But they always run their media campaigns when they are making a big move, they usually start shortly after the season has ended or half way through a major tournament. They did it with Ronaldo, Bale, James, Modric etc etc.
It hasn't happened yet and i doubt it will, which leads me to believe they are not actually in for him. No one is Italy is mentioning Real they are pretty much all saying Pogba to United is almost done, Marca keep saying Real don't want to or can't pay the fee required. And even if they could they would have to sell James first who doesn't want to leave.

If Mou/Woody were saying things like that everyone would be up in the air and celebrating it as a done deal or at least very close. It's the same like in many other sagas before - quotes/news which are pro United are most likely reliable whereas all the other stuff is just BS.
La Stampa could make up stories as well as they need to sell papers, generate clicks etc. though! Those are legit quotes from the head coach of Real Madrid who is an obvious admirer of Pogba and has been for a long time now - if he calls, Pogba will be there in a heartbeat, no doubt about that.
I've never had my hopes up in this transfer (not like in the Sneijder or Vidal sagas) and it seems to break down slightly piece by piece again..

Look, there is so much bullshit flying about but you would expect that for this kind of deal. There is what's happening on stage and what's going on behind the scenes. There's lots of misinformation out there. We all knew how this would pan out. However, after all this time - no where have we seen Madrid reaching a contractual agreement or any kind, with Pogba. At this stage - where is their agreement? Even rumored?..We've seen a lot of talking. If they could afford him, they would have paid the money. They've not been able to budge anyone. As I said before, there was a rumor of the Higuain deal taking another week...and then it was concluded the next day. That's that situation. We don't know but we can be optimistic.

If we're going in with offers of £96 million (or whatever the latest rumour is) at this stage in the window I'd imagine an end game is in sight one way or another. We want a player in ASAP and if Juve don't budge on Pogba in the coming days then I think we could easily look elsewhere.

In fact, one of the earliest stories which came out was that Madrid made an enquiry and were quoted 120 mil + Kroos after which they backed out. Zidane maybe still interested in him but what has changed that Juventus demands be any different now? Madrid still don't have the money to finance this kind of transfer and the players which they were looking to sell for huge sums (Morata and James) are both staying. People need to be more patient and logically (Higuain transfer, our negotiations regarding addons etc.) everything suggests this is moving in the correct direction.

Just to think, six years ago United were the biggest club in Europe, with back-to-back CL final appearances, and Real were on their knees.
Then they signed a big-name player for an obscene amount of money and everything started to change...

You could say at the time of contact, we were talking CL football - but you can reason that by saying...well he's willing to leave Juventus for the Europa league. Just wait and see. This whole saga follows the same pattern as many others before and I’ve always had the feeling that it will end like the others ones before.
Real Madrid won’t let us break the world record fee for a player they’ve been sniffing around for quite a while now and stand at the sideline. If Zidane has managed to convince Perez that Pogba is the missing piece for him to build the first team which is able to defend the UCL, Perez will do everything to get him – and I’m pretty sure every one of us is aware how those things usually end...
All those journos and twitter guys don’t know anything when it comes to hard facts. They may have their sources inside or near a certain club but also these sources could just be BSing for a few quid.
