Are there any other players from the Euros who are still on their holidays?
There is a chance he will cut short his holiday, although I wouldnt want him to, if we make it official early next week. Serie A starts later than the premier league so he was slated to come back later.

Oh Raiola said the deal isn't done?

Basically confirms it's done. It's Raiola after all. Guessing this gets announced Monday.

He's clearly building up the hype for when his client is to be announced. If he'd confirmed we are very close then less attention would be on the player and the announcement. It's all a big set of "mind games" from all parts to build the hype. I'm also pretty sure there's an agreement with Juve that United will be the ones to announce this, unlike with Dortmund and Mkhi.

Bs.

Why would we leave it that late.
Because he's supposed to be on vacation through next weekend. So Unless United are going to ask him to cut short his vacation ( and it's not a good way to re-start the relationship by saying, "We own you now, quit your fun and get back here to work"), then there's no rush.

It can be 100% agreed by all parties, all the paperwork looked over by all of the lawyers, and still wait a week. If United, Juve, Pogba, and Raiola, all know that it's a certainty, they aren't going to be in a rush just to appease the fans. Especially not when the 1000 page milestone of this thread is looming.

Just thinking back... Am I wrong in remembering Barca agreed a deal to buy Pogba last summer? I swear I remember hearing about that.

Why is his holiday so long anyway? Even if he wasn't joining us, don't you think he'd want to get back and get ready for the start of the Serie A?

I think the papers did say they might have an agreement to sign him for a big fee, not 100m though, but they didnt expect the Neymar contract negotiations as a cause of concern but with him demanding a big contract they cancelled negotiations with Juventus. They essentially chose Neymar over Pogba.

They start later than we do.

Ah, cheers. Thought they were usually around the same time. You'd still think he would want a game or 2 of pre-season in, so he's ready but I'm sure his club allowed his holiday to be so long.

Surely he would want to hit the ground running, get back to training next week.

Yup, the papers keep writing about him, the sports shows keep talking about him, the tweets keep tweeting about him. Every day this goes on, especially with any on again/off again news, is that much more media exposure for the Pogbrand and the United brand. If he wasn't on vacation, I think it would be different. But if he's vacationing until August 6/7, then there is no rush. I suspect that it's done, even if there are minor details, and all parties know that it's done, so they're milking it. Rather than have the "done deal" stories for a day or two, then a week of nothing before he's introduced, everyone wants the headlines to keep coming day after day.

At least that's how I see it, at least if this all does indeed keep dragging on.

Is pogba the only footballer in the world still in vacation? everyone seems to be back in training including those who played in the final.

Jesus what a slow night. Didn't this thread clear like 50 pages last night? About 3 pages tonight

Then again, it's just hit me that it's Friday night and I should be out socialising like everybody else

I guess the Serie A starts later than the Premier League so he gets a longer vacation.

You're just been daft, of course people will still have their doubts.

If anything this is an 'attention seeking' post in itself.

Well if you're going to keep ignoring/not understand the concept of this deal already being done, I'm not the daft one. If you cannot understand a marketing campaign, which maybe cryptic in it's message, is however, plainly obvious that the Pogba deal is done. Am I the daft one?!

I can understand if people are naive about the whole transfer/marketing of this Pogba deal. But with your reply to my message...it's obvious you're just THICK!

I'm attention seeking your reply!

We could have used the money to buy Barkley and Allen who are statistically better. Would have been a good british core too

So today wasnt any different than any other day. Full of optimism in the morning, one tweet which means nothing and pessimists came in full force, some even claiming we should back of, evening came and its calm again. Of course esnahul contributed with a tweet from tuttoinsieme.com

DailyMail article

"Of all the self-obsessed rubbish spoken by Van Gaal during his lamentable tenure, that which centred on Old Trafford's young players was the most offensive. It was astonishing some chose to buy into it."

"Van Gaal's endless talk about promoting young talent from the ranks is finally exposed as disingenuous baloney"

Wtf, this guy really hates LVG doesn't he?

Someone said he had apparently played for the past 11 months pretty much nonstop so needed a bigger break. Looking on transfermarkt he played around 5,600'. Never injured and lasted 90 minutes most of the time. Played more than Ronaldo.

Serie A starts a week later than the Premier League too.

I know it's not exactly Pogba news but according to Di Marzio, Juventus have submitted a 20m euros bid for Witsel which was rejected.
