Oh great!

What an utter waste of time - for me. I was trying to do the same thing, going through all the pages in this thread! I got to page 136.
My goal was to create a timeline, just to show how futile it is to trust journalists.

That is by far the saddest thing I've seen in this thread.

And that's saying something.

Stop being a greedy cnut, Riola, you fat little troll.

It is not Raiola in the wrong here. Those stingy pasta tossing bambinos at Juve stole him from us with promises to Raiola about the 20%, so then they better pay up.

There's plenty.
Who? Save maybe Neymar, like @Kevin says.

Yes, but the difference is, those players aren't available. They are already at top tier clubs, and are getting paid as highly as we'd offer them.

All players are available for the right price. If the club are keen on the money offered by another club they will most likely get their way. Like with di Maria for example.

You're talking as if we can walk into any club and just take anyone we want.

No, of course we can't. I'm saying there aren't many players who's club wouldnt accept an offer of the size we're now making for Pogba.

And who exactly do you have in mind?

Everyone except the obvious two and Neymar.

I'm not saying there's a better alternative out there, just that he isn't the only one we could get for this kind of money. I'm more than happy with Pogba coming, I don't see how we could do any better.

Stop being a greedy cnut, Riola, you fat little troll.

Hang on, the man's doing his job. If it's in black and white what he's owed as per the terms of the previous contract Juve should honour that, it's pretty poor business etiquette. Raiola should hold them to account.

Instead, they are using it as part of a negotiation tactic with us and seemingly won't agree to finalise the deal without Raiola's fee's being at least part funded. It will not stand them in good stead for the future if they are known to renege on contracts they sign or use below the belt tactics to weasel out of it. Just a few points of note:

1) Raiola isn't going to throw away his commission easily, the last thing he wants is for the deal to go south
2) Rhetoric out of both United and Juve camps suggest that this deal is close to completion
3) Reputable media outlets are reporting the deal as being all but completed
4) There are plenty of reasons as to why this move makes sense for Pogba

The missing bit of info for me is whether or not Juve can afford all the alleged signings/fees for their incoming players (Higuain) without the Pogba money? If they can't then this deal is sure to complete sooner or later, regardless of who throws their toys out of the pram the furthest.

Wait, so Raoila negotiated a fee with Juve (based on future transfer fee) for helping them to steal Pogba from us and now they want us to pay that fee???

They must think Woodward was born yesterday!

as a point of principle we should definately not pay a cent more than the agreed price with Juve....

It would sum up our money management over the last couple of years if we ended up paying agent fees we arent responsible for

Its not that simple. Juve probably told us they want 100m for Pogba. We then said okay sure, then Juve reminded us that what that actually means is we have to pay Mino 20% cut before the price. Which is obviosuly cheeky of them.

They have a price that they want which excluded Minos share. When in reality their prices would normally include his share.

Juve have apparently had a bid for Gabigol accepted now as well. These endless signings from Juve must mean that Pogba is gone. Otherwise they have some enormous war chest stashed away somewhere that no-one knows about.

Yeah. It's very, very sad.

The Independent scooped me.

As for wasting my time creating this very apt case study, it is mine to waste after all. BTW, feel free to peruse my monumental fail!

EDIT: And that is it for my 5 posts a day. Perhaps I will just reply to people by editing this post into eternity? Hehe... :p

You don't have to compile long lists of Pogba stories. We still like you.

Ok I have just watched the Italian Sky Sports woman give info on the situation via UK Sky Sports.

This is all done. She even had exact wages etc. It literally is just waiting for us to pay Raiola's €20m (not 25 like some are reporting.)

As soon as either us or Juve pay it, Pog is ours.

I can't see Jose letting them f**k this up over a few quid. We would probably be looking at selling a fair few players as well.

Pogba is as good as done for me.

Yes but it's probably not even true, just journos looking for stories about how tough Juve have been in negotiations to appease their fans and filling time/headlines before it is announced.

So Duncan Castles gets a lot of hate on here but he was the first to break the story?

Well he's a Mendes/Jose mouthpiece so I guess he's got to be somewhat reliable in regards to United now. Don't really get all the hate he gets. He is really, really bald, though.

I don't really get the Duncan Castles hate. It's clear he has some links to Mourinho, and to be fair there's worse journos than him.

Castles and Keys seem to be the football forum's whipping boys but both are very good when it comes to Utd these days. I trust them over Tanc Top and Di Marzio.

I wonder if the intoxication and hubris of Mou's newly arrived vibes, and his Gung Ho attitude etc, might have led Woody to overplay his hand? Did all the hints and leaks leave Juve with a bit too much bargaining leverage? Woody/United winds up as the boy who brags of climbing a tall steeple, and puts himself in grave danger, 'cos he can't lose face? Looking down from a great height right now. Hope Pogba is worth it.

20m is not a few quid though.

You've actually confused me with what you're saying. I thought you are kinda ridiculing the money we are spending on Pogba and that for his fee we can sign anyone bar Messi, Ronaldo and Neymar?

Yeah, my fault. Not ridiculing in any way (I'm glad he's coming), but I do think we could get pretty much anyone except the ones you mention for this money, yes.

But I'm happy with it, I just don't agree that he's the only option.

20m is not a few quid though.
It is in the grand scheme of things. We are pretty desperate for a world class midfielder and not closing the deal over it would be madness. We could recoup that fee by selling Fellaini and Schweinsteiger.

This thread is shit and people are going for the record number of posts just for the sake of it. Reminds me of Rooney's quest for the goal scoring record.

Phenomenal work, but you could have saved yourself a lot of bother by just using the last two weeks. He's been signed, fee agreed, fee not agreed, agent fee holding it up, Real involved, Real never fancied her anyway, fee not agreed, fee agreed, fee agreed but Juve actually want more at one point. It's gotten beyond a joke.

the onus is always on the buyer in this case, particularly when there isn't much in the way of rival bids. we'll pay the fee, or maybe the majority of it or something.

I don't really get the Duncan Castles hate. It's clear he has some links to Mourinho, and to be fair there's worse journos than him.
It's down to him being an obvious ABU and constantly posting negative stories or putting a negative spin on things about us. Can't stand the twat.

It's mad to think we had him, Lingard and Morrison at the same time and we only managed to keep a hold of Lingard for various reasons.

I'd love it if we could get Morrison back ad have his head screwed on. It'll never happen.
Yes. And, in my opinion, having Pog and Ravel were the major reason as to why Sir never went big for a midfielder.

There's nothing impossible about Pogba, it's just crazy money for a footballer, and very complex.

It's unreal the moaning from people like you.

"Oh we never target top players"
"Oh feck sake how humiliating going for a top player and not getting him!"

I'am just saying go for the ones you can get

Apart from Di Maria I can't remember a single top player the club went for and we actually managed to get him. Vidal, Ramos, Müller, Hazard etc, I'am not saying we should sign all these players, I'am saying if you spend half a summer trying then please try to get it done for once.

I would have been just as happy if the club said this summer we need a new midfielder, lets sign Kanté or Pjanic and get them. If they rather get Pogba then that is fantastic but if it ends with no Pogba and also no Kanté, no Pjanic because they are off the market already then feck me that is a big failure.

It is not moaning it is just stating the obvious fact that we have advanced to a state right now because the transfer has dragged on for awhile and most other alternatives have already disappeared, we better get this done or risk having a failed summer again.

I don't buy that they'll be able to sign Higuain and keep Pogba, not for the money they're throwing at Napoli. Financially they're not a Madrid or United and couple that to their match fixing budget for the season I simply don't see how they're not going to sell Pogba to us at the quoted prices.
