Why all of this negativity all of a sudden?! Are you lot on your periods?
Welcome mate. It's a done deal...he's on holiday. They will want a big unveiling when it's announced.
Oh and first post in the mains. ..HI!!
I feel like I've imprinted on Pogba. It's worse than Twilight.
I agree, If they dont want to take all that money then tough they will lose much more next year especially if he doesn't live up to season past. If Juve truly did agree to pay Raiola his percentage there is no reason we should foot the bill after spending so much already. Move on to matuidi and concentrate on improving the secondary squad.
Who?
That's probably what it is. If a bunch of people spend too much time on the caf together they synchronise them. Why all of this negativity all of a sudden?! Are you lot on your periods?![]()
Why would we include a percentage of any future sale for the agent? That has never happened in a sale between two clubs and is ridiculous. Raiola only has this 20% due to Pogba signing on a free. This 20% is different from regular agent fee's.If any deal is to be struck, I think it's very important that we exclude any sort of agent percentage to avoid a situation in a few years where Raiola will push the player away from us for personal gain.
Could this just not be an attempt from Juventus to play to the fans? They've just spunked a whole load of money on Higuain and now they're posturing to the fans by giving the impression they'll do anything to keep Pogba. Due to no one actually knowing the figure United have offered, they could ultimately in the end say that such a huge offer was received, they had no real choice but to accept it and let Pogba go, whilst re-investing the money they received in the team to make it better? That would please the fans as it'd give the impression that they did all they could to keep him? That just makes way too much sense. Madrid dont function that way. They go by flavor of the month. They sign them no matter what. For the first time they cant afford him and they absolutely cant stand it. They have to save face - a world record deal is taking place and Madrid isnt involved - this doesnt bode well with them. Also why would Pogba stay at Juventus at earn 4.5m when he can go to United and earn 10m? Why waste over 10m Euros in just wages by staying at Juventus waiting for Madrid to come calling. No one can predict the future. What happens if Madrid dont come in? Like I said before there is way too much for either of those parties (Pogba and Juventus) to not take the deal this summer.
That doesn't stop signings, Barca had a transferban once and it was one of the windows they signed the most players, just didn't register them until January.
Wouldn't be hard to imagine something similar with Pogba, Juve keep him for now so they can have a CL with Pogba and Higauin, Dyabala and Pjanic and their amazing defence having the best chance in like forever to win it. Pogba has a great chance for CL win, Real got a year to gather enough funds. Real sign him in the summer but don't register him till January because of the transfer ban and loan him out for half a season to Juve.
Why do you reckon such a clause is one that could only be included in a free transfer? Why would we include a percentage of any future sale for the agent? I'm not a scout, I'm sure the club has options, they would be stupid to try and go into a deal like Pogba that could go either way without other options. With that money we could buy one or a few of Douglas Costa, Draxler, Isco, Mahrez, whilst also having enough money left over purely from the Pogba money to get in some upcoming stars like GBJ.
Couple that with Matic, Matuidi or whoever else our club has identified and I'm sure we will be raring to go. I expect a lot of our players to improve under Jose.
I obviously would prefer Pogba, he's one of the only remaining midfielders left who can take us up a level, but if it's not happening we shouldn't waste all our time on it. We've made the same mistake with Vidal, Thiago and Fabregas. We need to be more vigilant this time.
Would Juventus not be relying on this deal to go through after their mammoth expenditure this summer? If so they are in no position to play hard ball.
Maybe trust Mourinho's scouts then?
He's highlighted CM as a position that needs strengthening and he's highlighted a young player with a unique skillset to fill that position. We're rich as feck, I've no qualms with us setting a high valuation of him and sticking to it. It wouldn't stop us spending the same again on Neymar if he suddenly became available.
Lets sign Joe Allen or Jordan Henderson then.![]()

What does scouts have to do with finalising this deal? You don't need to be a professional Football scout to see that Pogba is a good player. It's also no secret that our midfield needs strengthening and I've already stated Pogba is ideal and I hope it happens. What isn't ideal though is wasting a whole window on a player if it isn't looking likely.
That being said - I think this transfer is done and has been for a while, journos just don't have a clue. On the chance it isn't though, if reports are to be believed I hope the club is starting to pursue other targets. Pogba would be amazing, but any midfielder is better than no midfielder.
Yup. And there are different kinds of alternative to just signing a central midfielder. Matuidi isn't a replacement for Pogba but we may, for instance, decide to use Mkhi centrally and find a right winger, rather than sign a different central midfielder. Or sign both Matuidi and a right winger. We have options.Wasting a whole window? We've signed 3/4 players Mou wanted. If we don't wrap Pog up in the next 4 weeks, we'll use the last fortnight to sign an alternative.

127 Hours, feels like that film in here.2 hrs ? 24 hrs? 200 hrs?
good call. forgot about thoseWhen calculating Juve's outlay this window, don't forget to add they've for the second instalment of Dybala's fee to pay and also Santos'!
So you can add about 30M to that outlay!

We paid for Depay with 4 installments six months apart. All transfers are done in installments.Out of curiosity, are all transfers that involve big fees done in this manner? Or was it an exemption for Higuain?
