it's most likely the truth. Dropped James and Isco from their first XI to slot in Casemiro to ease the defensive burden on Modric/Kroos.

People thought because Zidane was an attacking player that he'd opt for a team of flair and not many defensive players, but it's been the opposite.

Just go back and re-watch the CL final vs Atletico where Real were playing a defensive game and opted to let Atletico have ball possession.

And what did he say about Zlatan ;) ....relax.

Exactly my point though. It was known Ibra had a few options when deciding where to go but well documented Mkhitiryan didn't really have any other offers apart from us. His Zlatan approach to Pogba makes me think this isn't as clear cut as it seems.

The issue with micky was not with other clubs but with juve who were playing hardball with a player on his last year

The longer Woody dithers over this, the more time Madrid have to scrape together the funds they need to get Pogba his preferred move.
