As soon as this is announced, I am buying the new shirt with Pog on the back.

I'll even pay the premium and get it from the club store.

They deserve the money for this one!

Yeah, 100% getting his name on the back.

Couldn't care less what the cost is going to be, wtf do I work 10 hours a day 5 days a week for. To spend money on a Pogba shirt, that's what for

How does a club like Madrid even get priced out? Unless they just decided that they didn't want him at that price, but that seems unlikely given all the noises from Zidane and Madrid previously. They've never balked at big fees before either.

I thought they were higher on the football rich list than us, and seeing as they have a ban coming up you'd think they'd be keen to spunk the next couple of years budget this summer.

They don't feel he's worth the money.

He's not Ronaldo or Bale with a high goal output, nor is he Lionel Messi or Neymar.

He's a world class midfielder, they just wouldn't pay that money for a CM (Not since the Zidane era).

Going to America on Thursday and it will be a 12 hour flight until I get internet so if Pogba is announced on that day I will be missing all the fun :(

Dude, this is a transfer muppet thread.

We have reports from hair dressers. From chefs.
We have fake/unlikely/probable/possible/'I Think' theories.
We have fake/true ITK's and other members calling those ITK's liars.
We have some posters taking this thread seriously and showing some emotion in their posts.
We are creating one of the biggest thread in the history of the Caf, on schedule to become the biggest thread of all time, in record time.
The transfer fee is on course to break the World Record.

Jose promised BOX OFFICE and that is exactly what we are getting/needed after the last 3 years!!!

I'm loving this and I can't wait for the season to start.
 alright, alright, looks like I'm in the wrong thread

First world problems. I'm watching the reboot of Robot Wars tomorrow, that's as good as my life gets.

The idea of Pogba actually being with us hasn't really hit yet. It won't hit until we actually sign him. It would be so surreal. The biggest transfer in our history I'd say, and that's without mentioning the world record transfer fee.

We've longed for a superstar in our midfield for yonks. To go from Herrera/Schneiderlin, who aren't bad at all, to Pogba - it just feels like we're going from Young to Neymar. The upgrade is colossal.

AS say it will be announced next Wednesday or Thursday so still some self loathing to be done on here yet.

Our modern day Stevie G

Self loathing in what context?
Worrying that Madrid will swoop in to give us a spanking and telling off as they sweep Pogba away or saying how they can't see the deal going through based on nothing but self doubt.

Not a chance, they don't have the current funds without offloading players, they can't afford the wages or the agent fees.

Funny thing is Madrid probably banked on buying back Morata sparking the transfer (Pogba for Morata + Cash) now United have come in with big money and Juve have decided not to be held hostage by Madrid and instead will buy Higuain and have Pjanic in the midfield.

Madrid lose and have spent more money on spinning propaganda in MARCA than actually getting transfer deals done.

Even Gomes prefers Barcelona, but then again Barcelona is a bigger club in the last decade than Madrid.

No updates mean negotiations have stalled, watch Real swoop in under our noises

They're the Spanish equivalent of The Sun, no?
Oh they're terrible. They've constantly changed their mind on Pogba over the last week or so (hell they claimed all options for Pogba were open to Madrid only last night) so to go to the other extreme which goes against their readership is a big thing imo.
I'd wager someone at Madrid just told them to stop.

Let's assume that Madrid, against all odds, manage to cobble together £120m without actually selling anyone, and then decide to go in heavy for Pogba, and offer him a wage even bigger or the same as what we're offering him (none of which I actually believe will happen).

I still don't think they'd get him.

It's obvious that Juventus have told United to delay the announcement/ formal sale until after they've closed deals or got near to closing deals on a bunch of other players.

We have put our shit on hold to allow Juventus to sort themselves out.

It would then take all manner of cnutishness and downright evil to then renege on that deal with us and sell him to some other club, having made us wait. I don't think that's gonna happen. I don't think one CEO of a massive club is gonna stab another one in the back like that.

I wouldn't even be surprised if there was a formal written agreement between us and Juve that the deal is agreed, but the announcement is being delayed to allow Juve to bring in new players. That would protect Woody's position and guarantee no other club can gazump us.

Just my take on it, but yeah I admit I'm assuming the deal's done and we're not still haggling with Juve over the fee or agent's fee. If we are, technically anything could happen (though practically speaking it's extremely unlikely to).

If I see that word Madrid one more time I will throw up.

And its a shame cause its a beautiful city.

Definitely not.

I doubt it.
Swap deals don't happen amongst top clubs. If a swap does happen, then it should be considered the exception (once every 10-20 years), rather than the norm.
I don't think Madrid were putting their hopes on a swap deal.
