There is nothing wrong with he's saying about the 20m - of course Utd have the means (i.e. not prohibitive) but dont necessarily want to pay it all solely. It doesnt need to be one or the other.
As for Madrid - if Madrid were willing to pay the money, i think most would agree he would be going there so its not a reach to suggest he would rather join them.
Why do people keep acting like this is at all true? This originated from Ballague which then AS and Marca ran with it, all Spanish league biased cnuts. Ballague was on tv and radio basically throwing his toys out of the parm because Madrid can't match what we will pay.

Yes there is. The 20m isn't prohibitive yet we are reluctant to pay it. You can't get really anymore contradictive than that other than that we are flatout refusing to pay it. If Juventus are gonna be cnuts about an agreement they made with Raiola and we really want him then there is no choice but to pay it.

For example, this repeated claim about Pogba preferring Madrid. There is no quote from him about that, only reports--really just speculation--that has then been repeated enough that people take it is a fact, some even exaggerating it to the point where they think he's desperate for Madrid and doesn't want to come here at all. Sure, we can speculate on that. After all, they're defending CL champions, they have one of his footballing heroes as manager (for now), and they're overall in a stronger position than us. But that doesn't mean that's the only place he wants to play. I'd prefer a Lamborghini, but I'd still be pretty fecking happy if someone gave me a Ferrari instead, and I wouldn't be driving that Ferrari around longingly dreaming of some day having someone give me a Lamborghini to replace it.

1/ Raiola + Juventus have a contract stating that Juventus have obligation to pay a 20% fee of any future transfer of Pogba.
2/ After preliminary agreement on fee between Man Utd and Juve, Juve then insist Man Utd pay agents fee
This is how it should be done.
1/ Man Utd in coordination with Raiola should have a legal binding document between themselves stating that both parties are in acknowledgement that Juve are essentially blackmailing Man Utd by attempting to invalidate the contract between Raiola and Juve re 20% fee.
2/ Man Utd should pay the agreed fee to Juventus and Raiola's 20% fee
3/ Use the legally binding document made between Man Utd + Raiola to sue the feck out of Juventus.
4/ Make sure that the legal case is dragged out in the public domain using ALL means neccessary to make it clear what type of underhanded club Juventus are and in the process destroying all notion of the 'romance' that the name Juventus once had.
5/ After winning the legal case against Juventus make it clear that Man Utd stand for freedom, honesty and integrity
