Agreed. I liked him more when he kept his mouth shut. This is also the player that actually refused to put on the Utd shirt for a game. He has spouted so much nonsense since he moved into the media, it's unreal. Hopefully we won't see too much more of him in front of the camera.

And we would never go this deep in a transfer (bidding more and more) without having guaranteed assurances Pogba will sign with us.

Keep reading and hearing people speak about Pogba as if he's just all potential. Look at his inclusion in the UEFA and FIFpro XI. He's already one of the best midfielders in the world. His potential is to be one of the best overall. Yes, there are probably better deals available but we aren't in need of great value right now. We're lacking in top qualiry, not depth. Our team needs a superstar level talent to build around, to go with DDG and Martial. Pogba fits that bill better than any available young player.
Doesn't surprise me that he hangs around with a headcase like Chad Johnson!
Madrid have started a PR defensive on the Pogba situation. With everything that's coming out, it's pretty obvious he's United bound.
Well to be fair, Juve themselves just paid out 94mil themselves for a 28 year old striker who was surplus to Real just a few years ago. They probably know they're overpaying quite a bit too, but maybe that's what they feel they need to do to win the CL.
I guess in the same way, we're desperate to get back into the game too. Pogba will improve our chances of winning the league a fair bit, and maybe we need to suck it up just this once.
Of course there is ultimately a limit we will not exceed, but Juve probably knows this too. And I think 120+mil is probably the most they can squeeze from us without breaking the deal.

It is very relevant. First of all because it hits Paul Scholes as a supporter. The club he loves has lost a player with great potential because he wasn't given space in our team. Paul Scholes may wonder if Pogba would have still left if he remained in retirement + he would be furious with the boy for not fighting for his first team place (these are people who think that Manchester United is the centre of the universe and that anything beyond not succeeding there is a failure).
It also hits him as a SAF's loyal disciple. Believe it or not, PS is SAF's most loyal disciple. Unlike Giggs and Gaz Paul Scholes didn't had any agents. When Moratti enquired about the guy, he ended up speaking with SAF who told him to stick his offer in an inappropriate place. Paul Pogba is the living embodiment of SAF's rare but biggest feckup. We're actually buying our talent back for 100m because the manager (Paul Scholes idol) preferred to stick to his golden oldies (which also include PS) than to this kid. For us, its not really that bad to admit that SAF messed up. He's the single most important person in this club's history but he's still human after all. However these people owe everything to the man, he made them the stars they are now and lead them to multiple victories. Basically they owe him everything and they can't stomach that he might have messed up big time.
Finally it challenges the very concept of the United way. The class of 92 have this romantic view of that period and think that United were lead by some knight in shining armour who would rather lose trophies then not giving youths a chance. Its unthinkable for them that SAF would rather lose a top quality but inexperienced talent and rely on his old guard just to end his career on high. This mentality is ironically highlighted by the Keano-SAF spat which is brilliantly described in one of SAF's books. At one point, Keane looked at SAF and told him that he had changed and he wasn't the man Keano idolised anymore. SAF admitted that he had to change else he wouldn't keep on winning. That is something I believe that the class of 92 have yet to fully comprehend. The SAF who gave them their shot wasn't the same SAF's of Pogba's time.
I just don't like his style. I'd prefer a more aggressive attacking midfielder. I don't like his hair either. Or his agent.

It is of course but if (and I know it's a big one) he stays fit, City will have picked up a better player for a fraction of the Pogba fee. I'd bet Fergie would put on Gudongan sooner than re-sign Pogba.
Could have agreed terms in principle - with all parties (Juve, Pogba, Raiola) but not yet signed off because Pogba is still hoping that Real can scrape together the funds (probably needs them to sell James or another player)

I agree. To be fair, judging from his stupid Instagram photos and videos, Pogba seems like maybe even a bigger head case than Chad Johnson. And certainly seems worse than Memphis, who is constantly criticised for being too "flashy". But then again, as long as it doesn't affect Pogba's actual play on the field, who cares?

Alternatively, Scholes is emblematic of the kind of senior United player who always thinks he knows best...partly because SAF mistakenly viewed their pithiness as plain-speaking common sense when it was often sheer arrogance and self-righteousness. Note that Scholes is swift to imply that Pogba leaving was about money, and omits to mention the specific elephant in the room: Scholes and co taking Pogba's place in the team and so stunting the player's development. These senior players love to play the worldly and selfless mentor but they're all too often about self-interest.

How does that make him a better player? David De Gea has been the best keeper in the world for the past three seasons. He hasn't exactly had much success in Europe has he?

Also i think the Scholes comment might be a fergie brief, i think he is fuming we have gone so big in for him as it makes his decision look wrong. Personally for me Scholes was a great player, but hi opinions are wide of the mark.
A more technical version perhaps. Hopefully if we get him, he steps up even more. He's certainly capable if we were to use him properly.
