Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Pogba is not the type of player to stay behind, control the tempo of the game and spray passes to start attacks.

I read this sentence and thought, surely Blind is made for this role?
Basically, someone who uses their brain and passing ability to start attacks from the back.

The meltdown if that happened :wenger:
Juve are being more than compensated for losing a star, but we at the same time shouldn't be held over a barrel. Tbh we are already having our pants pulled down.

Blind and Pogba would be perfect together now that I think about it

The problem with Blind is him lacking physically to control the game when he's the only one sitting deep. He's very ineffective at slowing down opposition when they're breaking at pace. Mourinho likes someone a bit stronger in that role.

how on earth did you draw that conclusion from "remote possibility of staying"?

1. We knew Higuain's transfer was not DEPENDENT on pogba leaving. However it's been known from day 1 in papers like GdS that Juve were looking to get Higuain in and pogba would then be leaving.

2. We know there are teething negotiation issues around the fee.

3. Di Marzio's conclusion is that if there isn't a way to sort out all the issues there is a "remote possibility" of pogba staying.

Literally NOTHING different has been said.
Well it's different to what L'Equipe said a couple of days ago, that we had reached agreement with Juve and Pogba and it was deal done. And that article was what all the excitement was based on.

Juve must really be posturing now. If they are actually asking for more money, then start putting out strong rumours from our end that we are going after someone else and will not go through with the Pogba deal. Make sure they've already committed to Napoli fully, and then leave them there to think on where to find the money to pay for Higuain.

We should never ever ever do any deals with Juve again. Not to even sell them a piece of shit. Irritating bastards.

If Juve are taking the piss then Pogba needs to step in here.
They're messing him around as much as us.

There has to come a point where we say enoughs enough. Imagine the fallout when Raiola doesn't get his £20m, Juventus their £100m and Pogba his £13m a year. All have more to lose than us.

True, looks like L'Equipe jumped the gun. However the section you highlighted was not in relation to L'Equipes story but Di Marzio's stance.

There is probably agreement on the overall price but quarrels about structure of payments. These things take time.

The same overly-kneejerk people saying we should pull out now will be the ones having the largest meltdown when we sign Matuidi or Diarra instead

Juve will be fine if they keep Pogba. Another season with one of the world's best midfielders only this time with an even better squad around him.

I thought we already agreed the fee and just waiting for the agent fees? What the hell is going on. Everyone just makes new crap up or backtrack on reports.

I literally don't know who to believe anymore.

So true

"We should pull out, we can't be taken advantage of in this despicable manner "

"Matuidi? Why didn't we just pay what Juve wanted "

How many 6th choice man United players ended up playing at juventus? Raiola engineered such deal and provided his protection. Juventus promised Pogba a real shot to first team and having mino there ensured that they keep their word. You don't want to pass mino off
That is not really a great argument. Pogba being 6th choice had less to do with his talent and more to do with SAF not willing to bow down to his demands. If we start using such examples, all youth players who moved at young ages from major academies and who had a very good career will be thanking their agents. Like Fabregas, Pique just two name two. Point is sometimes circumstances are like this.

As for Pogba, Juve wouldn't have cared two hoots about Raiola if Pogba was not the talent that he is. Hence it has nothing to do with Raiola. Unfortunately in this day and age, agents have all the power over a player and we have such situations arising more often than not. Agents like Raiola and Mendes should be banned from football.

Believe in yourself

Would you like a sedative ?

This is true.
I actually think that Pogba and Raiola need this to happen more than anybody else.
I am not sure if Juve want this to happen because rumour has it that they can afford to buy Higuain without selling Pogba. If they end up with both players next season, they'll be CL contenders for sure.

People need to chill out. Di Marzio was one of the ones talking about Madrid...so it don't matter what he's said. Their job is to create a story...it don't matter if it's true or not. Clearly the media are going all over the place with this. Just ignore it. They are losers with nothing better to do then sensationalize everything and create a drama.

Just need to have a little bit of patience.
These things take time, and they're not going to be done overnight. My theory is that if all is agreed and Juve are waiting on Higuain to sign before letting Pogba go, then rather than have days of silence and having their supports get irate at the lack of news, they're leaking little bits like not enough money, no need to sell Pogba to sign Higuain etc. That gives them time to get their signing over the line whilst making it look like they're fleecing United for everything they have. It pleases their supporters (well in their eyes i suppose). If Juve did want more money, i imagine United would pull out pretty quickly and move on to other targets, and the papers would pick up on it quickly too, as we'd likely brief them at some point.

FFS, even Amoyal (Converts Di Marzio site into english) has to reiterate the "remote possibility" part.:lol:

Do people even take 5 seconds to read the articles fully? Or just react as soon as they see one thing?

I'm guessing everything has been agreed and they are just waiting for some of Raiola's details to get ironed out. Otherwise Ed would not be in Beijing. I remember a couple of years ago when the squad were in LA....Ed flew out for the first 2-3 days then quietly flew back to England to presumably deal with wrapping up transfers.

And who can forget him jetting out to sign Fabregas.

Part of me would love us to walk away and see what happens with their Higuain deal. They've spent an awful lot lately and it just feels like any club can hold us to ransom if they feel like it.

They really haven't

Pjaca was €23m
Pjanic was €32m
Benatia was €3m loan with €17m option to buy him at the end of the loan
Dani Alves was a free transfer

And they sold Moratta to Madrid for €30m

So they have basically net spend €28m so far

In terms of wages Alves is prob on a big one and Benatia and Pjanic will also earn a decent wage but they have lost the wage of Cuadrado and Moratta so all in all not much difference there.

I don't think Juve would spend €94m without selling Pogba but it is not true they have spend an awfull lot. In fact they are a very economical club and their books are usually in order. At the end of the summer they will probably have earned more money than they have spend.

The thing actually is, I do think it is possible but very unlikley Juve might actually be able to afford Higuain without selling Pogba. They never spend much and every season they get money from CL money and winning the serie A, so it is not unlikley they might have build up some reserve cash. If they would sell some further players like Zaza (20m), Manzukic(20m), Pereya(18m) who all still look like leaving, they might actually be able to afford it without selling Pogba. But must say I think it is unlikley because it feels very unlike Juve.
